Actually, don't tell them you need 27 cards, that's stupid. You need to make it seem random. Just drop three cards at a time to make three piles of nine cards without making a huge deal out of it and say that you can save some time for not using all the cards. But yeah, great trick.
Even if you ignore this is the oldest trick in the book that most 6th graders who google magic tricks do... If your trick takes 10ish minutes you either have to make the Eifel tower disappear or the trick is too fucking long.
One tip. After you've made the piles from the deck that they shuffled, ask them to shuffle the piles even more. Then when they've chosen the card mentally and you or them have made the piles again, ask them to shuffle the piles one more time because on the first round the order of the cards doesn't matter yet. After that during the second and third round they don't even bother to shuffle the piles any more especially if you don't ask them to, because they already know how ridiculously fair it has been. Also, usually I have the guts to make them deal the cards into three piles, because most people who has playes card games in their lives naturally makes piles dealing the cards one by one. Obvisly you also need to make quick false cuts or shuffles after putting the pile with their card to the top. Lots of shuffling really sells any illusion in any card trick the best way possible.

You just "hardcoded" it to 7 :-) Your ending has too many magician's choices for my taste...i personally, I don't believe in asking several of them in a row, that just feels a lot like "wtf am I even choosing for" .-) But I'm no pro, so that's just me.

Here’s a thought. Instead of cutting 2/3 of the deck put the 27 cards in your pocket. Have them pick a number from 1 to 27. Since you know it’s the seventh card. Let’s say they pick the number eight. Pull out the top six cards one bottom card and then the 8 th card would be the first on top in ur pocket. Hope this makes sense

I learned this trick as a child and had to stop doing it. The spectators complained it was too long for such a boring ending. I agree with them, boring payoff for a lot of dealing and picking cards. However yes, it IS an easy one.
It's not boring with good misdirection and it doesn't even take too long. If you don't talk much about the intuition or whatever, of course the audience is gonna get bored just like with any trick if you don't make any atmosphere to a trick. The tricks themselves aren't the only thing that matters.
These self-working tricks are amazing. I think a cool way to do the reveal would be to simply take the pile with their card, look through them, say "I don't know which one it is", move their card to the bottom, hold them between your thumb and forefinger and have the spectator hit the cards with a downward motion (you showed this in another video), which will only leave their card.

I've seen a trick close to this one, same line up, 27 cards, and it was a bit different, you would deal some cards face up, and you would count and like the 13th card would be theirs and you would count it face down.
