I suggest cleaning the movement in Sodium Pentothal. It will spill the beans on its friend the case.

I still really like that blue Milgauss homage. It is very inexpensive, and looks amazing for $41 US. Yes it is cheap. But it is a looker. I have "almost" bought it several times.

Then go ahead, for the money and when you know what it is exactly that you buy then there's no harm!

It is obviously plated. You can even see the plate connection in the lug. Apart from that, ss doesn't get that deep scratches from such a tool.

I think what is established in this video is that it's definitely not plated. I would like to find out a way if it's stainless steel or not, Nathan has proposed one that I'll look into

That case might have been hanging that way up and the plating thicker on that side. I'd like to see the other lug scratched.

Thank you SO MUCH for revealing that! I actually watched that review but not until the very end and missed out on that very important bit of information. You are the whistle-blower for the Sainles Steelgate!
But yes as you can see they might have resolved the issue for this one, and your complaint might have been what did it. I'm tempting on trying the same with the Explorer, maybe it's going to be the same6as yours?

Great video, but I’d like more. I also own this watch since it homages my grail watch, the Milgauss. It’s gorgeous, and has great specs for the price. But like you all, I’ve wondered if “Sainless” printed on the case back was simply a typo error or if it’s an admission that it’s not STAINLESS STEEL as described on the company’s AE sales page. Looking forward to a follow up video testing the bezel, bracelet & crown. Keep up the great work!

Cut it straight across the middle and completely in half with a grinder, then send one half back to Benyar as a return and ask for your money back or you'll blitz Instagram with pictures of the other half and prove them to be thieving liars.

Take it apart (remove movement, dial, crystal and any gaskets) and give it a bath in diluted hydrochloric acid for a few hours. That should dissolve any plating, if it completely dissolves, well...

Sulphuric acid is the more dangerous one. Hydrochloric acid can be used as a drain cleaner, glasses/goggles and latex gloves should do.
Oh, and if you dilute it, water first.
And no, coke won't be strong enough. 😁

    • @nathski22

@@Horologique it discolours the stainless steel. It turns it a kind of dull grey. Dipped some jewellery and used Leatherman pliers to pull them out, stained the pliers and the sink haha. I’d probably try it on a very inconspicuous area, using a cotton bud or similar to control the amount of solution that contacts the metal.

Who cares if it's stainless steel or plated... Its a cheap and cheerful there's far more important things to think about.... Its looks great for the cash you pay although long-term durability may be a problem.... One thing is for sure they are better value for money than a Rolex.... How Rolex justify their ridiculous prices I'll never know.... Pathetic rolex show a bit of class the way you treat us, watch lovers is disgraceful with your pathetic waiting lists.... And why don't you supply a, Luxury LEATHER BOX!!!! with your so called mass produced luxuary watches.... Come on Rolex vinyl covers box.... Your having a laugh 😂😂😂😂

    • @daniela.m.6315
      @daniela.m.6315 2 года назад

Well, Rolex is a LUXURY brand, and if that is the case, their prices MUST be well above the average Joe's capabilities, regardless of how much their product actually costs. It is how they assure the Rolex buyer that he'll be part of an exlusive club. If Rolex didnt charge what they do they would cease to be a luxury brand and therefore their whole value proposition would collapse. Simple as that.

@@daniela.m.6315 I agree Daniel. Also, how this guy expressed himself here, it is very obvious, that he would be an "undesirable" customer for the Rolex company.
