  • UC300ETH-5LPT is an Ethernet CNC motion controller. Usable with UCCNC / Mach3 / Mach4.
    It can control up to 6 CNC axes and it's stepping frequency is at its max 400kHz. It supports also rigid tapping with use of incremental encoders, linear scales, MPGs etc.
    It supports servos and stepper motors which can be controlled by step/dir signals. Thanks to ethernet there is electrical noise protection.
    This controller will be the heart of my new CNC lathe machine project.

    For the next video, could you show what type of connector is necessary to connect, for example, a servomotor to the corresponding port on the board? I am interested in this board, to carry out a project. On the other hand, thank you for the videos you make, they are very useful!! I hope you continue uploading such interesting content for a long time! Thank you really, you are a real help for people who are interested in all this.

      Yes, definitely! I'm planning to make videos about most of the stuff which will be controlled in my CNC lathe project. Axis servos, spindle, position / speed mode, spindle encoder, MPG, linear scale used with a pneumatic tailstock. I'm glad my videos are helpfull! :)

    That's really interesting! I have the same controller and I'm looking to replace the SmoothStepper I'm currently using with Mach3 for my CNC. How do you plan to implement a closed-loop system with UCCNC? As far as I know, UCCNC doesn't natively support that, and the latency between the board and the PC seems too high for closed-loop control. Windows is not a real-time machine. Thx!

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  13 дней назад +1

      Well, actually I'm not quite going to implement closed-loop. My plan is to make a pneumatic tailstock attached to the linear scale. I'd like to make a macro which will turn on the tailstock and the controller would be measuring the distance the tailstock traveled. Thanks to that I should be able to drill holes to the desired depth using an air cylinder. Something like that. And yes - as far from I know there is no posibility yet to close the loop of the step/dir signal and the drive position signal from a scale.

    I have the same controller for a new project....but please....don't put it on a steel plate because static discharge are possible 🙂 Which UCCNC software version will you use ?

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  14 дней назад +1

      I just put it on it before powering. After that it was on isolating material. I'm going to use the newest version of uccnc available which has uccnc turn (for lathes). I don't exactly remember which version number is it but i can check if you're curious

    Hi. How i read information, about uccnc this software doesn't have lathe function? Why you moving from Linux cnc. Thanks.

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  12 дней назад

      Hi! It is being tested but there is lathe function. It is available to download from cncdrive.com. I moved to uccnc because i used it also on my mill retrofit project and it liked it a lot. I like the interface, everything is quite simple to setup while it supports most of what you could need for a CNC machine.

    • @VolodymyrKh
      @VolodymyrKh 12 дней назад +1

      Thanks for your reply. Do you have plans to make video about uccnc turn?@@GBWM_CNC

    • @GBWM_CNC
      @GBWM_CNC  12 дней назад

      @@VolodymyrKh Definitely! I'm planning to make videos of most of the functions and possibilities of this controller. I'll include some overview on the lathe user interface too. Actually it doesn't differ much from the milling gui from what I see. It just suits a little more to a lathe. But I'm now testing the UCCNC turn profile so maybe I'll discover more fun stuff there.
