I know you have been on a hair journey as of late haha BUT as a fellow fine hair gal, I would love an updated video on your favorite hair care products specifically for fine hair. I really want to find something to give my hair beautiful shine without weighing it down so much! XOXO
Asian beauty brands definitely favor contour over bronzer, which is why that "bronzer" was so grey toned. Looking tanned isn't a really big trend in China, Japan, Korean, etc. They tend to focus on brightening. The products look beautiful though!
I’ve been using the gel nail strips for about 6months now and right now I have a pink butterfly 🦋 design on that’s been on for over two weeks now. I’ve been wearing gloves to do dishes and that’s helped immensely with keeping them on. They are so nice. My nails have actually grown out so much since I started wearing the gels. And very easy to take off. Love them. ❤❤
Let's talk curlers, y'all. I'm a girl who likes a bit of a vintage look. I have a middy cut and shoot for that Liz Taylor 1950s look and am reasonably successful.. I mix a bit of old school setting lotion (I use Lotta Body) mixed with water and sprayed on my hair until my hair is damp, but not wet. I then use foam rollers and let my hair air dry for a couple of hours (or overnight). I brush it out until I get the look and shape that I want. And no heat damage to my hair. Rachel would hate the curls I get because she wants that beachy waves look, but for any of you out there seeking to be a bit vintage, you might like this.
I think you should look up roller placement for the look you want. That seems to be the issue you have with the curlers you try. They would look how you want if they were place right.
100% agree.. She always tries these different rollers but apparently doesn’t know how to use them or how to use them for the look she wants. It drives me nuts.. LOL. Maybe look up a RUclips tutorial.. (there’s an idea 💡) 😂
I just love how relateable you are--that would be sooo how I looked if I used those curlers!! 🤪Thank you for making us all feel better the first time we try some new beauty product. 💖
I tried a few different curlers, my favorite though is rolling them up around my fingers while wet and fixing them with bobby pins. I have thick and heavy hair, so it takes forever to dry, but the result is nice and doesn't hurt while sleeping. Plus, by spreading your fingers(or not) while curling, you can adjust the size of the curls
My favorite semi-cured nail strips are Dashing Diva's GLAZE line (not the gloss or glow). Highly reccomend! They stay on for at least 2 weeks. Better than Ohora in my opinion. I def recommend cutting off a little more close to your nail (but enough to leave extra to buff away).
Oh Rachel I’m just turning 70 and when I was a teenager I had curlers just like those except they were heated. You know the saying what’s old is new again! Lol P.S I must say I do love your videos since I’ve found your channel a couple of weeks ago. All I can say is yah for Ont! Lol
I am loving that lip color on you, like a lot. I just purchased that long velvet piece that you sleep in and I also have thin hair and while I loved the curls that I got from it my ends looked frizzed out because my hair is so thin but I took my hands and ran them underwater and then just kind of touched the bottom inch of my hair and as it dried the frizz went away. I was left with beautiful curls that I could brush out and they stayed all day.
OMG soooo excited to see you using a Chinese beauty brand as a long time Chinese fan of yours❤ However, I would definitely admit that the brand values visual much much more than usage, which is the reason why I do have several products from this brand, but never used a single one of them actually as makeup product, but for collection purposes. Love you❤❤❤
The curlers remind me of my favorite ones from years ago. The only difference is you didnt posh the top down onto them bc they were all rubbery & you folded it down over itself after your hair is in it. They've worked better than any other ever for me. I wish i could afford these to try them!
@@Laura-xg3yw yeah, I can't either off the top of my head. They were by ConAir & the 2 different sizes were teal & coral if I remember correctly. These new ones are by ConAir too.
Lock & roll curlers, I still have mine! It has 3 sizes; 8 oz each size. They are like rubber, mini wine glasses. You roll the hair around the stem and fold the top over. I have fine hair and these have always worked for me! I always keep an eye out for them at Goodwill and thrift stores!
I had similar hair curlers in the 80’s. They were similarly shaped but made of silicone and folded over. I remember twisting my hair before rolling and having spiral curls.
