In Brady's 23 year career he played as starters for 21 seasons, minus his rookie season and 2008 injured season. You can divide his career into three 7-season durations: 2001-2007, 2009-2015, 2016-2022. Kurt Warner is in the Hall of Fame based on 5 or 6 excellent seasons with 3 Super Bowl appearances and one ring then Brady can have THREE hall of fame careers!
2001-2007: 4 SB appearances, 3 rings, 1 MVP. His early developmental years and a record breaking 2007 season.
2009-2015: 3 SB appearances, 1 ring, 1 MVP. His physical prime and stats accumulating years.
2016-2022: 4 SB appearances, 3 rings, 1 MVP. His sublime autumnal years that defies father time.
I don't even need to talk about rings. My metric is pretty simple: the QB with the most playoff wins is the best. To me, every playoff win is the Super Bowl because it's a single game elimination process and you can't get to the Super Bowl without the previous wins. Aaron Rodgers once said legacy is built in the postseason as playing well in the regular season is just to earn your paycheck. Great stats in the regular seasons are there to prove you're majorly responsible for postseason appearances but what good is it if you get bounced in the first round. Peyton Manning was great but he had one and done NINE times in the postseasons. Brady played 48 playoff games and that's equivalent of THREE full regular seasons on top of his 21 active seasons! With 35 wins at the top and the guy next to him, Montana, has 16. Brady has more than double over him. On that note, Brady as a Patriot played and won more games and championship than Joe Montana and Steve Young as 49ers combined and that's two hall of fame careers right there. The ones after Montana's record are the usual suspects like Peyton, Elway, Bradshaw, Favre, et al...
Let's sum it up: the man has the rings and stats on top of leadership, longevity, and competitiveness to be on the Mount Rushmore of the sport. Magnificent career!

@@eprop002 It would be nice. He definitely can still do it. Just depends how mentally exhausted he is. I think right now he just needs time. My divorce changed my life a lot and I was not blindsided with the cheating and her leaving. After some time and the right team being proactive. You just never know.
Although with all the QB injuries this year and to be honest the NFL's lack of action. They do a lot of PR work. Yet no consistency in calls.
I can understand. As opposed to most players that retire he is relatively healthy. I wish him well and still hope a team that is ready pushes hard and convinces him.

I like to think I know Tom Brady a little. He really did not want to retire,
but he felt that after showing Tampa Bay what it feels like and what it takes to become Superbowl Champions, they really did nothing to fortify the team to ensure they became a Dynasty.
He did not think the team was going to really improve enough next year to win it all, and I am also sure he did not want to go through the indignity of trying to CONVINCE another team that he brings intangibles that cannot be quantified and that he is STILL THE GREATEST QB to EVER PLAY.
He will enter the NFL Hall of Fame before New England wins another AFC EAST Title and Tom Brady will probably become a grandfather before New England ever wins another AFC Championship or Superbowl. This is also the fate of Tampa Bay.
Tom Brady absolutely STANDS ALONE as the greatest QB to EVER play in the NFL.
He is absolutely Peerless. He stands alone atop the Pantheon of Greatest NFL QB's.
There are at least 20 Records that Tom Brady possesses that will NEVER BE BROKEN:
Most combined career passing yards (102,614)
    Most combined career touchdowns (737)
Most consecutive seasons on a winning team (21)
Oldest QB to win an AFC and NFC title
Most Super Bowl wins by a starting quarterback (7)
Most Times appearing in a SuperBowl as a Starting QB (10)
Only QB to Win a SuperBowl in 3 Different Decades
Only QB to Win 5 SuperBowl MVP's
Most Yards thrown in a SuperBowl (505)
Most Pass Attempts in a SuperBowl (62)
Most Pass Completions in a SuperBowl(43)
Most Career Game Winning Drives to win a SuperBowl (6)
Most Career Completions in the SuperBowl (277)
Most career TD's in the Playoffs (88)
Most Career Pass attempts in the SuperBowl(421)
    Most Division Titles (19)
Oldest player to win NFL MVP (40 years old)
Only NFL QB to beat all 32 NFL teams
Most Wins by a starting quarterback (251)
Most Career Passing Yards in the Post Season (13,400)
His professionalism, fire, willpower and competitiveness will be missed.
Tom Brady is the Best of the Best

Thanks for all your hard work bro.
I was excited thinking he was going to the niners. They may not have a QB for a year with the injuries. Trey and Purdy are serious they will probably require a year to heal and most likely 2 before they might be back. I am hoping they call him after March 15 and give that play for your beloved home team.
I think this is an emotional retirement.
    After the year he had.
Although I think this is probably it. The Bucs are my most hated Team now for messing up his final year. It is a sad day. Although with the NFL's social agenda's and lack of player safety. It is all just lip service. I have been wanting to stop supporting them. But with Brady I was compelled to watch.
