I moved into a house with LG appliances (including the dishwasher) this past year. The washer and dryer have already been replaced with Speed Queens TC5s. The Linear Compressor fridge is now starting to have issues. I have this same dishwasher as the vid, or maybe the previous Stainless Steel Steam Cleaning model. When it works, it works fine for washing dishes overall. Drying on the LG is average... damp cups, and wet plastics. Utensils on the third rack don't get cleaned (because there is no sprayer arm up top), I would only use the third rack for steam sterilizing. My biggest complaint is that this machine is only around 4-7 years old, and we've had it serviced twice in the last year (under a home warranty). Once because it won't drain, the second time because it won't dry. As a serious appliance owner, I baby my appliances performing the proper maintenance and care. These machines are too expensive to die within 8 years. My next DW will either be the Bosch 800 (SHX78B75UC), or I'll save for a bit longer to splurge on the Miele G 7366 SCVi. I would rather pay a bit more for a better product that will last longer.
I have a Bosch from 2009. It's the lowest model. I have replaced a controller in that time. No weird smells, cleans no problem, dries no problem. I have tried days old dried up egg, with no problem. I'm not sure how it could get better. I paid $375 for it and they ran out the first day. They tried to talk me into getting another model because I "might have to wait until next year before another one came in'. It was Dec 27th. I waited until Jan 3rd and picked up my prize. I have had some OK and some bad LG products. Microwave worked great but rusted inside. Compressor in A/C went and nobody wanted to fix it. Induction stove wouldn't detect a pot/pan on certain elements. I've had great success with GE/Whirlpool/Inglis with decades of service and ease of repair. I trust your data, but it's tough to accept emotionally after what I've seen and experienced.
@@YaleAppliance1 It is DEFINITELY more interesting, but I've completely removed the 800 series from consideration due to price. (And to be fair, I'm considering Canadian prices, which are way out of line with the US prices; the 800 series here starts at $2000. The 500 series is still more expensive than the LG, but at least it's in the same ballpark.) Thanks for the videos, though. I've watched a lot of them trying to decide.
2:35 wipe away, isn’t the purpose of dishwasher to clean throughly. Because if I have to wipe away, there will be an invisible film which will have to be hand washed as its food container. We don’t want old food mixed with soap on it

I still like our Bosch 300. It’s the best.
I wish you'd compare more often against the 500 series Bosch, since it's more price comparable.
