Exhibitions like this are always my favorite. This isn't a speedrun, but rather a more pure display of skill. Though I guess in this, just like the exhibitions for stepmania and tetris grandmaster, they're all showing off how fast they can go in a different way
This was what first came to my mind. How would you speedrun Guitar Hero ? It's basically an autoscroller par excellence. But then FrostedGH started mashing that guitar and I was like, oh yea, thats where the speed comes in. Awesome display of skill there. Love the exhibition, this might have gotten me into this kind of content.
One of the great things about it though is that songs are very often sped up in game to effectively make it a speed run. Instead of measuring FC's on a timer, they're measured on song speed percentage. Example: Through the Fire and Flames 150% FC.
I've been staring at the screen for so long in awe of what was happening that when I looked away my world starting shifting upwards as in an optical illusion.
My first exposure to Clone Hero was JasonParadise, so it was cool to see him donate during this. That being said, FrostedGH is an absolute legend and his run here was super hype! Definitely checking him out
Same here, and I bet a lot of peeps can say the same about Jason, seeing as one of the duys on the couch said he's responsible for how big the game is :D. But yeah, frosted is a God. :O
Frosted is apparently a moderator for a twitch streamer that i watch, so one day i went to Frosted's stream and ask him what he did for streams usually. Chat kindly answered "Like, 95% clone hero" from about 40 people. I caught wind about him going to AGDQ from his twitter and was like "Nah, im gonna be awake for that"
37:20 This part is so absurdly well played, It was like nobody expected him to FC that section and I find myself going back and watching it over and over again.
This whole thing was so amazing. TTFATF was basically nothing after those other charts, but all the nostalgia we bring to it, and Frosted’s unreal skill, made it almost emotional. “Hearing this song in this atmosphere makes it like ten times better”.
SecundusRomanus I was right by the door of the stream room, and watching it after the fact doesn’t do it justice. There was something magical about hearing it live.
I came into this expecting some boring exhibition, and I can't apologize enough for my ignorance. This entire run had me FLOORED, I'm still picking up pieces of my jaw from when it shot into the ground. Amazing performance. Mind blown.
rockdaniel123 he has a 100% FC of this song already btw, fc means full combo meaning that you hit every single note in a row without breaking combo once i.e no misses
@@goldminer1815 Don't forget, 100% accuracy is no misses. Full combo also means he never strummed one too *many* times. So, accurate amount of hits, precise timing and movement, the whole shebang.
GDQ should honestly just have a rhythm game block. More of this, maybe some OSU! alongside some vs stuff. Throw in a few classic games like Parappa or DDR with gimmick stuff and you have a solid show with a different flavor than the typical speedruns while still keeping the spectacle and skill.
Andrew Gan he said on an AMA thread afterwards that when he FC’d past Machinations A in Soulless 4 that was the most nervous he had gotten in the entire showcase.
stuehleruecker let me be very clear. FrostedGH has been doing this for over a decade. He plays almost everyday and hour a few hours at a time. So he has the experience of all that time combined. Plus he was practicing the songs he would play in the showcase for months beforehand. So he knew exactly what to do in each song and when to do it.
I remember seeing a video years ago of someone getting an FC of Through the Fire and Flames, and it blew my mind. Imagine how I feel now! Thanks for the amazing showcase, and for an introduction to a community I didn't even know existed. I'm off to listen to the other Souless tracks now!

The Dan's from Playframe brought me here and honestly, I'm glad I watched this. This is amazing and I'm in awe that anyone can perform like this. It's great seeing people this skilled and passionate about things and using the talent for a good cause.
Guitar Hero was my first introduction of learning an instrument and I always laughed at the real artists of songs fail hard on GH. Now that I've become really proficient with a guitar, I can't even imagine going back to GH. But it's amazing to see the emergence of Clone Hero, the community the revolves around it, and to see what players are able to make and accomplish with the tools at hand. Mad respect to FrostedGH and the rest of the CH community.
If you think about it, he's kind of speedrunning his own body in order to play those tracks ever so slightly better/quicker/more precise than the last time. Love showcases like this, always get's the crowd hype as well. I remember an open source DDR-like game being one of the highlights of the event a couple of years ago as well.
I haven't noticed anyone pick up on that, the stage lights up there messed with my eyes quite a lot. Since I had most of the songs I was playing down to muscle memory, I could afford to rest my eyes a few times :)
They need a speed run category where you go through a game setlist on clone hero and you choose the speed of the song and have to pass each song, so you can go theoretically as fast as you can play a song. Would add a more interesting dynamic to the scene thats not just fc everything
Front Door Guy: Welcome to The Salty Spittoon. How tough are you? FrostedGH: How tough am I? I play The Devil Went Down To Georgia on Guitar Hero. Front Door Guy: Yeah so? FrostedGH: at 175% speed. Front Door Guy: I'm sorry. Go right in.

