My all time favorite bluegrass group. They are also great musicians. Wish you were still together

The Old Schoolhouse at Lucketts is still churning out some wonderful concerts ! Before covid, it was the longest contiguous bluegrass venue in the USA. They are back. Just this last season, I saw great shows from Becky Buller, Po Ramblin Boys and the Kody Norris Show !

We got to the school too late and it was sold out. Hung out by ab open window and drank a few beers while listening to the show. Wd gad seen them in Gettysburg and Bethesda before. BG in the DC area when it was a Mecca for the music. Kong live the Johnson Mountain Boys.

One of the great BG-bands, I belive a litte under-estimated. Traditional, plain and a lot of feeling. The harmony singing is first class. They gave great shows and have left a big mark in the blue-grass history and hall of fame!

Thank you for finally getting the whole thing up. For anyone who hasn't seen this before, it very well could be the greatest live bluegrass concert ever.

No problem, JB. Volume output is a bit high and came out scratchy so I may do over but for now I'll leave it up.

You may be right. My favorite band for straight-ahead traditional bluegrass. Phenomenally talented and impeccable taste and timing.

Johnson Mountain Boys are as good as it gets. Dudley Connell and Eddie Stubbs really put on a good show. I feel very fortunate to hear this.

In the erly 80s i was a temperamental young man had been playin mandolin since i was 5 i have my grangfathers washburn a 5. Getting back to the story i heard these guys and was Blown away. But you know religioso parents id put a little blues in my some tunes like monroe did or in this case this mandolin players pure style. Stiller dont understand why folks dont like a little style in bluegrass nothing wrong with a g run on mandolin and guitar once in a While anyway god rest my parents soul never did they change my blues rifs or cramp my style on mandolin.

Yeah, Back in the 90's I went to a few bluegrass festivals around the south with my Parents. and we saw this group alot and they were the most memorable, and was very blessed to see somebody uploaded alot of their songs here. Thanks for all of the great songs! The older I get the more they are appreciated.

Yes. And she's sitting right behind Hazel Dickens. To Hazel's left is Ken Irwin, one of the founders of Rounder Records.

@@iragitlin7549 We showed up late with our friends from Lovettsville and the place was sold out. It happens when your buddies party too hard. We stood outside for the whole show and listened through the walls. What a fantastic group.
Better to be there and almost see it than miss it.

I've learned that it was Jackson Frost, who produced the video for WETA.

You guys did an unjust service by over compressing on the final video mixdown. The sound track is abysmal. This video should be at least a gigabyte in size for 2 hours. What a shame.
