Watch Predator vs Alien
In the comic books after Dutch gets back home he's in the Hospital dying from radiation poisoning. Then he disappears from his room. The Predators had kidnapped him. They heal him and even give him genetic improvements out of respect for his abilities. He is then taken back to their home world. He then spends years hunting with them. Dutch was supposed to show up as a cameo explaining all of this in one of the sequels, but Arnold was unable to make it because of scheduling problems.
Now this is a 80s classic, I'm gonna have me some fun.
Definitely a classic. It’s the movie Ive seen so many times and still love it!
When I went to Mexico in 1990, you could horseback in the jungle, and you came across this spot. They had created a bar, etc, and a rope swing that swung you over the water scene, and you could swim in the exact spot. They also had huge wood sculptures of Arnold in full gear to protect the pot/Marijuana crops.

I think Pred 2 benefits from slowly revealing the Predator over the length of the movie like the original did. Other sequels just throw them out there in the first scene

The Actor who played the Predator in the first & second movies was KEVIN PETER HALL, he passed away a year after filming the second Predator Movie. He contracted HIV from a blood transfusion during surgery from injuries he sustained from a car accident.
He died from AIDS-Related Pneumonia on April 10th, 1991, a month short of his 36th Birthday.
Kevin Peter Hall is the black guy piloting the chopper in the end, this being his cameo.
Jean Claude Van Damme was supposed to play the predator but was fired because he felt sick in the costume.

Fantastic choice of a classic movie. Arnolds "If it bleeds, we can kill it" is another Arnold phrase is noteworthy. You brothers reactions are great. Follow you everyday
The reason they all came in firing with no questions is because Mac yelled "Contact"! It's often confused with "Sergeant " in the subtitle. "Contact " mean he sees the enemy and is engaging them.
Then they had a "mad minute" everyone firing to sweep the area.
Later on comes the Alien vs Predator showdown.
The reason they all just ran up and started shooting with Mac was because Mac yelled “contact” meaning he had contact with the enemy. So it becomes a shoot first ask questions later type of situation. A lot of people think Mac yelled Sargent because of subtitles but the script clearly says he yelled contact.

In many Native American tribes, the warriors would cut the chest as a way to say, "this is my heart, the heart of a warrior". He stayed to die not running in fear but standing his ground like a true honorable warrior. This movie did a great job honoring Native American and modern U.S. Military warriors.
I always thought that he recognized they were being hunted by some kind of warrior, most likely not of this world however he might have defined that to himself, and he was giving up his own life as a distraction to give the rest of the team time to escape of course, but he also realized that one of these two options was also happening. Most likely, if there were some kind of honor involved with the hunt, he was denying the Predator the chance to draw first blood as a kind of "F you" to maybe get him to actually engage in some kind of duel to really ensure there would be a fight that could possibly give the team a chance or that if the Predator was collecting trophies (remember how many skinned bodies they've found) then Billy could also ruin the hide he wanted to collect as another sort of "F you" to get the same effect . I do love that heart of a warrior framing though, that's great.

Maybe the best thing about the Predator as a monster is that it ISN'T a monster. He's just incredibly skilled as a hunter and wants a fair fight. He has a code of honor and he can think and plan and actually make decisions about what he does. He's not some insane cannibal or alien monster with no thoughts. He's the hunter, and Arnold is the prey.

@Dystopia1111 . For sure..in my opinion some of the best cinematography also..tge natural landscapes. The actors are great also..James Earl Jones..Max Von Sydow..and Mako ( who is the wizard character as well as the best narrator in a movie in my opinion personally.. good fighting choreography with sword technique ( a Japanese sword fighting teacher trained the acters some for the film..and was an actual character in the movie briefly) ..no cgi..minimum special effects ..real stunts..Arnold happened to be the perfect visual representation of Conan ..like Christoph Reeve for the Superman movies in the 70's and 80's..even with some flaws or things I would think changing that would have made the movie better..it's a good movie . I sneaked into the movie in 1982 to see it..since I was twelve I was prohibited..it was a " PG17 " rated movie..I had gotten a ticket for some other movie that was showing at the same time..waited for the start time..went into the movie that I had tge ticket for..then after sixty seconds or so I went to the restroom in the lobby..waited about twenty seconds..came out..lobby was clear..went right into Conan 😄😃
When the Predator shot Dutch (Arnold) with his plasma canon it hit Dutch's M16 near the receiver-butt area causing minor burns and the bleeding stops when cauterized by the plasm. So, when Dutch falls in water it washes the blood away and no more bleeding. A very logical explanation for a very fictional movie. 😉
Jesse Ventura, the guy chewing tobacco. He was a Navy Seal. He was a professional wrestler called Jesse, "the body" Ventura. He was also the Governor of Minnesota.
In the 80s I was a Radio Shack Junkie and built a makeshift entertainment center with so many speakers it took up the wall. I was a DJ then. When This Movie came out on VHS, we had a party and would play the Shooting the Jungle scene so loud with windows open, the cops were called on shots fired. When we showed them what it was they fuckin Freaked Out and made us close the window and Play It Again!

