About 20 years ago my wife and I had the amazing experience of attending a concert where Sarah and Andrea were the star perfomers. This was the last song they performed that night. They had a five minute standing ovation. We feel lucky to have been there and will never forget.
There's something about this song that makes me cry.. every time. I'm a 325 pound ex-football player/metalhead. I don't understand why I have this reaction every time, but I love it. Very few songs can make me feel in such a way.
I feel the exact same way …… Now if my grandmother were still alive , she would say, that God took away his sight, but gave him Something back that is so profoundly Beautiful !!!!!
It is a shame that Andrea can't see what his Angelic vocals do to people, just hearing the applause doesn't do justice. I'm not into opera, but I could listen to Andrea sing no matter what language. I love his duets with Katherine McPherson and Ed Sheridan.
So beautiful it makes me cry. One of my most favorites. At one point in my life I had reason to be contacted by Bocelli's PR team. They gave me a copy of the CD he had just released as a gift because I was promoting a sports figure that was using his music. They just wanted to show their appreciation. Great people.
I am not normally a big opera lover. But I love this song & the amazing talent of Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman. She was married for a time to composer Andrew Lloyd Webber & was the lead in his Broadway musical "Phantom Of The Opera".
Oh man….this song gives me goosebumps every time. I adore Andrea Bocelli. So does my husband. We love him so much we bought his cd, and we are not opera lovers.
I cry everytime!!! If you played that in the forest, all the animals would come together! Just like the humans do at the Opera when they hear this song, these two singing, & that orchestra!!! Tears from Heaven !!!! No they are good friends, he's married.
Dude...I honestly can't believe you reacted to this. The original was both my grandmothers and my grandfathers funeral song, and whenever I hear it I almost tear up 😢
Andrea is married with his own children. Sarah was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber who wrote the Phantom of the Opera which was a huge theater production hit in the 1980s and 90s, and it’s Sarah who plays Christine in the original production and who actually sings many of the most famous songs from the album. As for whether they were dating here, no. I understand why you may ask, as she’s often seen touching Andrea a bit intimately here. She’s doing two things: keeping him calm as this was early in his career, and actually helping him stay oriented to the microphone. If he swayed too far the mic would not pick up his voice.
Here is my take on the physical touch from Sarah, both Sarah and Andrea are opera singers.Opera tells a story through song. This is one of two lovers saying goodbye. Thus she is simply acting out the felling of the song.
We were fortunate enought to see The Phantom of the Opera at lest three times. the first was in Los Angeles with Sarah Brightman and Michale Crawford. It was an amazing performance and experience. When we went one of the other times the Phantom was protraid by Robert Guillaume (Benson of theTV show by the same name). He exceeded our expectations.
Your reaction is universal! I can’t watch this without shedding happy tears! You are stronger than me sir…Props on your composure! God wants us to inspire good will and joy ti everyone we meet…and those to have inspired millions of people just like me and you!
I think it is the music! It is also the knowledge of two very professional singers, that they are taking part and largely shaping the success of a huge concert! I once took over an Operetta part in 3 days and the second leading man could not stand me and was intensely jealous of my success, but behind- and on stage, he was supportive, and funny, and nobody ever guessed. Audience or ensemble! And that was in an amateur comp. Classes below what we just saw here! Putting yourself behind the performance and letting the Music rule you, carry you and serving the music with your all, that’s what it is all about! I think ;-) I mean, watch the first concert of the three tenors! Three men whom back then nobody could imagine EVER performing together. Competition, dislike, jealousies… Watch them perform the music and see the fun they have performing it! 😍
I took my father 4 years ago to see Andrea in concert.. while Sarah Brightman was not there, it was freaking outstanding.. I love this song. It speaks to me. As a metal head rocker chick, its not my usual genre.. but who cares.. outstanding music is outstanding music. My father has since passed.. but I am grateful for being able to take him to a magical performance that he thoroughly enjoyed with me by his side. Never discount musical ability in any genre, and the possible once in a lifetime experience with your loved ones. Thank you, Jamel for reacting to my favorite of all time performances.. it warms my heart along with the person I see you to be.. Much love always.. xo
Bro never thought I’d see someone enjoy this marvel as much as I but here we are. Real musicians know the feeling it gives and I see it in your expressions and that’s awesome! Real brother from another mother.
Speaking of Sarah Brightman, I'd love to see you react to the songs "The Phantom of the Opera" and "The Point of No Return" by her and Michael Crawford. Crawford's voice is fantastic! Hell, check out the whole original London soundtrack.
I COMPLETELY AGREE!! I first got it on a cassette tape! LOLLOLLOL! I've got a Blu-ray, & went to see it at the theater for my birthday one year! It's phenomenal! I've been begging Jamel to check out Il Divo, starting with the live performance of Nights in White Satin, since virtually EVERYONE knows the song, because I was introduced to them by my incredible late Mom. And also because we tragically lost Carlos Marin. Just over a year ago he suddenly died from the Delta variant of COVID although vaccinated. My daughter and I saw them in September, and Steven LaBrie has graciously stepped in to sing Carlos's part. It was gorgeous, but clearly missing Carlos's gorgeous baritone voice. I know if he enjoyed Sarah and Andrea that he'll enjoy Il Divo as well!
Andrea Bocelli is my favorite singer the world over and I found out he was coming to New Orleans for the first time (just this past Feb.). I DIED!! I bought a ticket right then! They joked around at work because it was all I could talk about for a month leading up to it😄I had to change into my gown at work (in a kitchen mind you) and rush out to make the concert. Y'all. I could only afford the nosebleeds but there was a problem with my seat....they upgraded me from a $130 seat to a $1200 seat!!!! I was 30 feet away from him🤩 It was among one of THE BEST experiences of my life. Thank you so much for sharing this reaction with us. It was beautiful to see you experience the emotion he invokes. It was written FOR his voice specifically because it is that much of a powerhouse.
Dude, I grew up listening to Sarah (due to I had no choice, you listen to what mom wants I. The car) eventually I grew to love her. She can belt our opera, yet she still maintains a light beautiful tone. She's a badass. Props to him to. Check out the original phantom of the opera soundtrack, Michal Christensen and Sarah brightman. Point of no return. Breaks me everytime
Saw Andrea singing this with another exceptional lady in September last year, when they carried on singing whilst walking away from the microphone and still sounded fantastic, now THAT is out of this world and spine tingling up there beyond anything else
Absolutely! I still remember them bringing the Oscar attendees to silence during their performance. And follow it by listening to Marcelito Pomoy sing it...which is unbelievable!
Heaven on Earth. Transcends all genres. Anyone has to have a heart of stone. Not to enjoy these 2 beautiful singers. One of the most beautiful performances ever.
Very few people, with a love for music and understand how Andrea is blind can avoid being moved...My wife, who speaks Italian, balls like a baby...It's overwhelms her...
