Rashawn without me knowing all of the details of your project, here’s my advice. 1. I think you answered your question with your question. Keep it simple, or trim the fat in other words. 2. Try taking a step back and look at your project/series from the viewers perspective. Is the information you’re sharing enough to get you’re point across/teach them, without it feeling too long. If it feels too long or too complicated. Chances are it is. Good luck with your project! Keep growing!
I struggle with emotional clutter: I have revisited the boxes and culled even further as I’m progressing on my journey. My beloved Father died a couple of years ago and I can’t see me getting rid of that small box of items: however the other two sentimental ones I have I have further culled. I was overwhelmed when I started my journey but the payoff is so rewarding: when I consider what I have donated and de cluttered in the past year I’ve made amazing progress. We are moving soon which require even further de clutter ing: my space is 90% better than when I started. It changes so many areas of your life.
Your shirt looks great on you! Sooo tired of seeing minimal guys on YT in black or grey t-shirts I could scream. Live to see a casual but we'll dressed guy.
Your channel is truly a breath of fresh air for the minimalism community. Typically these videos all say the same thing, but yours had more to it. It made me think. Thanks for making this.
so true, a lot of times i swear the minimalist videos just watch other minimalist videos and regurgitate but you really add something, I stop and think after.
I literally stopped your video part way through and went into a few cabinets in my dining area and kitchen and DECLUTTERED right there for 15 min. on the spot. :) THEN I finished your video. Now onto another. :)
Hi. Love the shirt. It's a classic that will never go out of style, the color is neutral and goes with most other colors and you look very clean and neat. 👍
I was at a MAD spending Spree at the beginning of my 20s for my First Apartment. My fantasy self. And bought everything I couldn't afford when I was a Teen. But there is only so much one can buy until one is sated. And then I found minimalism. Started to slowly downsize . Use up the products I had and the clothes until they are no longer wearable or things that are broken and not replacing them. Selling things . Smaller apartments and donating excess stuff
I had a $450 baby crib that my children slept in once. Each of my children (they slept in my bed) I kept that crib until the oldest child was twelve. used only once . I was so emotionally attached to this item and others that my friend said take a picture of the children next to the crib and then give the crib away or sell it. I chose to give it and many other things away. Friends take lot of pictures it ease the pain a lot. xoxo
Work work work work work... on this decluttering journey... its worth it nonetheless .. thank you for bringing things to light. Oh and nice shirt! It’s clean n simplistic
Decluttering takes me weeks.I always have to go back and mine the exact same spots to go in and get rid of more things. The lies I tell myself in order to hold onto excessive materials.
Hey now! I noticed the different look as soon as I tuned in. You're fly with both looks. You hot that little boy look lol. I'm working on my emotional and behavioral clutter. I've eliminated the toxic people finally. It took some tests but it was worth the cleanse. I'm doing a daily body cleanse from the toxins inside and out. I knew I was on the right path especially when this video came about. Thank you so much for caring. Much love and peace to you always. Looking forward to your next video.
I’m glad I found your channel this weekend. I think I’ve finally had a break though with the “I’ve spent too much money on this so I can’t get rid of it” clutter. I’m selling all my bins of extra clothes on eBay and poshmark for about half of what I spent but I know it’s better for me mentally than just donating and not getting any of the money back. Whatever I don’t sell then i donate. I’ve been slowly working through my clothing hoard and have made about $1k so far this year.

