Well my friend, if Paul said the day of the Lord will NOT come before the man of lawless is revealed, and Jesus himself said AFTER the tribulation, that should settle the matter. And yet, here we are...

It does not say the Lord will Not come before the man of lawless is Reveled. It says the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed. The only things that needs to come first is the falling away, the man of sin is reveled in the tribulation period.
”Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,“

The very first sentence in verse 29 (KJV) says, "Immediately after the tribulation of those days." I think that is important if you're trying to take the entirety of context into play. Something really helped me to understand Matthew 24. When I read it, I asked myself this question: "Who was it written to?" The Jews. "Who was Jesus speaking to?" The Jews. "Was this before or after the cross?" Before. "Was this before or after the church began at Pentecost?" Before. When I understood that, I realized that Jesus was talking about the SECOND COMING OF CHRIST. Not the rapture of the church.

    • @RobertFurrow
      @RobertFurrow  2 года назад +2

Thanks J, Jesus is talking to Jewish people but he is answering their question. When will these thing be? and what will be the sign of your coming? most of what he say is after the church age. and He is talking about his second coming and the rapture.

    • @eclipsesonic
      @eclipsesonic 2 года назад +1

Mark 13:37 states "And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch." Jesus is clearly not limiting it to just the Jews, but for everyone to watch for His coming, which again, happens AFTER the tribulation (Mark 13:24-26). Also, Jesus said in Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." One of those things that Jesus commanded His disciples was to watch for His coming, which happens AFTER the tribulation and so all nations (Gentiles, who are part of the Church) are to watch for this event also!

    • @John3.36

I agree that context is important, so with that said, I want to ask the question again, as I want to know your take on the points I just made.
Firstly, Why did Jesus say for everyone to watch for His coming, if it's only for the Jewish people?
Secondly, when people say that Matthew 24, Mark 13 and Luke 21 doesn't apply to the Church, how do you reconcile that with the fact that Jesus explicitly commanded His disciples to tell the nations (who are obviously Gentiles and part of the Church age by the time they preach to them and are converted) to observe EVERYTHING that He commanded them, which would by default include the point of watching for Christ's coming AFTER the tribulation. Surely, Jesus would have added a caveat to His command and say "But don't tell them to watch for my coming (as per Matthew 24), as that won't apply to the Church." Jesus was clear in what He said.
I really want to know how a pre-tribber would respond to this. Just to let you know, you're my brother in Christ, I love you and want to have an informative conversation about this, as I'm somewhat on the fence when it comes to the issue of the timing of the rapture.

in reading the comments below i think its important to attempt to promote peace, to my fellow christians, i also used to be a pre-tribulation believer and deacon under this doctrine to and until a few years ago would have sworn by it because that's what i was taught to believe, to my fellow christians who don't believe pre-tribulatoin i urge you to remember the goal of being a christian, the goal is not to attack others the goal is to reach others. I get it, when you realize something you've been taught to believe is wrong and you're on fire for that subject its easy to not realize you're attacking them, its also just as easy for them to feel you're attacking them when you're not which usually means our own conscience is attacking us, but i also realize as a former pre-trib believer that when i realized it was scripturally inaccurate, before i could do a 180 i had to first admit and accept i was wrong for most of my life and as a former deacon who also very briefly preached under that doctrine i had to accept an even harder truth that i used to teach it wrong, which i did ignorantly, pre-trib is what i was taught to believe for as long as i could remember and when i first started questioning it i didn't know any other christians that questioned it, at that time i thought all christians believed pre-trib just like the movies because where i'm from thats just what christians believe, it was through studying scripture objectively willing to accept it for what it says, rather that was what i wanted it to say or not without listening to what i was told to believe that i began to see the error in the doctrine, as a former pre-trib believer i can say attacking them won't work, you'll just create an environment where we're trading shots at each other and nobody wins, in martial arts we have a saying for that, bloodshed only brings more bloodshed, revenge only brings more revenge, don't assume that they're all trying to deceive, most of them really believe this and attacking them isn't going to make them want to hear you. speak the truth in what you've learn, endurance not just escape needs to be taught but speak to them as you would want them to speak to you, something i also need to do better at. we shouldn't lose that fire, its better to be hot or cold not lukewarm we just need to learn to direct that fire, self-control which doesnt mean to lose the fire inside, in the book of James he said if a man claims to be religious and bridles not his tongue his religion is vain, practice self-control and they might actually want to hear what we have to say.

One of the goals was to show man just how good he must be and still not qualify for heaven .The Nation Israel was promised to be blessed in the Land if they obeyed his ordinances and to not prosper when they failed. Israel could not keep the ordinances . We as believers have the same problem. Man is unable to even keep mans' laws. The law was a tutor and we could never measure up on our own or to pay for our sins. God sent his son to die to pay the penalty for our sins. A debt we could never pay.. We still follow the 10 commandments however we as born again believers are not under the law because the Law can't save anyone. Jesus paid for all of our sins past present and future. We try to avoid all sin but realize that when we fail he has forgiven us. This is not freedom to sin. We love the lord and want to avoid sinning because of our love. We do not keep the Sabbath because that was for the Jews. We do however traditionally worship on the 1st day of the week Sunday on out calendar. We do not stone anyone and are not commanded to do so. . I know there are some who teach grace plus works but that is legalism. Wow is fully explained. But what it's really confusing here is:
Why the angels are gathering the chosen ones? (The Jewish) That verse might mean that the angels are taking people to Heaven.
But as far as I know the people who survived the Tribulation (Including the people of Israel) are going to be ruled by Jesus. ( Doing a normal life on Earth). So that verse makes me think that the angels are gathering people to take them to Heaven. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
That's the reason I've always thought Jesus is talking about the Rapture in that verse. 🤔 Cause the ones who are going to be caught up to Heaven is the church before the Tribulation.
And that verse can't mean that the angels are automatically gathering the Jewish on earth (In Israel) to be ruled by Jesus. Cause the Book of Isaiah says that people from all around the world are going to take the Jewish to Israel, (On horses, on boat, etc)
I'm so new to this topic so I might be misunderstanding everything 😅😭😭😭😭