Singers at that level in the classical music genre are a very close knit group. Bocelli is blind, so he can't see her, but if she was leaning on me like that I'd be forgetting the words. Sarah's been one of my favorite female singers since I first heard her. She can sing most anything and go from being very formal like she is here to being very sultry and sexy.
I love Andre Bocelli. He has some great stuff to listen to as does his son Matteo. They have a duet together called Fall on me you must hear. Also Andrea did a duet with Ed Sheridan called Perfect. Large rabbit hole with this great singer.
I love Sarah Brightman. Her Harem world tour (and the album that launched it) are both so wonderful. You can see the Las Vegas filming of it, and it’s really lovely. I saw the tour twice.
This is one of those songs that you didn't know you needed, but when hearing it, knowing that you did. And I can't believe you got a "WOOSA" in a reaction! Spot on, but unbelievable! 👍
I really enjoy watching your reactions because you're respectful of the performances, you don't talk through them or pause too much (a major issue with lots of reactors). And I love how you get into the music 😊, your love of great talent is a joy to watch.
Andrea Bocelli is a beautiful man, blessed with incredible musicality and a sublime voice. And in every interview I have ever seen him give, he has been utterly humble, gracious and down to earth. His voice has developed even more over the years since this was recorded. There is another beautiful duet...Bocelli and Placido Domingo performing the duet from Bizet's Pearl Fishers. Makes me tear up immediately.
You are not alone. It was #1 on the world chart for 6 months when I checked midstream, and it may have gone on longer. I was so impressed that I printed out the lyrics really big, and would listen to the cassette in my car singing along, probably making people think I was weird, which would probably be a correct assessment. Caveat. The Italian is very hard to wade through. I then re-wrote it, phonetically which helped me to finally get it. BTW, they are not saying good bye to one another, they are, together, saying goodbye to the marketplace of souls. See y'all. Weeze headin' out now! You should learn it. It's in you already. The first paragraph is the hardest, and goes: "Quando sono solo Sogno all'orizzonte E mancan le parole Si lo so che non c'è luce In una stanza quando manca il sole Se non ci sei tu con me, con me" That part has to be rewritten by sound, as it is just too convoluted otherwise. The rest is pretty easy. Su le finestre Mostra a tutti il mio cuore Che hai accesso Chiudi dentro me La luce che Hai incontrato per strada Con te partirò Paesi che non ho mai Veduto e vissuto con te Adesso si li vivrò Con te partirò Su navi per mari Che, io lo so No, no, non esistono più Con te io li rivivrò." THen it sorta repeats mostly. I can just see you walking down the strada, humming or singing it, and people joining in. While at it....Cat Stevens' "O Caritas" is a good one for learning some Latin. Great song and show!
Literal, non-poetic, translation: "When I'm alone Dream on the horizon And words are missing Yes, I know there is no light In a room when the sun is missing If you're not with me, with me Up the windows Show everyone my heart That you have access Close inside me The light that You met on the street With you I will leave Countries I never have Seen and lived with you Now I will live them With you I will leave On ships for seas That, I know No, no, they no longer exist With you I will relive them When you're away Dream on the horizon And words are missing And I know you're with me, with me You my moon you are here with me My sun you are here with me With me, with me, with me With you I will leave Countries I never have Seen and lived with you Now yes I will live them With you I will leave On ships for seas That, I know No, no, they no longer exist With you I will relive them With you I will leave On ships for seas That, I know No, no, they no longer exist With you I will relive them With you I will leave Me with you"
Any music Jamal reacts to is good to watch, because of Jamal's reactions. I'd say he's so in love with music that you always get a deeper connection with the music. Jamal has so many qualities on display whenever he's reacting and when he pauses, he shares of his knowledge and experience with music.
If you loved this performance check out "Andrea Bocelli Celine Dion The Prayer" very meaningful song . Andrea is now performing with son Matteo (25) and daughter Virginia (11) watch Andrea Bocelli, Matteo Bocelli and Virginia Bocelli The Greatest Gift. It is just beautiful.
I don’t believe they ever dated. This magical song, amazing! The song is not about a couple breaking up. It’s about a couple who are traveling together to different places; & leaving to venture onto another destination 💕💕
Their voices are beyond sensational! They are Heavenly! Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman preformed this live at the Teatro Silenzio in Italy in 2007. Also, prior in 1996 was their first performance together I believe. They are long time friends now. I think you know by now Andrea is blind, and Italian. They are a very expressive people, and they touch their loved ones, family and friends, a lot in endearing ways. We first saw Andrea preform on PBS, and he sang this song with Sarah Brightman. We fell in love with them both! Many years followed where we listened to Andrea preform on PBS, and we bought many of his DVDs and CDs. My mom loved him especially. Whenever he was on PBS preforming she made certain to watched it, along with all of us. The man has a voice from Heaven, and when he sang with Sarah it was the BEST EVER! On September 15, 2011 Andrea Bocelli gave a free concert on the Great Lawn of Central Park in New York, accompanied by the New York Philharmonic conducted by Alan Gilbert, music director of the Westminster Symphonic Chior. The concert was broadcast live in the USA and Canada by PBS, and in Italy by Rai 1. This concert was turned into a live album and dvd titled ‘Concerto: One Night in Central Park.’ Heaven came down that night and kissed the earth! It was likely the best concert we ever experienced, and the concert with Sarah Brightman a very close second. My mother ADORED Andrea Bocelli, and often played his music on CD and then watched the DVDs. Her favorite songs were ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ sung with Sarah, and Amazing Grace sung in Central Park. The day she passed from this earth in the evening when everything settled down I played those two songs, soon after her funeral I got out all his albums she had on cds and played them, then watched the concerts, and let the music fly upward to Heaven for my Mama… Thanks for this review, Jamel. More than you know, thank you! God bless you and your loved ones!
We saw Sarah in Atlantic City Christmas time of 2021. She was amazing. Love this video with the timpanist front and center, as I am a percussionist myself and am timpanist in a community band.
They didn't date but I did read that she genuinely adores him and I am sure it's mutual. This song was HUGE in 1997 and her Album DIVE is an amazing mix of pop. Check out her song Captain Nemo
Played at my oldest Sister's funeral back in 2020, we were all brought up with classical music.. My older brother and my younger Sister and I held hands in a circle while it was being played, the circle we thought would not be broken, sadly my younger Sister died suddenly 6mths later (2 years ago this week aged just 62,) during Covid no saying goodbye.. we couldn't even see her in the chapel of rest.. so a top on my playlist always,
Andrea is blind so Sarah is guiding him on the stage, his story is quite inspiring.
About 20 years ago my wife and I had the amazing experience of attending a concert where Sarah and Andrea were the star perfomers. This was the last song they performed that night. They had a five minute standing ovation. We feel lucky to have been there and will never forget.