take it to the tailor, it's a lil 2 big on you brother, but it looks nice ;)
Love ur shirt!!! U always look great ! Sales have been my weakness but I have learned to ignore them unless I NEED it then. And I finally let go of my expensive items though it was soooooo hard to do. It does get easier. I need the tax deduction to donate them anyway. lol
I kinda like the shirt, but it’s a little stuffy - maybe a little better suited to someone lacking in your talents. I remember you saying you’re a writer, and I (as a design professional) think creatives should experiment more with color, pattern, and styles (check desigual)
I have all these types of clutter. I have purchased expensive items in the past and struggled what to do with it. I think of someone meaningful in my and give the item to them. It is meaningful to them and makes me feel good knowing I am passing it along.
I went overboard with art supplies and camera gear. Downsized that. Now several times you mentioned camping gear. I'm trying to keep it minimal, but... I see myself struggling to hold back (you should see my Amazon wish list). I need this for backpacking, I need this for fishing, I need this for overnight / camping out, I need this for vehicle maintenance and emergencies, first aid. Yeah it can add up fast...
I actually have a few nice pieces... a couple are original pieces my brother made me. You can see them because I usually don’t like anything hanging above my bed!
I am enjoying your channel a lot. Much of what you are saying I can see in my life. I am 66 and looking at being more minimal. Thanks for the inspiration.
I enjoyed the video, you are easy to listen to! I subscribed. I am not interested in becoming a minimalist, but I like to try to remind myself different ways to keep down the clutter. I hate clutter since it stresses me out to have it all in my space, but I am not naturally good at not having it around! It seems to be a long process and retraining your brain! But I’ll get there!
Mijou welcome to the community! I hope my content continues to help you on your journey. Retraining the way to think to form me habits like this can be challenging, but it’s possible. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask. Keep growing and learning!
Yes, the blue shirt looks good on you. It is a classic that 10 year's from not will be that go to piece for all your 'offical' occasions as well as when you just feel like wearing a button front. Now for #8, it is a minefield for many especially when people die, the mourning process must be respected. Most grief counselor's tell widowed partners to don't do anything, the first year. Conversely, military spouses are not given that grace which I personally believe to be horrendous, but I digressed. My point is, not everyone is immediately ready to part with the physical vestiges of a deceased loved ones life. You need to be ready to part with that and respect everyone's grief timeline, as they differ.
Good looking shirt. Material looks to be of good quality. Probably washes up nice, too. Don't keep all of the items of a loved one. Only keep a few special items.
1. Bargain Clutter 2. I spent so much money on this! 3. Aspirational Clutter. Your fantasy self. 4. Emotional Clutter. Negative emotions holding on to. 5. Sentimental Items. Does it add joy or value? 6. Stocking Up Clutter. Don’t use all the time. Seasonal. 7. Behavioral Clutter. That turn into physical clutter. 8. Life Changing Clutter. Someone does or breaks up.
Hey Ronald... First of all love ❤️ from India.... I love the way u explain things.... Keep going... U have long way to go.... And thanks for motivating me 😁
Welcome to the community Nye! I’m really happy you decided to subscribe. I’m also excited for you and your journey. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
The shirt is sharp, professional, uptown, preppy...yada, yada, yada... nice color choice. And yes you make it look good. But you KNEW that. I appreciate that you broke down the different types of clutter... I had only considered tangible stuff stacked on top of flat surfaces and stuffed into drawers, closets, bins, trunks, etc. which is primarily what I am daring to play chicken with me... it's me or the mess. I have the stocking up clutter. I have the bargain clutter. I have the sentimental clutter. I have some "but I spent a lot on it" clutter. BUT THE EYE-OPENING LABEL THAT YOU INTRODUCED ME TO TODAY WAS THE "ASPIRATIONAL CLUTTER"... oh my heavens. You know - I have so many "Suzy Homemaker gadgets, appliances, cookbooks, pinterest ideas, fabric, yarns, knick-knacks - that have been waiting a lifetime for me to "get to them one of these days" because I really INTEND to do it... that are suffocating the life out of me. I totally love the idea of doing them, but really don't know if I would ever have enough time to do half of them or even a tenth of them. So - I guess I am realizing that I have a FANTASY SELF. Never had it put that way and it is as plain as the nose on my face. This is going to take some serious adulting to work through. Again, I am indebted to your plain "beyond your years" advice. Keep inspiring.
I just discovered this channel and subscribed. This guys is the sweetest, cutest, handsomest and the most likable and charming RUclipsr I've ever seen. Smart! Oh, yeah, I'm down!
Hi I’m new to ur channel and I’m so glad I found u 😃 all of these types of clutter effect my life. U put titles to them which are a big help. Thanks for ur inspiring videos. I’m totally going to be able to get rid of my clutter and be more of a minimalist. And, love ur shirt the color looks good on u. 👍🏾✌️❤️
Since I'm only starting in minimalism, I've been going through many videos in the minimalism community and it's almost the same. I just stumbled through your video and your content got me hooked! It's always very direct and concrete. I'm so grateful for the way you're sharing your journey in minimalism, it's like a guide to me. More power!
Just finished the video, tons of insightful advice. I'm working on decluttering while managing my ADHD so I wrote down some notes, for numbers two and eight I changed the names a little to make it shorter and easier to conceptualize. "Expensive Clutter" and "Greiving Clutter" :)
I am going through my craft stash. Have already rehomed 5-6 big bins (totes) of material. Have to admit the floss has been the biggest problem. Floss that has strayed from the kit it belongs to, skeins not put in their bag, and the ones given me from other crafters. The unfinished pieces, more fun to start than finish. The brainstorm ideas all the supplies purchased for but not the follow through with it time. Yah, and how many glue guns does one need? Crafters will get this. I can’t believe how much there is still. But it is a project I’m bound and determined to totally finish. Thanks for your wonderful videos!!!
Well, I really wanted to sew clothes like they do on Project Runway so I bought fabric, patterns, and machines. But in the end I really did not care if I wore unique and trendy clothes that fit me to a tee. So I am donating all of it. Next will be my inexpensive gold clubs. I guess I did not live up to my Fantasy Self. Ha ha.
I like the shirt , classic & clean minimalist style. I appreciate your channel because, I’ve been a minimalist for many years and I find myself even as a minimalist building clutter and inspirational videos like yours help motivate me to get back on track.
I hate the color red on me. Not Asian red, I love. Red. First, I went to H & M and bought two red items cz it was five bucks$$$$$! They’ve been in my drawer for two months and I get upset at myself for blowing ten dollars, which is no big deal. But it taught me that I blew ten bucks on stuff I hate and will never use and I bought what other people wouldn’t buy in the first place!!! My family told me I’ve always been a minamulist even before people started feeling freeer from declutering because my mother was a border. Then my sister became one. I became one but an “organized” horder. My house looked empty, but you open my drawers and closets and you can’t close them once you open them. It makes for a great comedian. Our daughter was traveling the world and asked to leave her stuff at home. On her trip I convinced her to become a minimulist. She emptied her room and patted herself on the back and condemned us for so much stuff when she helped us move to another state. Only thing is, she just moved her stuff into another room of ours to hold for her. I saw a cartoon of a father standing outside with his son saying “son, one day this will all be yours!” The Father was pointing to his open garage that you couldn’t fit a toothpick in if you tried. I have been decluttering now for the last four months. It feels so wonderful. I felt those filled closets and drawers were what was really in my heart, crap. I don’t want it in my closet hiding or in my mind. Freedom. What I own I would be able to walk away from with no regrets at all. Give to others in need.
I'm realizing how beneficial it is to journal; it does help us declutter in a multitude of ways. I have never thought of myself as being a writer. I really I've never applied myself in that regard, though.
Oof, bargain clutter hits hard for gamers when Steam Sales come around. Honestly, do we play every single game we got? It may just be downloading games and their program files, but they still add up for money.
Do you have any of these types of clutters in your life? ...also what do you think of my shirt?
Just Coni justme it’s definitely a different way to look at your space and your daily routine! You’ll be surprised!
The shirt immediately stood out to me! I think it looks very sharp on you.
Thank you Daniel! I appreciate that