By the time Predator was being filmed, Arnold who was born in Austria, learned how to speak english very well (even with a deep Austrian accent). So, he was given many more lines than in Terminator.
He spit on his shoe because he doesn't trust him. They work alone and he is an unknown to worry about.
I like that the predator "respected" Arnold enough to take off his technology and was ok I'll fight you hand to hand

I saw this movie secretly while being about 10 years old 😁 It surely scared me beyond my expectations but I love this movie ever since.
The movie was filmed in Costa Rica in the summer time. The Predator was toying with Arnold because he was the strongest and they used green glow sticks for the Predators blood just a few fun faces about the movie
This is one of the first vhs tapes I bought. I liked the second one two and Alien vs predator also I think the one after with Danny Trejo I believe.

The Predator’s suits were so heavy, the men who wore them trained on a beach in dry sand, carrying sand bags for weight. These guys were also large men to begin with, especially tall. As an example some of them were 6’7”, 7’1”and 7’5” respectively. Aliens vs Predators is an excellent movie, and explains a lot more. The Predators have always been my favorite alien. They’re big, bad, very intelligent, and I really love the costume with the braids.

At 43:20, it wasn't a weak-ass laser. The laser hit Arnold's weapon. Not him. The rifle was destroyed and exploded, injuring Arnold. He was lucky. He would have gone out just like Jesse if it hadn't hit the gun.

They really need to see Alien and Aliens.
Special Operation teams train an insane amount so they can predict each other's moves and preferences this is key to their effectiveness; Dillon (Apollo Creed) has been running a desk so long he is out of practice throwing off their routines. These types of teams have and respect rank but in field and off they are brothers first rank second. They need to talk and act fast, so ideas need to be conveyed quickly to preserve the mission effectiveness and safety of team members. Jesse Venture the "sexual tyrannosaurus" who operates "old painless", was a Navy Seal in real life who served in Vietnam war.
Proper action film, like Spielbergs Jaws, you don’t see the bad guy until near the end of the movie, just tension build up.
I think the nuke going off at the end was his ship exploding miles away same time he self-destructed

56:15 predators/ hunters have a certain code. That if ever they found a warrior that they acknowledged as strong. They will put a mark on their face. A symbol that will mark that this person is not to be killed or seen as a prey. There is a alien vs predator movie that shows how a prey becomes a hunter and bestowed the mark of the predator.

Bill duke was an amazing actor...juliard trained and amazing in American jiggolo! Billy was a complete wildman and had 2 guys for 24/7 security. Not for his protection but to keep him out of trouble!! The helicopter pilot is the Predator! They gave him one speaking line, so he could get a film credit and his sag card! There's many more predator films and Alien vs Predator! There's also a much larger tie in here. Aliens predators humans Replicants and Terminators are all related by a race of beings called Engineers, discussed in the movie Prometheus! In the 80-90s, Arnold was the absolute movie king of the one liners/memes! So many to repeat, but the most repeated line and meme in history is, " I'll be back!" Hard to believe this movie is almost 40 years old!

In shotts in this movie u see resumes of the Crew. Dallas worked for Tyrell Corp 😮😮😮 That's Bladerunner! Cyberdyne Systems supplied tech for Tyrell Corp and Weyland Corp! Weyland Corp did industrial and flight operations for Tyrell Corp! Tyrell Corp is Bladerunner and Weyland Corp is Aliens! Cyberdyne Systems is Terminator!

Arnold had to drop 25 pounds before making this film because the director thought he was too huge to play a Special Forces Operator . He still looks huge though

I think you guys would enjoy the movie, "Patton" starring George. C. Scott. It's a true story about a WWII general with a hard-edged personality. He was controversial but succeeded in winning battles.

Ok I know most people will tell you Not to watch All the Predator Movies…. However if you love the Predator and the world etc… You Two Must watch Predator 2 from the 90s Predators from I believe 2010?? The Predator (2018 and the one that gets the most hate even though I still think it’s not a horrible movie just a victim of studio politics etc) And Finally Prey 2020 which I think is the best movie since the First… possibly better than the first… I know sacrilege….🤣 Also you must watch Predator Vs Aliens and Predator Vs Aliens Requiem… They all give you more info on the predators their gadgets their beliefs etc… there’s also an entire world of books, comic books, and video games that are Awesome😀🫶🏻🫶🏻
