My lord Warbirds dogfighting is so much more exciting to watch than modern aircraft. And like some other folks said, I'm sure the Allies would have loved to be flying the Mustang in 1940.
Nothing better for the viewer than a long and excellently performed mission that is "Capped" off(get it) by a totally unnecessary and head shaking crash on landing. Lol. Thanks for the entertainment!
I've been flying the mustang and the saber, trying learn how to dogfight/ energy fight. Just with AI. I haven't tried multiplayer. Still suck so far. Keep up the good work. All you guys are awesome. I know I'm learning something.
@@grimreapers I'd had really liked to watch you do high alt dives to engage enemy planes and retreat back up to high alt and repeat. Once their all dead every red team member could engage ground targets.
@@SteppingWolf Hmmm yes it was....But of course there is always some smarty pants that can do better or says they can. If it was so easy there wouldn't be a tutorial. If only the Allies had P-51D's and Spitfire Mk IX's in 1940! WWII would have ended a lot quicker! Hopefully, when you use the more historically accurate IL-2 for 1940, you will have Spitfire Mk 2's, Hurricanes vs Me-109 E's and Me-110's plus JU-87, HE-111's...come to think of it, the Hurricanes were held back from Dunkirk after losing so many of them in the battle of France. And before anyone takes offence to my critique, please do not call a campaign "France 1940" and fly late war aircraft. It may be a better idea to fly DCS for the late war, like 1944-1945 and leave the 1940 - 1943 with IL-2.
Historical accuracy clearly being of paramount importance, except its not. No one in the vid seems bothered. They just want to fly around and shoot stuff.
@@paulking7019 he first batch of Mustang Is were NA-73, same as the XP-51 using the original powerplant, the Allison V-1710-39. To make matters worse, 20 aircraft were lost at sea when the boats transporting them sank. When Brittan perfomed tests on the Mustang I, they were very enthused with the performance. Faster than the Spitfire by about 30 mph and had more than double the range.

The US wasn't even officially in the war yet. There was one poor person in an I 16 while not in the mix much in this match I do believe it did exist (1935)and is a POS compared to what it faces in DCS and ED should pay people to fly it. @@grimreapers Sorry I honestly don't know exactly when they made the Type 24 Mod. I wasn't even aware of the "type" found in DCS. Not a fan obviously. Watching the Grim Reapers taking off in warbirds always makes me feel better about my warbird piloting.

Really outstanding camera angle captures on this one. Brought viewers a lot more "into" the fight than often happens. Kudos on the editing.
28:20 the scream of that engine was absolutely beautiful
That's a whistle sound made by the gun barrels at high AOA

This new format is phenomenal! Lots of shots of either side, multiple perspectives; Great camera work!
Roger! New just need to get more people to watch it.

I read "DRUNK", but "DRUNK DOGFIGHTING" would be awesome
everytime i watch these video's i am so amazed about the cinematics in this game slash simulator!
I found the camerawork in this video to be superb. It was a joy to watch.
Looks like you guys had great fun! Having watched the takeoff I now don't feel quite so bad with my attempts!
Why does the mustang engine constantly sound like it is popping? Always love the GR vids!!
Currently bugged in DCS
@@grimreapers i dont remember P-51's and Fw 190's in Dunkirk
Did I hear "Angels 3,000"? That's a hell of a long way up. Fun vid, regardless.
*zooms in on modern oil rig in the ocean*
I don't know why I found that funny lol.
Pretend it's a Maunsell sea fort.
That was exciting! The anachronism was a slight eyebrow riser but fun comes before realism, excellent job. Quality entertainment!
Your best video I have seen so far. I don't say that lightly! 👌
That was really fun to watch. Heck of a furball.
Just unbelievable content - amazing absolutely fantastic - Thank You!
Great vid as always cap. Keep up the great work.
Also super cap is best superhero
That's a really good video
But you guys should try a IL-2 Battle of Stalingrad campaign cause it has way more WWII stuff than DCS
Fun! Thanks GR :)
Orbit left. No! Your other left!
Those engine sounds... Epic...
Mustangs sound like epic dog shit.
So the little Spitfire got you in the end LOL
Yes i did, i played the long game :-)
Really enjoyed the show fellas, great show.
Why are all the 51 pilots trying to reenact the History channel dogfighting p51s?
lol noobs
This is quite a fur ball! Exciting!
Drop DCS for this and play IL2. Everything will fit better.
Boys are dog fighting..... cap continues to engage ground targets. Lol
I did tell the 190's not to try dogfighting...

Superb stuff! How do you simulate the ‘radio’ voice on here?
Nice Vid CAP!! ;) Gd Hop!!
Beautiful.😊
Reds vs Spits and popcorn poppers
It’s so funny 😆 I’m living in Gelendzhik 😀👍👍👍
I'm not sure I understand; why do a few planes always crash on takeoff? Bad pilots or bugs?
Try taking a B-109 off in DCS wake turbulence and you'll find out...
@@grimreapers Probably; but I was hoping you could just tell me...
What is the reason for including both DCS and IL2 for the air war? Is CA that big of a difference?
Want to get the il-2 boys involved in a campaign
it's great to watch , but....... none of these aircraft weren't yet in service in 1940 at Dunkirk, no?
Correct
Those mustangs sound like their taking dumps all over the runway. What's with the backfire sound?
P-51 currently bugged in game.
I used to play the old IL2 and taking off in any fighter was bloody difficult so kudos to anyone who gets into the air on the first try!
No it wasn't

Tht wuz a long fight!!!!
The channel wasn't fifty miles across it was twenty.
Lol depends which bit......max width 150mi and narrowest is around 24mi......
Only at the Calais pass.
The 90 undercarriage always irks me. Why did they design it not to be straight down or canted out like every other warbird?
could you be more specific about aircraft and munitions used? it's not real obvious to observers

only 3 years into the future for p51d, although p51b/c were used by raf in 1940
