As the art world prepares to celebrate the 150th Anniversary since the birth of Impressionism, Sotheby’s is thrilled to partner with prolific voices across the cultural landscape to illuminate the legacy of the Impressionist movement. In this episode of Expert Voices, join Willem van Gogh, great grand-nephew of Vincent van Gogh and Advisor to the Board of the Van Gogh Museum and Emilie Gordenker, Director of the Van Gogh Museum as they take us through the van Gogh family tree and offer a behind the scenes glimpse into the museum and its work around preserving legacy and plans for the future.
From March - May 2024, Sotheby’s will host an exciting programme of auctions, events and talks in London, Paris and New York will honour the figures that shaped the cultural landscape for more than a century alongside Contemporary artists who have been inspired by the spirit of Impressionism.

Her mother was Dutch, she went to school in the Netherlands. She spent a lot of time there as a child. She was the Director of the Mauritshuis for 12 years. One of her grandfathers was also director of the Mauritshuis.
