Probably what would most likely happen would be you wouldn’t have a loser dad or an ideal dad, you would have a regular man, doing his best and sometimes failing or making mistakes, just like all human beings. I think men and women are starting to think if I don’t have the “ideal” it’s not worth it. I have been happily married for 27 years, neither me or my husband are flawless, we have strengths and weaknesses, we have had to learn to be patient and understanding of each other, to forgive and ask for forgiveness. Just a regular marriage between two non-perfect people ( who aren’t abusive) is enough to show kids that a marriage is worth building and worth fighting for and your children with not only have parents but their children will have grandparents who are stable and stay together. I think the greatest gift we have given our young adult children is two parents who have decided to be together and are happy to do so.

Motherhood was nothing special even before that ultra/extreme feminist turn when it comes to societal perception. Motherhood wasn't given the respect it deserved. It was taken for granted. We cannot expect different outcomes from next generations when all people truly cared and care about is "bringing money to the table". Who earns money, earns respect. These next generations of women observed and adapted.

She had a cleaner, drove a car and lived a very comfortable life. • @vincentpinto1127
      @vincentpinto1127 6 месяцев назад

And the reason that there are more laws is because human beings are intrinsically sinful. That is, in the absence of an external governing/regulating force/entity, a human being will always override the interest of another to the interest of themselves or of those who they have an interest in.
The state inevitably is corrupt because it is composed of sinful human beings who intrinsically are corrupt.
There is one, and ONLY one, exception to corruption/sinfulness among human beings. With ALL others who have ever lived, are living, and will live, it is only a matter of degree of corruptness/sinfulness.
In other words, except for one human being, there is NONE who is NOT corrupt. And an intrinsic tragedy of the corruption of the mind is if I, first, cant recognize and, then, acknowledge this fact.

Years ago, I worked for a technical company and I was a mid-level HR professional. There was a woman there who had worked hard and became the Accounting Director. One time when talking to her, she told me that she wished she had spent more time with her children. That this all came at the cost of being not the kind of mother she had now wished she had been. And I think this is as true now as it has always been. At the time I did not have any children. When I had two children, I quit my professional job and became a full time mother and I have never regretted that. A career will never fulfill you the way being a mother will. I understood this when my two children were 2 and 3 and I was sitting in yet another meeting that took up most of my days, and I felt an overwhelming sense of "who cares?" The most empowered I had ever felt was watching my child grow just from my breast milk. That was empowering not any job or position I have ever held!

the main thing about shame is people don't understand how to process it and so the obvious solution to the ignorant is to rationalize a way out of the feeling, ignore it, or simply spin perception that its not actually a shameful thing, whatever it may be. part of the pressure is people performing the role that drives the ignorant to do this by shaming them rather than allowing the person to shame themselves, if people are without this distraction they can process it basically. of course the only way a sex worker can learn this is if the clients shame themselves into maturity and she goes broke.

Both points you make are true. But prohibition also reduces access which in turn reduces use. Never has there been less alcohol abuse than during the Prohibition era. So acknowledging the downside to prohibition, we have to ask ourselves which downside/upside is preferrable.
Also, we have a very Hollywood'ized picture of what the Prohibition era actually was. Imagine when people 100 yrs from now watch movies of this day and age. They'll think everyone carried guns, shot people in the street because they got ketchup instead of mustard, and everyone wore superhero jumpsuits. The Prohibition era wasn't even close to the "Gangs roamed every street and everyone was still an alcoholic" idea of history the movies make us think it was.

  • @Devastish
    @Devastish 6 месяцев назад +12

While listening to this, I was reminded of a study about Hazing culture and it's effects on how people perceived the benefits, and how this makes me a bit skeptical of the data surrounding "happy" marriages.
Basically, when a group has some sort of hazing practice, such as a college fraternity, the members of the group value their membership in that group more than membership in a group that does not have such a practice. The more intense the hazing, the more they valued their membership.
Some of this is undoubtedly the result of justification behavior, IE: I underwent this experience to become a member of the group, therefore, the membership must be worth it. If it wasn't worth it, then why did I agree to do this? Why did anyone ever agree to do this?
The end conclusion was that people value something more if they have had to make a sacrifice for it (in this case, usually in the form of their dignity).
I would be interested to see if there is a similar effect when it comes to a long term marriage. Both partners have made sacrifices in their lives (personal, emotional, career, sexual) to make the relationship work. They therefore value it more.
Alternatively, a promiscuous person with multiple partners makes no sacrifices in any of their relationships, and therefore value them less.
The justification behavior no doubt has an effect in the marriage context, and may help to explain the higher self reports of happiness. It could also be a factor in why people stay in toxic or abusive relationships. I would be interested to see how this bears out under study.
Importantly, unlike a Frat Hazing which tends to be degrading, a marriage is generally positive. Instead of a degrading ordeal, it's more like an ongoing project. It also has substantial long lasting upsides (such as children) that I'm not going into at this time. This makes it a different situation, but I wonder if the same psychology still applies to a certain extent.
ADDENDUM: For the record, I am not married, but I would like to be someday. I have had the benefit of many positive role models in this regard. I do not claim to be an expert in this field, and I am the last person you should ask about relationships. This is just a thought that popped into my head, and I thought I would share it. Please take it for what it is - the opinion of a curious person on the internet.

