    We bought a 560 PRO KW S 60" deck back in March 2021. It has been a literal beast mowing grass. My wife runs it and loves it. Very comfortable, safe on slopes with the steering wheel, user friendly and she mows our 2 acre yard like a pro. The 27 HP Kawasaki and the Parker wheel pumps, along with the quality heavy duty build easily made the choice for me from a longevity and maintenance stand point. The only downside is that it's a gas guzzler - but it's a trade off since it mows so fast. Nice video by the way - thank you.

    Sad they discontinued the 500 series. However, my dealer has two still on the showroom for a bargain so I'm picking my 560L up Monday.
    Very informative. I was leaning to a bad boy rebel but I can grab the 560L for the same cash price so it's a no Brainer.

    I brought my PRO Z 900 nearly two years ago for use on our six acre property. Its been a fantastic machine and I'm very happy with it. Unfortunately the PTO has now stopped working, hopefully its just the control button that's causing the issue.
    The mower is used for private use only (not commercial), its regularly serviced by the local Cub Cadet dealer and I clean the machine after every use.
    The breakdown is disappointing and somewhat inconvenient as the local dealer is very busy and I'll be without the machine for at least two to three weeks.
    The grass here in East Gippsland (Victoria Australia) is growing at an alarming rate following all the rain we've had and I hope they can repair the fault easily.
    I enjoyed watching your video and learnt a few things about the PRO Z 700.
    One thing that I will mention is the twin transmission cooling fan grills become blocked quickly by grass clippings.
    Perhaps Cub Cadet need to fit some form of snorkel arrangement to allow clean air to be drawn in to the fans from a higher level.

    I have cut 10 ac pastures on a 972 faster than i can with a tractor and bush hog. One place has quartz rock and you cannot avoid hitting them. This mower holds up to the beating. I would do 30 ac of grass on the 972. I have cut 3’ wet fields and it barely slows down. It is more expensive than most mowers but the durable construction means it will last longer. The air ride seat is a back saver. Fuel consumption is good because you don’t have to run at 100% under most conditions. I totally disagree with the comments about it going places a 4wd tractor won’t go. I added a winch because the stock tires are not good in light mud. Adding LED lights is also easy.

      @kentonequipment4687  2 года назад

      I've driven one across a pond dam at a commercial farm who couldn't mow it with compact 4wd tractors. They bought it and use it there. Of course a larger tractor will do it, but they don't have belly mowers. It's a different machine with a different use-case.

    My 700 with a 31 horse Kawasaki engine and a 60 inch deck is a beast at mowing anything basically, but I have a question for y’all, should you switch the wheels between grass ones and some grippers for mudding?

    • @kentonequipment4687
      @kentonequipment4687  Год назад

      Tires will definitely help, but can pre-maturely wear transmissions or tear up turf if you're not careful. Every use-case is unique

    Nathan, we have been looking at the Pro Z 972SD. We see that Cub is only offering the Kawi. EFI engine in the SDL model The 35 Hp Kawa is a great engine but it's a very thirsty engine. We are hoping for the Vanguard 38 HP EFI engine from Cub, any word about that? Thanks

    • @kentonequipment4687
      @kentonequipment4687  Год назад

      Nothing official that i've heard about Cub bringing in the vanguard engines. They may start offering more of the Kawasaki EFI variants on more machines next year.

    Part of my property has 47 degrees slope, the mower handles it well, mowing down hill.
    Does anyone know where to purchase a service manual for the 972 mower? The owner’s manual is an embarrassment Thanks.

    How much for the steering wheel lawn mower?

  • @jtraveny
    @jtraveny Год назад

    i have between 3 and 5 acres to mow, and i was wondering about these, im deciding between the pro z 554 s and the pro z 148/154 s. so pretty much either the pro 100 s or the pro 500 s.(have hills) would the 100 s be enough or should i spend more and go for the 500 s

    • @kentonequipment4687
      @kentonequipment4687  Год назад +2

      The truth is the PRO Z 100 series will do everything you ask, and will last a long time doing it. It's very good on hills and will go across stuff you wouldn't expect. That said, the 500 series jumps to the larger heavier frame and has many upgrades. Power steering, pivoting front axle, 15 gallon fuel tanks, deck thickness, etc. If you drive the 500 the 100 will feel rudimentary, but the added complexity of the 500 series could be more expensive to fix in the future. I'd recommend driving both and getting what you're comfortable with.

      @@kentonequipment4687 thanks, whatever i get will be a big upgrade from the john deere d140, i at first was thinking of the z-force s model, but unsure how long they might continue to make them so thought the pro z might just be better

    • @kentonequipment4687
      @kentonequipment4687  Год назад +1

      The Z Force is a great model regardless of if they stop making it or not. The PRO Z 100 is on the same frame, but with some commercial-grade components, a rollbar, and a suspension seat.

    I was wondering why I can get a 54 inch deck on a 700 ,but not a 900 if the frame size is the same.....is it because of the tire width on the 900? Thanks

    • @kentonequipment4687
      @kentonequipment4687  20 дней назад

      No, it just has to do with market demand. The tires on the 900 are taller than the 700, but not wider. There's not a huge market for a full size frame commercial zero turn with a deck smaller than 60". I don't see a demand for a 38.5hp engine pushing a 54" deck. The only argument for getting the 900 would be the air-ride seat.

    • @jjwatkins9937
      @jjwatkins9937 20 дней назад

      @kentonequipment4687 yes that was what I wanted. Some of the yards I mow are tight and my 48 inch mower gets through, so I really don't want bigger than the 54, but would love the air ride seat. Do you think it could be ordered that way?

    • @kentonequipment4687
      @kentonequipment4687  20 дней назад

      @@jjwatkins9937 It could be bought through parts, but it's an expensive option. The suspension seat on the 700 is really nice on it's own and would be generally preferred over spending $2,000 just for air ride.

    I got mine lemoned lawed after 3 months. Yes Mower Lemon Lawed lol. Cub cadet then sent me their top of the line zero turn. That was last month and it now is having the same problem. They have already ruled out operator error. Apparently it’s an engine thing. The rep advised of a future recall that will take place on all 22 and 23 models. Yikes.
