    Do you think it’s worth the time to trim competition brisket?!

    There’s a lot of brisket trimming videos out there, but this one by far is the best & thorough videos as brisket can’t be somewhat intimidating to trim for a comp. I will use this one on my next competition! Again thank you Alonzo

    Great video Brother. Last week I saw a Brisket at the grocery store. It had a lot of fat. I looked at it and didn’t have a idea of how to trim it. I have seen your Brisket on your videos and it looks fantastic . Now that I saw this video l’m willing to try of trimming one. Thanks a lot for this video. I know that I won’t trim exactly like you but l will give it a try. Have a great week.

      I wasn’t for the longest time either. Felt weird to trim so much and why would you sauce everything? But, in it’s on way it’s very fun and it’s just a different game!

    Great video and Great details! Question, how many days before comp do you trim and do you freeze the brisket after trim or just keep on ice/fridge?

  • @sabrenacantu7021

    This trim might seem overboard but the results are good and consistent every time. I highly recommend trying it if you’re trying to up your brisket game!

    What do you do with all the excess meat you've trimmed off during a comp? Not the fat to make tallow but actually good parts you aren't using?

    I have that same exact knife and it doesn't seem half as sharp as yours. I do run it through a knife sharpener similar to the orange and black one on your table but maybe yours is better. What brand do you have (if you don't mind me asking)?

    • @GulfCoastSmoke
      @GulfCoastSmoke  Год назад +1

      I’ll get it for you when I get home BUT, I’ll say this. Be aggressive with it! I at times will get metal shavings off of my knife. Then I’ll use the other part of the sharpener to smooth out the shaving I just did!

    • @redbirdsjunkie
      @redbirdsjunkie Год назад

      @@GulfCoastSmoke I think that’s the move. The last time I used my sharpener (2 weeks ago) I decided to go yolo and gave my knife the business and I think I could tell it made a difference. Appreciate ya!

    If you boil some water to dip your knife in every once and a while your knife will slide through the fat a little easier.