Rachel, LOVE THESE VIDEOS! For those nail stickers, do you have an update on how they were to take off? I have major issues with weak nails when I use gel nails of any kind. hoping this might be an alternative, but I don't want to rip my nail bed off in the process. Thank you!
I Love how you quote your kids and nieces. It should be a rule. My husband and I speak our kid quotes constantly and it makes everything more humorous. 🥰😍❤ Love love love
As someone who also has very fine hair, that Does Not hold curl, I was super jealous of the curls as soon as they came out, even before you adjusted them 😄
Hey Rachel, you mentioned in a couple of videos that your nail polish always chips. Did you try breathable nail polish? I have a similar problem and breathable nail polish works really well. With me it lasts for about four or five days as long as I use the base and top coats as well. They last a bit longer when I use gloves when doing the dishes.
I agree with Lo about the nails. That design kinda looks like chipped nail polish. I would of painted my nails a solid color and then put those on top.
Next time you use the rollers , use a texture spray on your roots and mid shaft of your hair . That will help the rollers have something to curl. The curls will look better than they did the first time!!
I've seen a few people review the Florasis collection and it seems like it's not so flattering on most people but it is beautiful and I think it's meant to be displayed on your vanity or whatever more than it's meant for a full face beat uk
A video of you getting your seasonal colors done would be awesome, I got mine done online since I don’t live anywhere that has businesses that do it. It’s helped me pick make up colors that work for my undertone, especially bronzer colors which I struggled with and tried and bought too many. Enjoy watching you try stuff out!
I don’t have instagram, but I look forward to watching you daily! You crack me up! Congratulations on making your dreams come true! I would love to meet you, but I will watch your show regardless. I do have instagram…so I’ll attempt this confusion to enter! Congrats again!
dashing diva do the gel nail stickers and I love them, the only thing including full on gel nails that I can get to last on my poor oily health care hands lol. they have a semi cured version and I just bought some to try and now i'm super excited to try them! I used to have the steam curlers set that were sponges to do my super long hair, I had 3 sets of the curlers to do all my hair, that set would do like 1/8 of my hair but it did great curls.
I have been using the semi cured gel nails (not the brand you used today) but I have found as girl who is also hard on her nails, these do last longer with way less work.
My hair is also fine. With curlers, i never know what the results will be. I had also tried velcro rollers and getting them out was a pain. These days, i use the Kitsch hair rods.
Instantly a no go with the makeup brand you said was beautiful. Sunflower allergies are real. With your nut allergies I am very surprised sunflower seeds/oil/etc don't bug you
I LOVE Florasis! 😍🥰 Their eyeshadow palettes, highlighters and lipsticks are spectacular. The palette you tried is definitely going to be for a pretty specific skin tone. You should try their eyeshadows. 👍🏻
@@ShesFromTheFire I was worried too, but they are pigmented. They aren’t Melt Cosmetics pigmented, but more like Charolette Tilbury pigmented. They are very unique and stunning. @@ShesFromTheFire Chinese make-up, just like Korean and Japanese, go for lighter pigment in general. I've also seen that it is often a bit chalky on darker skintones. So something to consider that there are differences with western make-up. Glitters, however, can be spectacular!

I know you have tried multiple brow gels. My problem is the hair on my brows is very fine. I’d like something to put on them to make the color stand out more. Thanks!
Dashing Diva has a semi cure gel nail and they work okay. The only thing I didn’t like was they didn’t seem to stretch very good. Not sure if I was doing it wrong or what. Are the Jelcie stretchy ones?
I buy the Dashing Diva nails sold online by Dashing Diva or Ulta online (some Ulta's sell them in store). They have stayed on for way over a week. A few days into wearing them your nails may start to catch on the sides from normal usage or grow out and then I put a clear gel nail top (UV Light cure kind). That is how I get the nails to last longer. I love them and half the ladies at my work using them now instead of us going to the nail shop. So much healthier for my nails, I don't have to be away from home for 1-2 hours getting my nails done every other week and I am saying so much money. NOT a sponsored quote, I am just a regular old customer, but I have no shame adding a couple hashtags. Lol #dashingdivanails #dashingdiva #ulta
