    A wise man once told me a man only needs two material things: a good bed and a good pair of shoes. Because you're going to spend half your life in one and half your life in the other.

      Your idea is a great one. I can see many benefits including of course saving time. You can put the money that you do not spend into a real investment instead of buying large varieties of clothing to suit so many different places we can go in life. Also, you might actually be turning your appearance into an icon of YOU. In this way, whatever you represent in life, gets communicated through your appearance -- your physical presence and your attire. Batman and his uniform, in the cartoon, communicated security and justice, for example.

      I also feel that when someone is wearing plain clothes, such as the plain T shirt Ronald has on in the video I focus on the speakers face. If someone has a highly patterned top and / or jewellery my eye is drawn to the design or jewellery.

Famous or mr. Famous and they live and let live in houses lavish Apartments take lavish trips then I don't take so I keep my money and enjoy it on things that I want I don't need to go and see nobody bounce up and down on the stage

      @VoidVanish 5 лет назад

      Cycles you’re right. Also a lot of families express love by buying too. My family wasn’t the affectionate and supportive type, they bought you things cause they “loved you”. As a grown up once you get everything you wanted on your list because this whole time you’ve been trying to give yourself “love” and you’re still not happy it’s a huge wake up/ mental death. Your mind no longer has a goal because it was a lie and you have to search to find what happiness really is. People like to make us think we need things we don’t to be happy but it’s really to take advantage of us so they can get rich off of us. It also creates more trash in the environment. You live and learn but the best thing you can do is share your experience with others. It might help open their eyes without experiencing all the pain.

      Not only from stuff, but it can also be people, intangible items you can’t see. To simply add value you your life. Being a minimalist isn’t meant for you to deprive yourself of things. One pair of shoes, living in a van, traveling... isn’t a minimalist. You can have thousands of books and still be a minimalist. If it adds value to your life, it makes you happy. It’s simply tossing anything that doesn’t add value to your life away.

It's an amazing free resource with tons upon tons of useful information that can be applied to an infinite variety of life situations. You can teach yourself practically anything. All you need do is just type. It's an ALMOST INFINITE FREE LIBRARY OF INFORMATION FAR SURPASSING ANY UNIVERSITY AS FAR AS ITS ABILITY TO EDUCATE AND INFLUENCE MILLIONS OR BILLIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY. NO SINGLE UNIVERSITY OR EVEN COMBINATION OF HUNDREDS IS MORE "POTENTIALLY" POWERFUL. That's half a thumbs up. Because i "don't wear makeup," but sometimes i do. Nothing wrong with a woman feeling good about herself by accenting her features with a little color, cover up or correction. A study was done that said a woman is taken more seriously in business and professional settings if she wears makeup. It has its place, and can play an integral part in a woman's self esteem, and thus her life. Makeup is only a problem when it becomes a crutch or an excessive expense.
      And then again on the other hand there's something to be said for a woman beautiful or bold enough to go barefaced. Wearing no or little makeup is very freeing. And wearing a little makeup fine too.
      I love my makeup and cosmetics. But i keep it to a minimum.

Trying to be a minimalist helps you detach yourself from the consumerism which is one of the most common issues faced in today's society and prepares you for scenarios where you are forced to live with less. EVERYTHING you mentioned I am doing!!!!
    I'm 64 years old and I have not had a 'credit card' since 1992... (long story).
    Went years without a TV even... The last time I bought a TV was 1998...
    My room is still a little cluttered more than yours, because I am going through what
    I owned when I had an antique store... I don't even own an IPhone, but wished I did..
    (saving up money for that)... my car is a 1995 Cadillac... which I do need to buy a newer car... (maybe)...
    Great video... Thank you for sharing.

      Love it!
      Since I started going back to eating healthy whole food, I have dropped about 35 pounds and got rid of all those too big clothes. I did buy new clothes, but went to my favorite discount stores and made out well. I am using a 'save up for' system which I will make the necessary purchases related to keeping healthy etc.
      Although I love books and own quite a few, I often get them second hand at a deep discount or the library, which I donate the read books too. Friends and family like to give me gifts because they think I 'need' the item or would like it but I prefer if they would ask first because often a much simpler, less expensive item works better, like a jar of rubber cement for my art work has more value and gets more use.
      When you mentioned the last tv you purchased was 1998, I have to take 30 years from that date. My first and only tv ever purchased was 1970-ish which is long gone. I saved the receipt for memrobelia. You know it was the first 'major purchase' upon moving out of Mama's house. What a laugh. I never purchased another tv even though people gave me many because they felt I 'needed' one - go figure. I do listen to RUclips for music, health info, how to stuff, technology operation etc. I have a cable line for my land line phone (yes, I still have one, it saved me in the blackout) and the internet. My cell is new because my 3 year old LG4 bricked. I would have used that phone until the L fell off of it. -lol. A friend gave me an old LG 3 which I used for months while I saved up and did my homework for a new phone.
      No, I don't own a microwave, food processor, a lot of kitchen gadgets or electronics and yet people like coming to my house for socialization on an invitation by invitation basis. About once or twice a month I have game night with 3 - 4 other folks, we play box games and it is fun and laughter the whole time. I cook something simple and we play. I go to these friend's house once a month and we have movie night. We've given our homes names for those nights, mine is "The Pass Out" (my guest eat the delicious food, then get on the couch and fall asleep. Lol) My friend's house is called "The Showplace" (they have Netflix, Firestick and hundreds of DVDs. The fun is equally good there.
      Anyway, let me go, have some frame & mat work to do, just wanted to say I agree with you and life is so very good when you get the clutter out the way so you can be free to really enjoy your own company.😁
      All the best to you.

      Pam: i got rid of my TV about 2 and a half years ago. My microwave finally gave out a few months later and I never replaced it. I do need a vacuum cleaner though. This sweeping with a broom is getting tiresome. (Wood floors in a small apt.) I wanted to ask you about the rubber cement. I was thinking of using that to glue the brown strong package wrapping paper to the back of my paintings to finish them off. Do you think that would be fine ? Curious to know what you use it for.

    • @SUNROSE7878
      @SUNROSE7878 5 лет назад +1

      @@Decopainterandtea using rubber cement to adhere brown paper on the back of a painting is fine. Go all the way around so it is fully sealed, cover all the staples holding the stretched canvas. Then drill the holes for the life-eye screws or other flat picture screws for the wire, which should be 1/3 of the way down from the top edge. For example, if the frame is 12" high, divide 3 into 12 and the life-eye screw should be 4" down from top edge. If the screw is already set, take it out. Lay the paper over the hole, mark it with a pencil (you can feel it), rubber cement the paper in place all around. Replace the screw and wire. Let dry flat for a couple of days. Hang when ready.
      All the best.
      PS. Also check RUclips for visual instruction clarity.

I learned pole fitness so I could teach the $30 classes I fell in love with in my thirties part time . Also I no longer have to work a day job because I INVESTED the $2200 a month my friends family and colleagues were burning on frivolity n fun . All my boys clothe were TJX clearance. Fam called me ESsie for a female Ebenezer Scrooge.....but they r climbing on board now that I have freedoms they long for....
    One thing tho.....I have and use credit cards for travel perks. You travel n clearly have the discipline they require to pay bills with them and pay entire monthly balance. I believe ALL should use credit cards like debit cards.... pay every WEEK to zero. Watch your credit score skyrocket....and insurance rates plummet. Keep up great work! TFS.
