Sarah!! I'm a auto-dicatic. This is an amazing exercise!! I really can "feel" better the flow of the bow and as you say it perfectly, to "express myself" better with it. Thank you very VERY much!!!
Yay!! Glad to see another tutorial again! These are always so cool to me and like little lessons I can look back on at any time. And I can see you’re getting more comfortable in front of the camera, too. Not that you ever seemed really uncomfortable, but I can see you’re more relaxed and open, if that’s the right word. This is very helpful and something I’ve been curious about for a bit but haven’t asked about it yet. I just have one question: When you change how many you put in a bow, do you keep it at the same tempo but just play like sixteenths or thirty-seconds? Keep being an awesome musician and teacher, Sarah!! You’ve taught us all a ton!
Thanks Faith! So, the tempo in general should stay the same regardless of how many you put in a bow, but I do make small exceptions (hence the metronome abandonment).
Hi Sarah! Sorry for the silly question. But just started playing and have a beginner issue. When I bow it quickly goes into harmonic and not the fundamental note that I’m trying to produce. Any thoughts?
Hi! That’s not a silly question. :) There could be several causes and it’s tough to answer when I’m not watching you play. However, you may try experimenting with the balance of pressure, placement of the bow (between bridge and end of fingerboard), and speed. My guess is that you are using too fast of a bow, without enough pressure, maybe too close to the bridge. Also, check to make sure your bow has enough rosin. Hope this helps!

No problem! I was excited to share it.
I couldn't help notice the tambourine on your shelf. When can we expect some tambourine tutorials?
Haha I'm afraid I'm not qualified to teach that particular instrument.

Sarah, could you make 'someone like you' cello tutorial?
Hi, Sarah 😍🌈🌼😘🐰💖😇🌹
You grew and look differently better
Thank you! I feel differently better. :)
Cello bowing sounds so much more complicated than violin bowing. lol