Yeah, displays like this should give every speed runner the confidence to go for those "TAS-only" strats... xD
One of the great things about it though is that songs are very often sped up in game to effectively make it a speed run. Instead of measuring FC's on a timer, they're measured on song speed percentage. Example: Through the Fire and Flames 150% FC.

Thanks mate
I can't even handle over half of these
does anyone know the name of the song that was overlayed onto crisis city?
it doesn't exist, it was made just for the chart by soinhumane, it's also not at all the generations version
The Devil Went Down to Georgia but he was in a hurry.
I've been staring at the screen for so long in awe of what was happening that when I looked away my world starting shifting upwards as in an optical illusion.
This happens to me every time I play the game lol.
yeah the highway were the notes show up does do that almost every time. it's just an optical illusion caused by your eyes adjusting to the movement
The same happened to me lol
just like the good old days
There’s a song that’s basically two hours of Dragonforce solos. By the time I was done, everything was moving up in my eyes.

I don't even think Frosted thought he was gonna hit it, if you look at his face while he absolutely shreds it.

Hearing the crowd singing along to the chorus of TTFATF sent chills down my spine.

everyone: there is no way to speedrun clone hero
GDQ: hold my tasbot
It's a showcase, not a speedrun
I mean technically, he did speed run Devil Went Down to Georgia
Fantastic showcase for the CH community and rhythm games overall!!
Great job Frosted and all the people on the couch!
24:39 OMFG, 8987 in 9005 means 18 mistakes, which is less than 0.2%

DDR with a mat and Parappa the Rapper on GDQ. I'd pay to see that.
rhythm heaven too
@@Yadowing God I want to do a DDR X Discos story speedrun so bad, too bad money is a thing
OSU! The Pc Game By Peppy Being Shown At AGDQ Might be something some of you want! Who is with me?!
Did anyone else notice that in Soulless 4. He did Robotic Solo one-handed. Including the ending of the section
Yes
I almost cry with TTFATF. Such an epic song plus the crowd singing made the nostalgia 100 times stronger
Dude I remember watching this at work with amazement and awe, then hearing the crowd sing the chorus of TTFAF brought a tear to my eye.
Let’s goooo! Clone Hero RULES and Frosted KILLED IT!!!
Jesus. I can listen and watch "Through the fire and honks" all day long. This is just amazing! One of my highlights of this years AGDQ!
That consistency on Soulless 4...

Me, after: "I am enlightened. Praise be."
It's a showcase, not a speedrun
This guy was amazing to watch. And when Meglovania started it just got better.
This is the wildest thing I’ve ever seen I think.
Unreal skills from FrostedGH.
I actually watched this twice just trying to process what I saw
HISH same
Great to see the gh community and rhythm games in general get a spotlight here
What an obscenely hype crowd, what a masterful runner, this run brought tears to my eyes!
I keep checking my settings to make sure I'm not on 1.5x speed
Lmao imagine watching Devil on 2X speeds.
Edit: I take it back. Dont. Verses go by in like, 3 seconds.
still can't believe 37:22 solo got FC'd live on AGDQ
Imagine having to follow up this performance. Just outstanding.
absolutely incredible run and runner, huge respect for what frostedgh can do
This was a blast to watch live, and amazing to know we might get more of this content in later GDQ's!
wow never thought that playing guitar hero could make you an actual rockstar
how, how can someone play so fast??? and correct in the same time??? my eyes are slower as his fingers! is he human at all? did somebody before check?
it's a lot of just memorizing patterns and building up speed
