I hear you, but at the same time it also sounds improvised. I thought the band plays great here, but I feel it never goes anywhere real interesting after the opening. I admit it, I wanted to ear a little more of the original melody
Suffice to say I am sitting here crying having listened to this astonishingly beautiful rendition of Jacobs' arrangement. Your playing is sheer perfection. I am enriched for having heard you play. Thank you.
Merci pour cet excellent arrangement et interprétation. Vous venez de me régaler. Sincères félicitations. Merci aussi au talentueux Jacob Collier. Un papy jardinier/musicien du sud de France. 🙋
I wasn't sure I was going to like this, even after it started. This song has great sentimental value, being my mom's favorite, and one of the connections she maintained with her native Ireland her whole life. Listening to this arrangement, I was reminded of the importance of being open to fresh perspectives, and to different points of view (I hope that's not redundant - it feels different in my mind, but who knows?). Sometimes we need to listen with different ears, and look with different eyes, even those of us closing in quickly on 70. Beautiful job as always, and thanks for the fresh perspective.
David-where is venue? By the way, the relative pitch Barclay Brass is attaining is starting to "spook" me with it's closeness to perfection and consequent beauty.
I hate to say it but the arrangement sounds like someone was playing with a piece and they weren't gentle with it and they broke it. The brass sounds amazing, though.
That Jacob basically improvised this arrangment is totally insane to me

My first listen of Barclay Brass. Fortunate introduction!
Got me teary eyed

Always wondered how this arrangement might sound in a different context. You guys nailed it! Love the control and dynamics.

Wow. Thank you.
Fantastic as always
A beautiful masterpiece, so emotional and elegant. I love every second of this timeless spoken poetry. 💯❤🔥🔥
Yes and yes. Bravo 👏👏👏
This is phenomenal. What a wonderful piece. I’m a big fan of these kinds of more unorthodox arrangements
Love this! Bravo!
Sooo good

A better title would be "Fantasia on Londonderry Air." It does drift far afield but delightfully so.
This make chills run up my spine! Thank you!
This really sounds like the christian hymn “he looked beyond my faults and saw my needs”
It's the same tune.
Apparently "thou shalt not steal" doesn't apply to music.
Beautifully played!
Liked and subscribed!
Thanks and welcome!
This is absolutely BRILLIANT, David. Hope you all are doing well! BTW, this is Aaron (used to be at Willard, MO).
😊
You know when Gould gets in that crouching position, things are getting serious.
Come on guys if you post two videos within a month it’s dangerous for my heart health you know that
This is amazing! Do you have sheet music available?

Mike, we recorded this at Church of the Epiphany in Washington, DC. Thanks for giving us a listen!
Is there a score available for purchase by any chance?
This arrangement isn't available - you can check out June Lee's channel to see a piano/vocal score!
Very beautiful, but lopsided. It seems like the second half is just a long coda.
We based this version on Jacob Collier's performance found here - ruclips.net/video/ZXIApugIuqk/видео.html

It's meant to be played with, it's not so fragile. Don't worry about breaking it. I understand your point though
Arrangement is a little too flourishy.