She's a very lovey touchy person....she's such a sweetie
When I first heard Andrea sing this song 20+ years ago, all I could think is this must be how angels sound in heaven.
Andrea and Sarah are perfect together in this, you can see how close their friendship is. Such a beautiful song...
He recently has been singing with his son and daughter which is amazing..
Yes, it's so awesome!!
More Sarah Brightman! She is a jewel! ❤️
So beautiful it makes me cry. One of my most favorites. At one point in my life I had reason to be contacted by Bocelli's PR team. Aww, that's lovely!!
A duo that will never be bettered, bravo Sarah & Andrea.
Thank you for Andrea Bocelli. He is amazing. Brightman is a jewel.
I am not normally a big opera lover. But I love this song & the amazing talent of Andrea Bocelli & Sarah Brightman. She was married for a time to composer Andrew Lloyd Webber & was the lead in his Broadway musical "Phantom Of The Opera".
She was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber?? 🤢
I'm not either, but some of it is good, this included. Andrea Bocelli is amazing. Not to mention being some serious eye candy. 😉
@@OP-1000 he wrote Phantom for her!
Not to be technical, but this isn't Opera. try watching Carmen, Eugene Onegin, or La Boheme...this is more of an aria duet.
@@OP-1000 Yes and she is the one specifically that he wrote the part in Phantom for.
Bocelli has the voice of an angel. I saw him in concert. Could not believe that sound was coming out of a human being.
Where did you see him? I saw him in Vienna in 99', and you are right.
His voice is so awesome recorded but it's even more awesome when heard live!!! I'm seeing him again this summer and I am so excited for it
Apparently Celine Dion said, "If God could sing, he would sound like Andrea Bocelli."
@@cellina.starfire his voice is literally the same in studio recording and live 😭
Me too!