And He who sits on the throne will dwell among them. 16 They shall neither hunger anymore nor thirst anymore; the sun shall not strike them, nor any heat; 17 for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to [c]living fountains of waters. In response to 6:14

If the church which is the body of Christ, is raptured before the tribulation and the Jews will be gathered after the tribulation, why would God rapture part of his body and leave the rest of his body to suffer tribulation? For the church is the body of Christ, one body, Jews or Greek, slave or free (1 Corinthians 12:13).
What makes the church so special that they will be raptured before the chosen people of God and what makes them superior to the Jews? Romans 11:18 says,
“do not consider yourself to be superior to those other branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you.”
    In response to 6:40
The gathering in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 which says “to meet the Lord in the air” is the same in Matthew 24:29-31 “that the Son of man is coming on the clouds of heaven” and the angels are doing the gathering and the elect are getting caught up and meet with Jesus. It did not say that the angels gather them on the ground and meet the Lord on the ground if that what you mean by earth. Just because it doesn't say angels gathering in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 doesn't mean the angels did not gather them and just because it doesn't say the angels blow the trumpet in that same scripture doesn't mean they won't. Who would you say blows the trumpet? Jesus? They have the angels for that. It's like you are implying that the dead rising in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 is not the same resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15:50-52 because they don't have all the details. For Paul says in 1 Corinthians 13:9,
“For we know in part and we prophesy in part”
For if they know in part and prophesy in part, at the time they have those scriptures written they know partially and have not written all the details.
In Revelation 14:1-5 we see the 144,000 in heaven before the throne of God and we also see the great multitude in Revelation 7:9-17 also before the throne of God. Where is the church mentioned that they are before the throne of God and in heaven? For it says that the great multitude come out of the great tribulation and you say that the church are raptured before tribulation. It only makes sense that the church is the great multitude and have experienced the great tribulation. Remember that we are Christ's one body, the church.
In Revelation 20:4-6 says that the beheaded saints are the first resurrection. If the dead in Christ that rises in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 is prior to that resurrection in Rev 20:4-6, then what is the order of that resurrection in 1 Thess 4:13-18? Would you say that is the zero resurrection? It doesn't make sense. 1 Corinthians 15:23 says,
“But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ.”

Matthew 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:"
“The sun be darkened”: Such phenomena are a common feature of the Day of the Lord prophecy (see Isa. 13:9-10; Ezek. 32:7-8; Joel 2:10, 31; 3:15; Amos 8:9). The ultimate fulfillment of these prophecies takes place during the time of the Beast’s reign (Rev. 6:12-13; 8:12).
Matthew 24:30 "And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory."
“The sign of the Son of man”: I.e., the Son of man Himself is the sign. The events described here precisely parallel the description (in Dan. 7:13; Rev. 19:11-21).
“All the tribes of the earth mourn”: I.e., over their own rebellion. Israel in particular, will mourn over their rejection of the Messiah (Zech. 12:10-12).
Jesus went to heaven on a cloud, and the angels told the disciples that were looking on, that He will come back the same way He went. Here is the fulfillment of that prophecy. He truly will come back in the clouds. Then He will not be as of one of us, but in Power and Great Glory. This is when we will see Him in all of His heavenly attire.
We will know for sure who it is with His eyes like flaming fire, white flowing hair, feet like burning brass. Then He will be King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Of course, He has always been that, but then we recognize Him as that.
Matthew 24:31 "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other."
“From one end of heaven to the other”: All the “elect” from heaven and earth are gathered and assembled before Christ. This is the culmination of world history, ushering in the millennial reign of Christ (Rev. 20:4).
Verses 32-33: The illustration of the “fig tree” is referred to as a “parable.” The immediate context seems to refer to the fig tree in a natural (not symbolic), sense. While it is clear in Scripture that Israel is symbolized at times by the fig tree (Chapter 21), the usage here simply seems to be that as these events reach the apex of their fulfillment, the actual and ultimate

In response to 4:40, Trumpets refer to the trumpets that will be blown on the whole world which will be blown by the seven angels(Revelation 8:2). God will not confuse you with any other trumpets like the one you are talking about For God is not a God of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33). The last trumpet in 1 Corinthians 15:52 and Matthew 24:31 is one and the same otherwise the trumpet in Matthew 24:31 will be called “the lastest trumpet” since you believe the rapture is before the tribulation.
You say “on verse 44 you don't know when the son of man is returning” while it says “because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.” We will not know the day and the hour but we know the season from the signs that he told his disciples in Matthew 24. He said he is coming like a thief in the night and we will know when he is coming because we know what is the difference between day and night and we can prepare knowing its almost night time. But when exactly that hour in the night he is coming we do not know. He said “after the tribulation of those days he is coming” but will we exactly know if we are still alive at that time when the end of tribulation is? One would think its just a short break and there is more tribulation coming.
Let me ask this, are we in the day now or in the night, are we in the tribulation or not?
If you say we are in the night or tribulation then pre-trib rapture theory is proved false.
If you say that we are not yet in the tribulation then it is time to be sanctified, purified and made white until the time of the end so that we will be ready for we do not know when we will die. 1 John 3:3 says,
“And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.”
What we will need most to be ready for is for strengthening ourselves to face the the troubles that Jesus told us in Matthew 24 and what was told in Revelation and for strengthening our faith so that we will not fall away.
