There is this thingy called «oralmedic» or something and basically its this little q-tip thingy that u break and put on the ulcer and it literally burns it away, idk if its good for you but it hurts like hell in the moment but it actually gets rid of the ulcer for good its honestly the only thing to remove it completely, fast. But you do have to push this acid thing against your cancer sore for 20 seconds.

Fun fact from my dentist: just like every other thing in the female body, canker sores appearing can also depend on the menstrual cycle, so :')))))))
(general rule of thumb I've noticed is that if its caused by stress it can also be caused by the menstrual cycle bc hormones and all that)

It's super annoying when it's at an area where your tongue reaches and then touches the sore because it's in the way of natural tongue's movement.
Even more than pain ,the feeling of annoyance when the tongue touches the sore is unbearable.

I've been getting them since I was young and people in my family have all had them. Wasn't until like 7 months ago that I found out that getting canker sores isn't something that happens to everyone which blew my mind.
I'm 35 now and I've had canker sore since I was 5. Some times I get 2 at a time. When I was a kid the doctor gave me something that resembles a match to cauterized it. It was very painful for a min but it's basically instant relief. 30 years later I still get them and don't use any kind of treatment. I'm so used to them now I don't even notice I have one unless it's on bottom gum and hurts like he'll when food hits it. I just deal with it......

Same. I always feel hungry before meal time, especially when it's brunch and lunchtime. So I often eat too fast that I accidentally bite by lip or tongue.
I currently have kanker sore myself. But it's not from that (accidental biting) though. It's because I brushed too fast and "aggressive".

there's also canker patches which you can buy at the pharmacy. They stick onto your inner lip and cover the canker sore long enough for it to heal properly.

I can usually deal with the ones on the insides of my lip or inside the cheeks just fine, but I just got one on the bottom right side of my tongue which is such a bad spot because it gives horrible pain whenever I simply talk or eat. The worst part is since its on the side of my tounge it also hurts my ear when I talk and eat too ;_;

When I got my wisdom teeth removed last month, I got something like 9 canker sores at the same time. So even when the pain of the procedure was gone, I still couldn't eat comfortably because of all the sores

Canker sores are one of those things "no pain, no gain". I've used numbing stuff even a brand called canka specifically made for canker sores, but application was painful and the numbness went away quick, leaves a terrible taste and most importantly made the sore last longer than 2 weeks which is clearly worse. The best thing to do is lick the tip of your finger, dip it in salt, I mean really get a good layer of salt on your finger, and then press the salt into the sore, I literally let the sore do the work and let it scoop up the salt. EXTREMELY PAINFUL, but once the pain crests the sore goes numb from endorphins and adrenaline, yeah it hurts that bad, but I've had sores cover themselves up overnight from this method, never had to go longer than a week even for big ones, my mom says salt dries the wound out and let's it heal quickly. I think salt makes the wound hurt like hell, therefore the body focuses on healing that and in the meantime the endorphins help you live a normal life while Satan lives in your mouth
My worst was in college when I was getting multiple each month. Sometimes multiple at one time. I literally always had one. After a graduated they magically went away. I have no idea what exactly caused them but I think it was due to stress, and lack of mouth care. I brush my teeth daily now and I used to skip multiple days in college. I think this was the biggest cause. It's not like stress magically went away either, but it definitely decreased. I also had a much better diet afterwards

It just healed last night for me and RUclips recommends this video today, what a great feeling to learn about something after escaping from it 🤣
Here’s what I’ve found helps a lot - take a Gaviscon antacid. Chew it up into a slurry. Hold the slurry in your mouth over the sore bathing it in the non-acidic solution. (Or hold the tablet briefly against the sore until it starts to dissolve.) The pain will lessen, and the healing will speed up.

There are tabs that you can stick onto canker sores to keep them covered. I’ve only seen them in Japan though. Super effective!!!

I used to get these ALL THE TIME. Got recommended by my doctor to try a toothpaste that doesn't have sodium lauryl sulfate (a foaming agent) in it and it literally changed my life. I very rarely get them now and they heal super quick when I do get them. The toothpaste is always super expensive but it's so worth it.
Sounds like a recurring allergy situation with all these comments about that toothpaste ingredient.
Yup. I'm surprised they didn't mention SLS free toothpastes. At least a couple of studies have suggested that it can reduce canker sore incidence for some people. Anecdotally, it works for me.

The only one I know of and use is Sensodyne.
The prescription, Triamcinolone Acetonide, has been the most helpful for my reoccurring aphthous lesions. It’s a topical dental paste that you use to cover the sore at bedtime (so you don’t wear off the medicine by talking or eating). Between coconut oil pulling and the Triamcinolone Acetonide, it is MUCH easier to manage the canker sores.

I have been getting them for as long as I remember. I have tried many medications, but I can absolutely say there is no absolute treatment for it. However, there are ways to help you deal with them. For instance, taking folic acid (or Vitamin B12) and iron tablets every day can make them appear less frequently. Secondly, I have noticed that wherever I eat wheat-based products (such as chapatis, breads etc) for a prolonged period of time (>1-2 weeks), I get canker sores, so try avoiding wheat. Third, if you got few right now, then before sleeping (important!) apply some plain table salt on it (with the help of a match stick or cotton swab), it will hurt like hell for a minute, but next day, I promise you >50% alleviation. I tried many methods to treat these, but I have found salt method to be the most effective. Good luck, and know you are not alone!
Bruh ppl keep saying salt water n I’ve been doing that since I found out I got a canker sore and it hurts so bad it doesent work it numb for 1 minute then the stinging comes back

Canker sores suuuuck, I get very painful ones all the time and I've been told by dentists and doctors that they're likely just stress-based so there's not a ton I can do. BUT, the number one thing I have done to prevent them is switch toothpaste! I am shocked you didn't mention this in the video since it made such a big difference for me, but I was recommended to start using tooth paste without Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, and that has helped quite a bit.
I second this! My dad and I both suffer from frequent canker sores(though he does get them less frequently now, so maybe there's hope for my future) but we both use toothpastes without SLS and it makes all the difference. One brush with any other toothpaste will guarantee maybe three fresh canker sores the next day for me.

