Thanks for the great review and sharing this with the community Rob! So stoked you're getting this piece. The Fort Collins signal comes in every night so hopefully you'll be good to go. I'm in mid-50's - so the hunt eliminated a lot of beautiful watches that were tough to read. Sakura is a great shop to purchase from, and they seem to get the limited edition JDM models right out of the oven. And yes Rob it will probably stay on this goldilocks bracelet until I pass it down someday. Keep the ProTrek and Square reviews coming and hope to see more field watches as you guide us along your journey!

Great looking piece Jim. The Citizen PMD56 Rob reviewed a while back is mine, it's very similar to this one. The dial on mine is a bit less busy, but doesn't have the world time feature. Mine shows the day and the date, and the numberals and indices are opposite on mine vs this one. I've got a nice tool-less adjust clasp, but mine only picks up the Japanese radio signal. All that said...had this one been available when I bought mine, I don't know, that's a tough choice. I like the look of mine a bit better, and I like the clasp and slightly lower price on mine, but I like the better functionality of this one, and I think it still looks great. So I can totally understand you picking this one over the PMD56.
Oh, and Rob, as far as it picking up the signal in four places vs multi-band 6, if my memory is correct the MB6 refers to six different towers, but both Europe and China have two towers each. So four areas and MB6 are basically just two different ways to describe the same thing I think. I could be wrong tho haha.

@@dustingaddis2423 Thanks for the good energy Dustin - what's killer about your model is having the adjustable clasp and the Day and Date. There are so few solar day+date units out there anywhere (why is that?). I strongly considered getting your model and just running the phone app that simulates the Fort Collins radio signal. The timezone switching closed the deal.

Jim Hine I've been considering the Protrek climber line but with this styling, it may become the solar radio analog watch for me. Like you, legibility for my aging eyes is an important criteria. I'm glad others are conscientiously searching for those pieces that check all the boxes. Thanks for sending it in and to Rob for his enthusiastic review.

I bought it for traveling....lightweight and disappears on the wrist with the leather strap, isn't overly flashy/attracts unwanted attention but still looks good, easy to change time zones, radio controlled, extremely legible, comfortable, good lume, daylight savings time on/off, etc. Such a good watch.

For travel, it is effortless to change time zones, I get the radio signal every night in the Midwest. It's a watch I can wear all day long due to the light weight titanium and with 20 bar water resistance it stays on while kayaking and swimming. Keep up the great work!

@@MaximSupernov The 89E is a limited edition model. A cosmetic difference is that the second hand is white on the 89E and red on the 97E. The titanium coating on the 97E is more scratch resistant than on the 89E. I can attest to the scratch resistance on this watch. It is looking great after about 1/2 year of daily wear. Other than the limited edition, color of the second hand and the titanium coating, I believe the watches to be identical. Good luck choosing!

Hey Rob, was looking around while waiting for my CB-0171-89E to be delivered and I found that a CB-0177-23E has been released with the black dial, but with a black DLC with the Duratec but at about $80-100 more. The citizen site shows the DLC only being on leather strap, I'm assuming because they aren't going to produce a DLC bracelet. I'm looking forward to your full review and can't wait to get mine (out for delivery tomorrow morning)! Edit: Ebay listings for the CB-0177-23E sometimes show a blue dial with non-black finish on leather and sometimes a black dial on leather, but that may be incorrect. The Citizen.jp site only shows black dial in black DLC case, so buyer be clear on what you are buying.
I also just received my CB-0171-89E (it is a beauty), and I think there isn't a brown colorway so much as in bright light the dial has a brown vs pure black hue. So that means the 89E is the bracelet regular titanium with a gray/brownish dial, the CB0177-23E is a black DLC case on leather (can't tell if the dial is more black than the 89E), and the CB0171-11L is the blue dial with regular titanium finish on leather. This is all based on pictures on the Citizen.jp site for each individual model. Hope this helps for anyone ordering via EBay.

Jim Tyler thanks for clarifying. If the non-Duratect blue dial was offered with the bracelet I probably would have bought it but this deep brown face and nearly eggshell numerals have grown on me and happy I got this one. I bought and returned another titanium Citizen - with Duratec - and the whitish silver color was super cool.

    Great video.
Easy buy if not for mont bell in giant letters and the dopey ‘function is beauty’ silliness. Ruins the look for me.

I may need to unsubscribe to your channel my friend. You are costing me way too much money these days. This might be one I need to add to the collection. Need to sleep on it but damn I like this one A LOT.

@@RandomRobReviews Legit for someone not doing a review. Shouldn't you know what you're talking about if you are going to do a review? Just don't review the watch until you do know.

I don’t know if what I do is a review. I don’t know but I think it’s more like showing a watch on video so people can seem them in motion.
