I watched Band of Brothers when I was just entering college. I can't prove it, but seeing the characters in that series have a sense of humor in some of the darkest moments helped me develop my own sense of humor and prob helped me deal w situations I wouldn't have been able to otherwise. At first I only adopted the sense of humor bc I thought it was cool, but later on I think it unironically helped me be a better person and not take yourself too seriously in times of hardship. I am an American living in the UK and had to go back to the States this summer and I thought I would see transgender folks everywhere, people whinging about pronouns, and all sorts of madness and when I came in through ATL - a huge airport - it was the same old America, with nuclear families and people walking around, getting along. Same for my trip up to New England. It's social media that is the problem. America is still America, the land of opportunity, where people live in towns and cities, work, tend to their friends and families, the live free. Reduce Internet time, go get some sun, hang with loved ones, and live life. Thanks Bill for keeping it real and sane!

@@Thesteadfast you’re not wrong but I think bill is kind of not in that lane as much as people give him credit for. Bill is a comedian first, and a lot of people who are pushing against or for the “woke” agenda wants to know everyone’s take or how their comedy can speak “truth to power” and I just don’t think that’s how bill sees comedy. There was a similar dynamic on rogan when these guys were on, I actually think it was the exact idea of one of them saying “comedy is speaking truth to power” and rogan quickly quipped back, correctly imo, that “comedy is what’s funny.” And I just think that idea isn’t triggernometrys brand.
Bill just kind of does his own thing and if that touches into politics, alright, but I wouldn’t call him a “political” figure like most of the guests on triggernometry.
A lot of the conservatives like bill because he “tells it like it is” and a lot of the libs like him because politically he does seem to lean more left. But like he’s just Bill.
This at the beginning gave me similar vibes to the h3 bill burr podcast which was awkward af, but throughout the interview, and credit to the trig guys for doing this, the conversation steered less from current political affairs and ideas towards comedy from bills perspective. From that point on it was a splendid interview.

I am so happy you all got Bill Burr on your show. I just love you both and Bill. Weirdly enough my son is around the same age as Bill and they both speak in the same irreverent, outrageous, yet hilarious manner. I laugh so hard at my sons rants that I cry. I told my son about Bill Burr and we watched one of Bills Netflix shows for the first time as we mourned the year anniversary of my grandaughter"s death Oct 16, 22. My son was amazed to find a guy as angry as himself and also trying to work with it. I had my son when I was 16, too young. I apologize all the time for being such an inexperienced stupid parent. I was so scared my kids would be taken from me by social services. I was always working and leaving them alone. Bill really puts perspective into his stories that help to explain how crazy life can be. My son is very worried that the youth today are so vapid and lack resilience. He thanks me and my husband( deceased) for the slaps in the head and says we should have been much harder on him. He tells me I had no idea what BS he was getting into as a kid. He still hasnt told me.

There are untold numbers of people who have to keep their mouth shut in all sorts of industries or they will literally lose their livelihoods. The problem with interviewing successful comedians is they always talk about comedy and they've all got a similar sort of story it's interesting a few times but after a while it becomes the same. Now interviewing a cancelled comedian has a different subject but even that is starting to get old. @@jasondashney I think it's simply Bill knowing there are people going for "gotcha" questions and want that viral sound byte to get them more viewership. He doesn't know these guys and is just being cautious but also pessimistic. He figures out how they are and the mood relaxes noticably.

@@treborkroy5280 Gotcha questions? They adore Bill and consider themselves on the same side he is. Bill also knows a ton of people that they've interviewed so he could've made a phone call or two or watched an episode or two and figured it out. He didn't have to do it in real time like an asshole. He acts like somebody who is as big as he is and he knows he can say and do whatever he wants.

@@theheebs100 yep, that's exactly what I was gonna say. Driving affords you a level of anonymity just like being online does, it's very different from being face to face with someone.