It was played at my dad's funeral. Such a wonderful beautiful song.

She’s doing two things: keeping him calm as this was early in his career, and actually helping him stay oriented to the microphone. If he swayed too far the mic would not pick up his voice.
Worth looking up his youtube channel. He has some really lovely songs with his kids, who are also very skilled!
Here is my take on the physical touch from Sarah, both Sarah and Andrea are opera singers.Opera tells a story through song. This is one of two lovers saying goodbye. Thus she is simply acting out the felling of the song.
Tag on her helping him stay oriented… he is blind.

I can’t understand how we as a species can create something this beautiful and yet we haven’t learned to stop killing each other. 🥹
We? Most of us never kill anyone
My god, where did you dig this up? I listened to this so so many times. Haven’t heard it in years. Gorgeous. ❤️
One of the most touching performances I've seen! Beautiful duet. They KILL IT!
I love this one. I literally get chills down my spine when she gets with it. And then he takes off.
Y'all be safe

without detracting from sarah vocal abilities, which are very impressive, andreas' vocals are another level. andrea occupies the full range
They got me shedding tears and applauding in the balcony.
Sarah's voice is not of this world. How can that come from within her.
Jamel, if you have never heard an accomplished opera singer in person, you don't understand the raw power of their voice.
A dear friend was a fan of both Brightman and Bocelli. This was played at her memorial service. Makes me think of her and smile.
This song gives me chill bumps every single time I hear it! Love it!
another beautiful song from Sarah Brightman is Deliver Me. She proves why she's the best Phantom's Angel of Music
This is a perfect song. Immediately brings tears to my eyes.

Absolutely stunning song by two absolutely beautiful people!
This song , the orchestra and those God given voices are so heavenly one of my absolute favorites
Their duet is so beautiful!! I've loved it for many years. I'm a bigger fan of Andrea Bocelli than Sarah Brightman, but it's a classic. 😘😍
Friends, but respect and love within colleagues and industry. Also, assisting with movement due to his being blind.
Excellent reaction to a wondrous performance😀
This is music. You don't know what they're saying but it makes you feel something undeniably.