She's a stone cold fascist, twisted to the core, and yet has convinced herself that she is a crusader for Truth and common sense. She is quite adamant of her reliance on logic and science, lol, she has no idea what logic even is. I'm not being mean, and in fairness, I think very, very few people really understand logic and how it works, and her devotion to it is the correct approach. But, logic is like the highest mathematics, but twice as difficult. It requires deep, organized thought, fact collecting, identifying and assignment, as well as intense comparisons of narratives, narrative creation, and supposition. She thinks her brief, emotional based interpretation of the nouns/subject in a sentence can be easily sighted as proof of illogic.
That being said, regarding black and white, I disagree. Yes, at an existential level, you can raze everything down to an unknown, to a question of the shade. But Truth is objective, and it is absolute. There are both the light and the absence of light, the black and the white, the yin and the yan, present in the universal construct. It is man who walks in limbo between them. It is our perception that is subjective.
I'm certain you can find several living examples which you experience if you are open to seeing them. For me, I don't feel it is necessary for man to solve his existential crisis for there to be peace and order. We simply only need to find common ground. We create what we are. We can agree the murder or even imposing your will on a free and innocent human being is wrong, and not acceptable. The secret is in the word 'agree'. We need only agree to what will be 'our' Truth, and that can serve as the Truth. That's what religions do, that's what the world needs without religion. And that is what our republics are trying to accomplish.
It is simple, abortion is murder. End of story. Giving a woman a right to murder a human because she carries it inside her requires some sort of additional facts that have not yet been presented. Facts that demonstrate either the fetus is not a living human being, or that killing it is somehow not actually killing it. OR we can move to change the morality of killing, if we 'agree' to do that.
Our biggest challenge, what keeps destroyimg nations, century after century, is ego, and our primitive roots of 'might is right'. That is the Way of things, might has always decided what is right. Logic is the sophisticated faculty that is just emerging in our species, and, like math, it is understood by humans in a gaussian or bell curve, or whatever dispersion, just as athletic skill or music talent. Logic is a skill, and only those in command of it can arrive at the most integral/relevant, accurate result of it's yield. The good part is, just like math, others can be shown and understand easily, but EGO stops them from yielding to an objective logician. That's why so many people are religious, if u can't figure it out for yourself, you follow and trust the people closest to you. That's everyone following the patriarch of the family in his ill brained ideas, and they end up at the church all trusting a boardroom of old fascists. Look at that, full circle, lol.

Porn has always been around. Ever been to Pompeii? The walls are covered in it. Vikings used to doodle willies, in the renaissance you had books like the Decameron, and In Victorian Britain there was a monthly porn magazine called The Pearl, and they used to publish pretty racy stories and photos. In fact brothels were on every street corner in Victorian London, and prostitutes in the East End were two a penny. Porn is just an easy scapegoat for deeper society issues, a panacea. It's not the cause of problems, it's the result of them. In fact Victorian Britain is a pretty good place to look, as it's recent enough to be well documented and reasonably familiar. So what was similar? Technological paradigm shift (mechanisation for them, the Internet and AI for us) a huge income gap that left the poor pretty hopeless while the elites were effete and decadent, alcohol and drug abuse were rampant, child abuse was rampant... as Mark Twain said, history doesn't repeat but it does rhyme. There are few people alive today who remember life before the 1940s (you'd need to be at least 90), so our collective consciousness really only extends back that far, to the 50s and 60s when things were better.

I think it's purpose was more to inspire men to excellence. And I have never heard of any descriptions of arousal from the nudes and semi nude paintings of the baroque. The closest I can find is a Scottish nanny who in the 1830s destroyed the painting of Samuel Pepys wife, Elizabeth, because she thought her gown was too low cut for decency.
But even if you are correct, which I don't believe, and this art was to promote arousal, that is still quite different to porn. Arousal is a preclude to sex, porn is an alternative to sex.