Long ago, I used to get canker sores on a frequent basis. I was quite anxious, so that may have been a factor. They were so bad that, during college, I occasionally went into Student Health to have them cauterized, if that is the correct term. The doc or nurse would use a long, thin stick dipped in something and run that over the surface of the sore. It was not especially painful, oddly enough, but it seemed to burn away the sore and leave normal flesh. It sounds a touch medieval, but it worked. Wonder what that miracle substance was?
I have RAS, and I would not wish it on my worst enemy. If I so much as scratch the inside of my mouth, I will get an ulcer. If I am stressed because of school or work, here comes another one. I have had up to 5 in my mouth at the same time, and I rarely go more than 2 weeks without one. I have tried everything under the sun for treatment, and the sad part is I have to ask my doctors for treatments, because none of them know how to treat them. Even dentists I have been to don't know the best treatments. I recently tried a medication called Debacterol, which is basically a sulfuric acid solution that debrides the ulcer. It burned like CRAZY, but after 15 seconds the ulcer no longer hurt! I now have a white spot where the ulcer was that feels like a big numb patch, but at least it doesn't hurt anymore! I want to try that fluocinonide that you mentioned, as I had never come across that in my research. Also, to my fellow canker sore sufferers, use BIOTENE TOOTHPASTE if you don't want it to hurt while brushing your teeth!

I just chew my lip all the time, so I have 1 more often than not. They don't even hurt anymore half the time. When they do hurt, I just swish around salt water to numb it.

It worked for me but after 5 minutes I feel pain again and have to do it over and over again so I bought a tiny bottle of a medicine to apply it on the canker sore and it works a lot better, you can find it in Walmart where the toothpaste aisle is at.

When i was a child,i used to get blisters on my lips(outside).so when i saw these yellow spots INSIDE my lip,i just thought it was a blister,blisters dont hurt much so i didnt really care.but then,the pain,the horrible pain,i felt it and i knew it was not a blister so i searched what is the yellow spot inside my mouth and this popped up

I used to get several canker sores a month for as long as I can remember, some were a centimeter wide and sometimes I'd have several at once, and all of them hurt like heck. About three years ago I started learning about 'good' (beneficial) and 'bad' bacteria in the gut microbiome, and I wondered if the same thing was happening in my mouth with its own microbiome. I used mouthwash every time I brushed my teeth, so I figured maybe something in my mouth was protecting me from canker sores, and maybe I was washing it out when I used the mouthwash?
To test that hypothesis, I quit using mouthwash for a year while continuing to brush my teeth twice a day. I was surprised that I didn't have a single canker sore for that entire year. To further test the idea, I then bought a relatively tame organic mouthwash and used it for a week, and I ended up getting a canker sore at the end of the week. After that week, I quit using mouthwash altogether and I still brush my teeth with Sensodyne twice a day, and I haven't had a canker sore for the past two years.
I can't guarantee that abstaining from using mouthwash will work for you, but it definitely works for me. If you try this, make sure you use a toothpaste that doesn't have any antibiotics in it, and make sure you Only brush your teeth (don't use any mouthwash or mouth rinse, only rinse with plain water if necessary).
Remember - canker sores are Not cold sores! Cold sores are caused by a variant of the herpes simplex family of viruses, and canker sores currently aren't fully understood what causes them and why some people get them and others don't. This mouth microbiome protection idea will Not get rid of cold sores.

It's kinda upside-down for me in that, if I get one, it helps a lot to use mouthwash at least twice a day to keep it clean. This way it will heal much faster. I exclusively use 'One drop-only' mouthwash though (it's a German brand). It's demonstrably very different from something like listerine, in that you really only mix two drops ('one drop' is actually their toothpaste slogan) with 10ml of water, and it might very well be nothing but mint oil. Not sure, but works fine for me.
Taking probiotics seem to help mine as well. I've cut out mouthwash too. I just rinse with water after I floss and brush as usual.
Interesting! My mom had them exactly as you described for many years. It was awful for her. Hers finally went away after she went through radiation treatment for brest cancer. I suspect that something in her body was killed by the radiation. Possibly the same thing that your mouth microbiom protects you against.
PS, I've heard for long time that a mouth microbiome does exist and that we should not use mouthwash for that very reason.
I used to get them and working as a hospital maternity nurse ...... your stress levels did not go away nor lessen appreciatively. Now back in the 1970 & 80s, silver nitrate sticks were used to ‘burn’ them out. Oh my yes, when that stuff hits the canker sore, *$@#&%!!.....😳🤬...... but it worked (when that was used, it only hurt during the process, no pain after). Now, I doubt that it’s still used for this anymore. I switched to the alcohol-free ACT brand mouthwash and I rarely ever get them now.
I discovered that mine were a reaction to sodium laurel sulfate.... It's in like 95% of mouthwash and toothpaste.
