The fourth Amendment says "the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers and effects against unreasonable search and seizure." I am pretty sure knowing what is in our accounts above $600 qualifies as unreasonable search

Nope because banks aren't equally protected. You make a deal with the bank, the bank makes a deal with the gov. That's how they get around the 4th Amendment. This worked with Google and others.
We should be able to look at politicians’ bank accounts to figure out how they became millionaires on non-millionaires salaries.

Our friend who works as a financial planner thinks this is a plan to destroy banks, starting with small ones, ultimately to consolidate into one central bank.

I told him it wasn’t active yet, and his response “it’s a warning, better safe than sorry”. The next day… I was at the bank, doing the same thing lol

The cost will be passed to account owners. Look for fees to be implemented. $25 to $35 a month maintenance fees to ALL accounts.

FYI from working in the financial service industry I already know that they can look at not just your bank account but every transaction you make on a daily basis. I think a better way to approach is the start a campaign called Defund the IRS.
Well yeah. If you can see every transaction so can they.
Of course the IRS can check our bank account but it has to be for a reason. It’s a big difference from being able to look when needed (tax fraud or a one time big deposit) than tracking ever dollar we put in that’s over $600.

I am a commercial banker. This will undermine the faith in our financial system and will cause people to ditch financial institutions. That will lead to lending issues for them as people will pull their funds. I recommend you call your representatives and tell them you don’t want this. It will also lead to increased fees for the consumer because the banks won’t pay for the increased cost you will one way or another.

If they can access the bank accounts and review transactions, they know everything about you. Virtually every activity has a cost. If you can compare bank accounts, you can see interactions between people. You know who associates with whom and where everyone is going. You can run pattern recognition to track individuals. Depending on how the data is shared, other agencies could use the data to prosecute, or if there ends up being a bad actor, maliciously ruin someone's life. There is real costs with this in term of both financial, social, and for some, it could cost them everything.

That's why the police need a court order to look at financial transactions. This is a violation of one's constitutional rights!

I went 2 years about 15 years ago without a checking or savings account. I rec'd a physical check in the mail for my pay and would take it to the bank of the company I worked for and cashed it. I paid my landlord cash, went to the electric company office and paid cash etc. I was living pay check to pay check and didn't want to pay the $5 a month maintenance fee.

I didn’t believe him when he said that they could just view you through your electronics (webcams) even if they were off. Then we found out that’s absolutely a thing. Snowden even confirmed that turning off your phone doesn’t mean anything, they can find you. He wasn’t always right, but quite a bit of the crazy stuff ended up having tangible aspect to them

Yep...and if you rent out a house or condo and you deposit money into your account and then pay the mortgage with it...even if not making anything. a month...they want to know about that too.
