  • What makes the Impressionism art movement one of the most influential and popular movements in art history? In this video, I explain 5 Impressionism art characteristics that will help you understand what makes these paintings so captivating.
    Once you understand these characteristics, you’ll be able to more easily identify an Impressionist painting. When you walk into that Impressionist gallery at art museums, you’ll know what it is that gives you those good vibes. From Claude Monet, to Renoir, to Degas, to Pissaro, these Impressionist artists did something spectacular and watching this video is a great introduction into their world of art.

      Marie Braquemond painted I think it was her sister Louise with book in hand and eyes cast to one side in thought. Her hands strongly shown in the shadow of the open book.

    Some impressionistic painters also used to say that their paintings were meant to be thought of as a scene you might see out of the corner of your eye or if you were squinting your eyes. Basically the impression of an image.
