Wonderful story. It's bad enough playing that totally Impossible shot from behind the wall but then to have the cheek to chip in for birdie. Seve was charisma encapsulated and we will never see his like again. "The good die young, the rest go to America."
I feel blessed to be named after him
Bless you Seve!
Your parents are legends!
Your name is Billy?
I saw him chip once. Magic.
Good luck living up to him.. either way you won't FALL short..
Seve inspired me as a young boy to take up the sport (best sport in the world) and very fortunately I had the pleasure once to meet this beautiful human in 1985 at St piere golf club in Wales UK , still remember it as if it was yesterday, he will never be forgotten a true iconic legend ❤️🙏🏻
Everyone has a mate that tells stories like Billy Foster!!
Legend. Miss him loads. I was a couple of yards away from him at Wentworth when he was in the trees (far too many times) and he cracked a joke. He had a palpable aura about him that made him appear to be above normal human level.
Him and Olly in the Ryder Cup, well, brought it alive for Europe. Great times.
That AURA!.. CHARISMA... it's not a wonder that he played the of golf game above human
Genius at work seve the greatest
Christ I wish he was still around even if he was just commentating on a panel, in my eyes he was the greatest! RIP Seve👏
Roger that! Simply amazing SEVE!
@@johnserrano8683 Billy Foster was right, Seve was the Mozart, Rachmaninov and Paganini of golf all rolled into one.
Language please Jesus Christ is Lord for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish have everlasting life
So true 👍🏻❤️🙏🏻
If I’ve watched his video once I’ve watched it 100000 times
How does this not have 1,000,000 plus views???
One of the best videos on youtube
American here, my hero growing up, I emulated everything from Seve. Im old now, but 6 course records, and Ive carded a 59 in competition, I have no regrets.
I watched the movie “Seve” not knowing what it was in my teens. The story of his life brought me to love and appreciate the sport so deeply until the day I die. The man was an artist.
The PICASSO of ⛳ golf..a fiesty old school Spaniard
My life is coming to an end .and golf is my only FRIEND.. especially with I make a great shot 💉..it gives me APPRECIATION for it all
What a lovely story, bless you Seve and Billy
Wow what a story. I wish I could have seen him play!
I loved Seve and had all the respect in the world for him. A true gentleman and a wonderful human being. So sad to have lost him. God bless you Seve.
I truly APPRECIATE those WORDS. what a character and a champion for the UNDERDOG..
The most entertaining and exciting player the game has ever seen.I would watch him on the box and Identify with him,he play some bad shots just like myself,in my case many bad shots, and he would then play the magical recovery shots on most occasions,I;d do it on rare occasions,Gary Player called him a scrambler, and I for one am quite happy that one of the greatest players the world has seen would place SEVE with the rest of us, scramblers
The Heart & The Skills of The Mighty Severiano!
Seve is a legend.i had the opportunity to see him play and you could see the flare and love he had for golf.sadly missed, never forgotten.R.I.P seve.........
i spoke with Severiano many times abaut that wall shot..it was not as difficult as show but after that chipping in...was all heart, head and ball..
that was him..simple the best!!.
i miss you uncle!!
There will never be anyone like him again, he was unique, I miss him.
Nunca jamás habrá otro como el, fue único. Le hecho de menos.
GTFO.
Are you serious?
Raul bc So his brother was your par....?
Seve is golf for me, when I play and I have a difficult shot I think to myself, what would Seve do?, and I sometimes play a great shot. So Seve lives on on those that loved him and his golf.
Seve was a Quijote, the master of his own dream world.
Instead of windmills he fought giant tall trees and treacherous ponds.
Its a national treasure for us.
Cheers from Spain.
Genius. Greatest ever.
1 word..Genius! We miss you so much Seve!R.I.P.
Go there, see the plaque from where he played, and try to imagine how in the world he could escape from this hellspot... Unbelievable!
Seve was before my time so I missed out on watching him. But thanks to RUclips we can view videos of his greatness.
Delighted by this, but watching through tears...RIP Seve. Billie, not shy to criticise, but it's obvious he loved Seve.
I can't stop watching this video....
Me Neithter. So Compelling!
MASTER OF MASTERS.....
My favourite ever golfer...what incredible talent and what a showman!😊.
Such a great story..... I like how he remembers the detail, its crazy, funny and brilliant at the same time. That way the greatness of Seve.
Amazing story. Thanks for sharing. It always moves me to remember Seve, a true legend of golf
Love Seve. Great swing
Billy going to telling that story.. With more embellishments till he drops... Great stuff.... Seve the legend... No one comes close...
Love SEVE the reason I started playing and still have his ball he gave me at the Irish open in Mount Juliet and autographed programme he was the only player to stop with the fans after walking off 18 I will never forget that
Mount Juliet is a course mate, it's kilkenny, beautiful county, my family are from Portmarnock and I caddied as a young boy, good luck
Very awesome lucky you..! An autograph..in the moment.. PRICELESS
What a player x
Truly amazing
The more I learn about this guy, the more awesome he gets...
ONE 🕐 of a KIND.. remain 🦉 WISE!
What great love and affection he has for the maestro. A true hero
My dad was there caddying in 93 when Sève marked that shot!
He was a joy to watch, fantastic player, fantastic personality, ingenious in his talent, so so sadly missed.
Seve truly was the maestro!
The one and only SEVE...🙏❤
Seve was my silent hero in the '80s. I say that because loving golf got you bullied back then. The game has changed so much.
