I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up ruclips.net/user/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

This is a valuable addition to my woodwork collection ruclips.net/user/postUgkxkNYRBJuiJ6EwD-tQSAlxg0eFKsnR2cgz I still will rate this woodwork plan as the best in my reference library. It always seems to stand out from the rest whenever you go through the library. This is a masterpiece.

The only thing I'd change is the MDF. It takes the same amount of time to cut 45 angles and it'll look that much better. To each their own but don't be afraid of 45's! It's incredibly easy and visually rewarding!

Not necessarily needed here, but those knots in most types of pine/fir/hem fir, boards will bleed through latex paint. Consider shellac sanding sealer, or using an oil based primer next time. Really nice hack. Looks great.

I just made this and wish I could share the pictures. I bought two units and made this as an L shape. It came out amazing. I used a walnut stain and skipped the MDF and backboard (cant see the back), but otherwise I followed exactly and it came out great. I adjusted measurements to account for the fact that I did an L shape, but I am so happy with the project. Thanks!!

Beginners and Hacks. when it is upside down, how do you keep the 2 by 6 boards together for a tight smooth top. Clamps...new idea.....Next Ikea is composition material get those screws into the middle and still it might miss and go through the edge.. Don't overstress this box this has cheap corners and will give and bend, no more bench, even with the boards in the back, you might get a few more screws in there not just two on each end. Maybe one day he will show you how to do that. Or accidental learning is so much fun and stress. Did you choose the best side of the boards for the top or it just happens ?.....Hals Wood Shop.....This series should b e called Pretty in Pine.

Shiplap is a type of wooden board used commonly as exterior siding in the construction of residences, barns, sheds, and outbuildings. It is either rough-sawn 1" or milled 3/4" pine or similarly inexpensive wood between 3" and 10" wide with a 3/8" - 1/2" rabbet on opposite sides of each end. - wiki also, where's the chic?

    • @robhimself79

Wow, thanks for the psa pervert, why do you feel the need to criticize a couple that makes such detailed (the most detailed) diy project videos on a common home owners level. Sure the projects could be upgraded with simple 45’s and a kreg jig for a more professional look and I’m sure they understand this but the common home owner doesn’t have these tools, most of the projects they put out can be done by literally anyone and you can make updates or adjustments as you feel necessary to make it your own or more professional. They do a great job showing necessary cuts measurements and supply list, actually so good that if you purchased the equipment to do one project they showed you could probably do 90% percent of there projects with the same tools and just screenshot the supply list for a shopping list. But if it makes you feel better to know the correct terminology on shiplap then that’s cool i guess good for you. I bet your a very skilled carpenter since you use wiki.