You should learn it. It's in you already. The first paragraph is the hardest, and goes:
"Quando sono solo
Sogno all'orizzonte
E mancan le parole
Si lo so che non c'è luce
In una stanza quando manca il sole
Se non ci sei tu con me, con me"
That part has to be rewritten by sound, as it is just too convoluted otherwise. The rest is pretty easy.
Su le finestre
Mostra a tutti il mio cuore
Che hai accesso
Chiudi dentro me
La luce che
Hai incontrato per strada
Con te partirò
Paesi che non ho mai
Veduto e vissuto con te
Adesso si li vivrò
Con te partirò
Su navi per mari
Che, io lo so
No, no, non esistono più
Con te io li rivivrò."

"When I'm alone
Dream on the horizon
And words are missing
Yes, I know there is no light
In a room when the sun is missing
If you're not with me, with me
Up the windows
Show everyone my heart
That you have access
Close inside me
The light that
You met on the street
With you I will leave
Countries I never have
Seen and lived with you
Now I will live them
With you I will leave
On ships for seas
That, I know
No, no, they no longer exist
With you I will relive them
When you're away
Dream on the horizon
And words are missing
And I know you're with me, with me
You my moon you are here with me
My sun you are here with me
With me, with me, with me
With you I will leave
Countries I never have
Seen and lived with you
Now yes I will live them
With you I will leave
On ships for seas
That, I know
No, no, they no longer exist
With you I will relive them
With you I will leave
On ships for seas
That, I know
No, no, they no longer exist
With you I will relive them
With you I will leave
Me with you"
Sarah Brightman is one of the most enchanting singers on this planet, in my opinion.

Any music Jamal reacts to is good to watch, because of Jamal's reactions.
I'd say he's so in love with music that you always get a deeper connection with the music.
Jamal has so many qualities on display whenever he's reacting and when he pauses, he shares of his knowledge and experience with music.
♥♥♥♥ chills and groosebumps !!!! Never get tired of hearing this
The way she looked at him was so sweet. I don't know much about this type of music, but this was so beautiful!
Sarah is freaking sensational in the movie Repo! The Genetic Opera. She lights that entire film on 🔥
This is a funeral favourite. Was played for my grandad's, but I couldn't play it at my mum's funeral as I thought it'd be too much.
It is just beautiful.
this is such a quality song, never gets old
I don’t believe they ever dated. This magical song, amazing! The song is not about a couple breaking up. It’s about a couple who are traveling together to different places; & leaving to venture onto another destination 💕💕
Anyone who saw the Vegas water show will never forget this song !
So epic. I have a video of the whole show and it’s unbelievable
The day she passed from this earth in the evening when everything settled down I played those two songs, soon after her funeral I got out all his albums she had on cds and played them, then watched the concerts, and let the music fly upward to Heaven for my Mama…
Thanks for this review, Jamel. More than you know, thank you! God bless you and your loved ones!
So awesome that you reacted to this! Even his children inherited his talent! ("A Bocelli Family Christmas") So angelic! 👼
I have got to see this man !!!!! I love him !!!!
Andrea Bocelli its amazing saw him 2 days ago first concert in my life im glad it was him his voice is amazing. BRAVOOO
They both sing like angels . Heaven on earth.
One of the best songs, ever!
No matter what the cost.... Going to see Andrea Bocelli will be one of the best concerts you'll ever go to.. Magical event to hear...
Bravo! Magnificent!!
Canto Della Terra is another great popular music song with Andrea Bocelli, Sarah Brightman singing together.
This song makes me tear up. The human vocal range and power is so beautiful and layered
I wouldn't listen to this type of music normally, but this is incredible.
Breathtaking.
How could any sentient being NOT cry when hearing this song, with these singers, and this orchestra?
Some Music touches your Soul irrespective of your preferences.
Listen to Sarah Brightman singing 'Scarborough Fair'. Nice to see you again.
Played at my oldest Sister's funeral back in 2020, we were all brought up with classical music.. My older brother and my younger Sister and I held hands in a circle while it was being played, the circle we thought would not be broken, sadly my younger Sister died suddenly 6mths later (2 years ago this week aged just 62,) during Covid no saying goodbye.. we couldn't even see her in the chapel of rest.. so a top on my playlist always,
That ending.... chokes me up every single time...
Sarah Brightman also a beautiful ballet professional--multi talented angels on this earth.
The pinnacle on RUclips. You won't find anything more divine.
