You're so welcome! Im so happy it worked for you. I LOVE this technique so much fun and an easier technique to give your florals that mid level, artist look :-) Youve got this, Have fun ! Color co mbinations are endless
Wonderful! This is an older one now I have my own brushes (Well almost sold out but what a great oldie but goodie!) Have fun friend, This one is fun indeed
These colors are so beautiful. They look like the inside of a peach. 🍑 So pretty! When I introduce the second color into my petals, instead of scrubbing the previous color out with your push and pull method, I just stroke it softly with my brush encouraging the watercolor to create its own magic. It flows and mingles together creating that beautiful magic that I love! I’m afraid if I scrub it like I see you doing it would wear out my brushes quickly. I try so hard to be careful with my brushes. I guess either way it works great. There are just different ways to do things. Your flower is beautiful!
Good morning, You are right it does look like the inside of a peach?! I love your method of gently pulling, feathering the color out on the edges, it probably looks like im applying more pressure in the video too. Because of the water on my brush, it takes very little pressure, and more a tickling gently of the edge of the paint to pull it out. I would love to see your flowers I bet they are beautiful. I wash, rinse and using my fingers to draw out and create a point in my brushes when I am done and storing them for the next day as well which helps me keep my brush in good shape and little hairs in order. Happy painting my artist friend xo
Good morning Ann! Hehe That is the perfect word.. "Mojo" me too! Sometimes I wake up and think, I need something a little different today to inspire me...... Bam, here it is! I hope you have fun painting this friend. AS always, Happy painting! My next tutorial.... pastel hues~
I love how you explained everything step-by-step, and even included how you took the water off of your brush. This is the one thing that I find beginners do not know how to do and you have encapsulated it into this great lesson. A few years ago when I taught a community based watercolor lesson, I had the participants draw, oval shapes, and then practice this technique before working on the actual painting. It gave them the confidence and practice that they needed.
Yes, sometimes it is those little things that when we are shown everything else works well. I try to slow down my process and share what im thinking Im so glad my teaching style also resonates with you! Happy painting keep sharing this beautiful medium!

You are so welcome~ I have taught this before although th is time I am using a different color to blend together. I have only shared using water to soften the edge of a line. Have fun, you will get hooked on this technique and use it all the time! Happy painting.
Wodnerful! It takes a little finesse and mastering that touch but once you get it you get it. Im so happy you gave it a try, this is a technique I use in almost every painting ;-) Have fun!
I followed this technique and my flower was gorgeous! It really helped me to blend the colors and get better at water control. Thank you for this very informative and helpful tutorial!
I'm so happy~ This technique I've used for years. It helped me so much too. I'm happy to know it is still helpful. Water control can be a stinker and a challenge to learn. It's definitely something you can learn, although it can take time to get that "feel". Happy painting! Practice, practice it will get easier and easier!

Are the Artisto pads 100 percent cotton?
Hi Bonnie, Great questions and if you can find that answer I would be so happy! I love this paper and it does ot say anywhere about their cotton content. I searched for it everywhere, because I have been so amazed at how well the results I get when painting on it and couldnt believe it might not be 100% cotton. My next step would be to reach out to Artisto directly and ask. I am assuming because it is not listed anywhere it most likely isnt. I will tell you though, for my everyday painting, the texture and results are fantastic. I love this paper just as much as my arches.