    • @grannyannie2948
      @grannyannie2948 6 месяцев назад +3

@calvin8002 Again you are not putting things in their historic perspective. For example much of the erotic art of the Roman period were advertisements for brothels.
And to give an example of the literature in the 1600s women read French romances. An example of this is Cinderella. I have come across one erotic book published in the 1700s for young gentleman coming to London for the first time. But again it was an advertisement describing the best and worst brothels. And when Hans Christian Andersen stories were translated into English, in their original they are rather adult, they were heavily censored, because women were fond of foreign romances.
The fact is men were not incels until recently. And respectable women did not engage in premarital sex. There was no need for pornography. In the cities men had access to cheap sex. The song rub a dub dub, refers to the huge number of men taking the mercury bath treatment for syphilis. And in rural areas, everyone married young.

@@azren2255 um that's extremely off topic as both the majority of the video and myself were talking about the effects of porn on society not within the porn industry. The percentage of people filming in the porn industry is extremely tiny as compared to the general public. So even if you wanted to count every single person in the porn industry as being an abuser or abused that's still a tiny minority of society. Don't need stats for that common sense. Heck even if I agreed with you that the porn industry is a hive of sexual assaults it has nothing to do with my point. Most of our clothes are produced with child slavery, that doesn't make us slave owners.
People who ask for stats should be required to provide stats for their POV also. Not to mention playing the stats game just goes in circles because even if we both provided stats to each other we'll then argue the source of the study as unreliable. That's 1 of the reasons I didn't bother with the stats and focused on how most countries without porn still suffer with sexual assault. The stats you are asking me to produce doesn't exist. Why, for the following reasons:-
      1. Accurate assault statistics are hard to obtain as many victims don't report due to reasons like embarrassment, fear of reprisal, or insufficient laws.
      2. Definitions and tracking methods of sexual assault vary globally, affecting statistics; some countries have broader definitions and include non-consensual or statutory assault.
      3. Some countries track only male-on-female assault. Others also track female-on-female, female-on-male, and male-on-male assault.
Keep in mind the countries I need to make my point generally don't even publish such stats. Generally countries with legal porn count sexual assaults while those with illegal porn don't publish such stats. So asking me for stats on my point is impossible. If you think lack of stats means my point is invalid then you're looking at the glass half empty. Just because nobody is counting doesn't mean assaults aren't happening when porn doesn't exist. Should we not believe the victims just because we have no stats that assault occurs in that country? I can only rely on the many reports of the victims of assault in Saudi Arabia, Iran, ISIS etc. All places with no legal porn but the assault is still happening.
People like to connect porn and sex assault as if they are mutually exclusive to each other and create false causation. They are 2 separate things that may intersect in a ven diagram but one doesn't need porn to think about commiting sexual assault.

It is possible that porn reduces sexual assaults, but the data I have seen really would need to account for other variables. 1) the correlation I saw was only about the number of rapes after the addition of high-speed internet to an area, and a reduced number of rapes could be due to less women leaving their house because they are seeking entertainment online, and not in bars and clubs. 2) to make a causal inference, you would need a "differences-within-differences" approach where you would see if the access to porn dropped the number of sexual assaults after it became available accounting for continuations of trends in sexual assaults that were previously active going-into the period of the change. Studying in multiple intervention communities and multiple control communities would be needed to establish the effect, and I believe that because of a) chesterton's fence, and b) the known harms of pornography, you would put the burden of proof on the pornagrapher. 3) i can tell you in southern Italy that there have been 3 porn-inspired rapes of very young girls that have not ended well - and another filmed gang-rape of a girl in Palermo recently. the case in Barcellona involved a 13 year-old, one in the Agrigento area was filmed and led the girl to kill herself after the video circulated the web, and the one in Naples-Secondigliana this summer was super messed up.This trend among pornified teens filming the sexual assaults of very young teen girls really eclipses any argument that this shit is good--it's not data, it's anecdote, but it's anecdote of an emerging trend that we need to watch. The inustry hates age-verification and the progressive left hates it too, they will fight it tooth-and-nail becaue industry wants the money and progressives believe that extending sexual freedom and destroying all previously present norms is the key to finally making that great civilization.

So it's not fair to take away that achievement in this broad statement (i am against affirmative action in general btw, quotas based on immutable characteristics are complete none sense, and there is other ways to solve the issue if a certain type of community is falling behind the rest based on some historical events. We can both acknowledge that historical events can have an effect on a certain group and the fact that affirmative action is not the solution to this ).
Indeed on top of this women outperform men in every part of the education system from middle school to every level of education. For this men say, ouh education was made to fit women, which is incorrect.
As much as today's feminism is absolutely toxic(yes there is toxic femininity as much as there is toxic masculinity),
it's not fair at all to put, yet again, all the behavioral issues of men, on women.
Everyone has personal responsibility, to work on themselves in life. You can not control what other people do, but you can control how you react to it.
I feel this is why, the message of JP resonated so well with many people(both men and women) because the center message at the beginning of his internet saga, was,
    personal responsibility.
Every person, man or woman, should take a step back, think about their actions, and work to improve themselves, be a better person regardless of gender.
Screaming with anger on the internet what women need to do to make men betters, or what men need to do to make women better is useless.
Everyone is responsible for their actions and state of well being.
And when you're a better person, women or men, good people tend to surround you if you give it enough time.