Loving the shirt! I like the way you categorized the different types of clutter, I never thought of it like this!
It definitely makes you think about the clutter in your life differently! I appreciate the love Charles!
Exactly! Now it become easier to declutter !
8 Types of Clutter:
1. Bargain Clutter
2. “I spent so much money” Clutter
3. Aspirational Clutter
4. Emotional Clutter
5. Sentimental Clutter
6. “Stocking Up” Clutter
7. Behavioral Clutter
8. Life-Changing Clutter
❤️ the shirt, btw!

Hi. Love the shirt. It's a classic that will never go out of style, the color is neutral and goes with most other colors and you look very clean and neat. 👍
"Behavioral clutter": You got me with that one. This is a great video -- I love your comprehensive approach to minimalism!

My girlfriends are having a garage sale Saturday and Sunday. Taking stuff I have and never will use. A continuation of my minimalist journey

A crisp, white shirt, dove gray, or purple would look great as well as the one you have on.
I have a few white t-shirts and well as a few gray ones. No purple though. My style is usually within the blues, grays/black, browns and whites!
Maybe lavender us what she means
This is just amazing....I know God lead me to this channel to let go in my healing process.....oh very nice shirt

Love ur shirt!!! U always look great ! Sales have been my weakness but I have learned to ignore them unless I NEED it then. And I finally let go of my expensive items though it was soooooo hard to do. It does get easier. I need the tax deduction to donate them anyway. lol

I have all these types of clutter. I have purchased expensive items in the past and struggled what to do with it. I think of someone meaningful in my and give the item to them. It is meaningful to them and makes me feel good knowing I am passing it along.
You look excellent in that shirt!
You speak very eloquently.
When you come on screen, you capture my attention.
Agreed.! Thanks he is very clear and concise!
I'm agree with you
I went overboard with art supplies and camera gear.
You spent approximately one minute on each clutter item. Thank you.
Nice shirt! Light blue is extremely versatile for casual or business :)
The shirt looks nice! Thank You for your wisdom!

If you'd like to one day go camping.... GO CAMPING! You can camp for free at State Forest! State forest is different than state parks.
I am enjoying your channel a lot. Much of what you are saying I can see in my life. I am 66 and looking at being more minimal. Thanks for the inspiration.
That shirt is cool - looks good.
Enjoy wearing it. All the best.
That shirt looks amazing on you!

Love the shirt! Very stylish.
There's an app called letgo where you take a picture of something and enter your zip code...others can see your listing and buy your stuff
You are making massive impact on your community
Best regards from Mumbai
Thank you Shanti!
Gorgeous shirt and fits perfectly. Impeccable!
2020 lockdown clutter is another category

*Don't use it? Lose it!*
I like the shirt 👚 👍
Really good video
Thank you I’m happy you enjoyed it
Good looking shirt. Material looks to be of good quality. Probably washes up nice, too.

Awesome. ✌

If you have the items organized would you consider it clutter? As opposed to a junk draw full of items which you “might need one day”
I'm realizing how beneficial it is to journal; it does help us declutter in a multitude of ways. I have never thought of myself as being a writer. I really I've never applied myself in that regard, though.
Oof, bargain clutter hits hard for gamers when Steam Sales come around. Honestly, do we play every single game we got? It may just be downloading games and their program files, but they still add up for money.