What he's saying is true., I followed him once at the Westchester Classic many years ago and his tee shot ended up on one hole under trees, a hundred yards short of the green with a pin tucked right over the bunker, which lay between Seve and the pin. He looked at the pin then hit a low shot under the tree branches which rose slightly as it passed over the bunker, stopping near the hole on the short side of the green. I think he made these kinds of shots all the time. He went on to win the tournament.
Great story. I followed him at Winged Foot in '84 and he drove it way left into the deep hay. I was part of the mini-gallery that then watched him hit an 8-iron out of this horrendous lie, over a nearby 100 foot tree onto the green. No way in a million years I could cover that. He was something special.
Basically, this goes against everything they teach you about recovery shots... It's completely wrong, in theory, unless you are the mighty Seve.
Amazing.
a special a man and golfer and he brought daring, excitement, and charisma to the game... I loved him and always will.
The Man.
Legend? What legend !!! Seve was the ULTIMATE ICON OF GOLF ⛳
The finest golfer and magician ever 🏌♂️
LEGENDARY
Thanks Billy we miss him too. God bless you sir.
Are you god damn serious, just incredible. I lost it once he told the whole story, then says oh yeah then he chips it in for birdie and wins. Like wow just crazy. Keep this caddy guy coming hes great.
Seve had dynamite magnetism
Ball below his feet, buried in rough, tree in the way, no green to work with, 50 yards from the pin, AND he forgot his wedges....he'd get it close...1 in a trillion talent
There will never be another Seve. Artist and magician with ice cold blood in his veins.
What a story teller is Billy 👏👏
What a inspiration ,making shots that not many other golfers dare attempt.
I would put Seve in the Top 5 of the Best players ever. His imagination and ability were just awesome to watch, He inspired me so much, that when I play and am in the trees, I look for way forward, not sideways. Does not always work, but when it does, it is a nice feeling.
magic story Billy.
An inspiration. God bless 😇
He was the man.
Nice. Ballesteros wón the Westchester classic in '83, so he was in great form then and in '84. I think this was his style, to hit it hard off the tee and to rely on his great imagination and skills to make extraordinary recoveries. Great player.
Wow, the power of optimism PRICELESS.
Simply The Best Ever!
That is greatest compliment of all. No, no, no Billy, I see the shot.
"I see the shot, I see the shot" words to live by. 😂😂 I miss you Seve, RIP bloody hell the Europe team don't half need you now
Billy, you gave him a bad yardage. He came up short. 😎 Best scrambler I ever watched. 👍
I loved Seve but these stories by his caddie are a treat
He also tried those ridiculous shots and made bogey and double quite often. However, he made birdie enough that people only remember those! When he did hit fairways, he was un beatable!
Brilliant hole of golf. By a brilliant player. It's a shame there's no footage of his 3-wood from the bunker from the '83 Ryder Cup. Nicklaus said that was the finest shot he ever saw.
Billy's impressions of Seve are dead on
Seve was the king👑
A unique man and a iconic one he for our sport he was a charismatic presence and helped make our sport popular globally many including tiger woods were envious of his wedge play. The only two players I would choose to make a putt for my life are tiger and jack they eat pressure for breakfast
That's insane
Chaos. Love it.😊
You’ve described this shot on this video.... and not actually shown it?? What!?
The Ryder Cup is what it is because of this man. He made the Ryder Cup and in my opinion is the best match play player ever.
My first and only love
GOLD
I like Billy's impression but it reminds me a bit of Tony Montana
Ondertussen 15x gezien. Blijft mooi!
So missed. Legend
The chip shot was no joke too, just carried it over the bunker just enough to roll it down the hole.
He's the best 90s
I'm not a professional golfer or professional at anything, but leaving a legacy, even if it's something small as being a good spouse or good father or a good friend! And if I can do that, well then my time here on this planet has been served well! RIP Mr. Ballesteros, it seems you left that kind of legacy also!
Seve was a last Romantic golfer in the world.
I walked up to Seve at the putting green in Edmond, Oklahoma. 1988 PGA Championship. I was 12 years old. I said Mr Ballesteros you are the best.
He looked at me and said. " you are correct young man, I am ".
The shot of Foster giving a friendly nudge speaks volumes about Seve's character. He always needed to be in control. Notice how the surprise nudge let him to fake a smile and look around is if to pretend it never happened. For one quick second, Seve was knocked off the pedestal.
Por haber tenido la suerte de tenerte en nuestras vidas, damos gracias a Dios todos los dias
Miss him
"I am a perfectionist." Young people should remember that. That's what it takes, folks.
My dad and Seve were neighbours in Pedreña. The guy had magic in his hands. But he trained hours, and hours, and hours. 24/7 thinking in golf. Night and day, playing on the beach, in his house, in other's houses...😝 Obssesed with golf. He trained so hard that he hurt his back. Badly. And that's the reason for his decline before his 40 years old. With good health, his numbers would've been unreachable.
Without Seve there is no Tiger. The chip-in was sublime.
show the shot!!! WOW
Steve and Tiger. Been no other golfers like them
So carismatic man
Wow
Best shot you've ever seen.... ut not us? Is there really no footage of that shot?
What a genius, sadly missed and aways in everyone's thoughts when the big tournaments are on, always gets a terrific mention, but had a right few caddies in his time, but i suppose it is a caddies job to take the blame when things don't go quiet to plan
The size of a dinner plate LOL
The original tiger
There is no reply to that letter