She's correct. Women have STEM scholarships exclusively to them, exclusive tech internships, exclusive tech workshops / bootcamps, and preferential hiring in STEM. No idea what she means by affirmative action for graduation, admittance yes, women still have that, and the schools are catered to girls way of learning, included with feminist indoctrination, as well as their interests, not to mention most schoolteachers are females so boys don't have any male teachers as role models, which is one of the reasons boys are losing interest. It doesn't mean girls are outperforming boys, it just means girls have an advantage to pass school, and even then, when they grow up, it's not clear to me that women are smarter than men even after all that education. It looks to be the opposite. Men are still smarter and logical compared to women.

I think a lot of men want to get married, but they can't find women who find them attractive. Most average men have a hard time even catching the attention of women.
I think it's absolutely absurd to insinuate that women prioritize a man being good, over him offering security. I see no evidance that points toward this, and a plethora of evidance that points to the contrary, including that statistically the likelihood of divorce skyrockets when the woman in a married couple starts to make more money than her husband.
I don't know what the solution is, but I think it's dishonest to not aknowledge the reality of the situation as it currently stands. I don't believe for a moment that hating women is a good or productive response, or solution. However, I don't think we can lay the vast majority of the these problems at the feet of young men either, and to a large extent, neither at the feet of young women.
Young women are taught abject lies, that thier actions have no negative consequences, especially as it relates to promscuity, and so they act in ignorance, and end up bitter, alone, and unable to love and respect that perhaps would be happy to take care of them.
Young men are taught to get the hell out of the way and dissappear, and so many of them are doing so by taking their own lives.
I think both sexes need to be taught the truth about what the opposite sex is looking for, and trying to form themselves into attractive parters.

So flip-phones for emergency calling, and the modern cell phone would just be a mini-computer that only connects to the internet for updating apps.

I will argue, countries that allow pornography are likely to be Western and have better criminal practices for getting rape convictions. Any studies done have the possibility that they are correlating data.
In the West, it's very hard to rape someone today and not leave DNA evidence and CCTV is everywhere in the UK. Making it harder to get away with it. Compared to third-world countries that might be stricter on porn, but also have a hard time getting criminal convictions because they don't have the processes to collect good factual evidence of rape.

It is difficult for women to consider trusting men to take care of their wives and children when they have historically done such a bad job of it. People talk of a golden past where couples stayed together and were parents to their children but they are overlooking the fact that women had no choice but to stay in abusive or unfulfilling relationships where the man was neither a partner or a friend. I’m not just referring to physical abuse but economic abuse, such as the woman not owning half the property even if she gave up work to care for children or having to go on her knees to a man to get money for food etc. it’s not a wonderful glowing example and if men want that position back there has to be some way to protect women from the tyranny of husbands

Also when she says all pornographic material should be criminalised and the people who make it, I mean think of the implication there, she says there is absolutely no good or healthy or ok way for someone to objectify themself for the sexual pleasure of someone else, and I can see her point there, but as a counterpoint, I'm a tradesman (welder) I used to work a job that involved travelling up and down the UK a fair bit, I could be away from home mostly stuck on a jobsite or in a van with a bunch of dudes away from my wife, there would be times where we would stop in a Travelodge or somewhere and my wife knowin I was away for a while, she'd miss me, I'd miss her, we were both horny and she would on occasion take some shall we say risqué photos and send em to me, helped me along venting my frustrations if you get my drift...should that be a crime? I mean she was objectifying herself for my sexual pleasure, she created a pornographic image and distributed it...was that a horrible, unhealthy, degrading thing to do? Or was that just an extension of our regular marital intimacy just accommodating for the fact that we were far awar from each other? It was never anything I asked her to do there was no pressure from me, and on her end hey she's happy that she's the object of my desire and I don't stray...that seems entirely harmless but this lady seems not to agree.

Yeah, I think there is a LOT of baloney about the idea of so-called “pent up” sexual frustration etc. in men out there.
In my experience as a guy, it’s actually nowhere NEAR as simple as the idea that getting “release” reduces your sexual appetite and getting none increases it. In fact, I’ve found that often the opposite happens. Self-indulgence begets more self-indulgence (and the urge for more). Self-denial builds more habits of self-denial (a good quality in all sorts of domains).
So I would doubt very much that p-rn use reduces an individual’s likelihood to be sexually violent, especially since so much of the time it’s FROM p-rn that the idea of even being violent is taught (not in all cases obviously).

Furthermore, the plural of anecdote is not data and your anecdote does not even hint at a casual role in your circumstance.
