yakuza is probably one of the few series that does qte in a good way unlike some games like that dying light and sly cooper where its literally the entire final boss encounter this series uses it sparingly to test reflexes and just gives a small penalty for failing them.

while awano's wall punch is #1 in my heart i have to give a shout out to ichiban breaking sawashiro's cane at 1:10:56 if only bc all his previous sequences in sawashiro fights involve him getting shown up in some way while this one is 100% just him doing a really cool kick and actually coming out on top with a skirmish against sawashiro for once
Oh so you CAN escape it? I'm just dumb then lol. I think what happened is I got this qte with Mr. Shakedown, but I didn't mash hard enough which lead to me thinking you couldn't escape. I never even tried mashing again when it happened with other bosses in Kiwami.

For me 31:50 is one of the best for me, I don't even know why but it seems so good. Someya's final fight is also incredible if you know the reason behind it and the QTE is very well made. 49:30

I still have Ryuji’s first QTE as my first favorite, and his last QTE as my second favorite in his final battle. Kuze’s final QTE is my third favorite. I like those three because Ryuji (I like him cause he’s a honorable dude AND a Dragon) and Kuze (he earned my respect and is pretty badass) trade blows with Kiryu, and Kiryu either loses or wins.

Kashiwagi is definitely one of the hardest, but the crown has to go to all of Dead souls’ QTE’s on dead souls difficulty, which I think are genuinely faster than the human reaction time Also special mention to Toki’s QTE from Losy paradise on canon difficulty
That final Nishiki qte was fucking brilliant, and I don't mean the reused Kuze one. I love the fact that Kiryu dodges out of the way and uppercuts Nishiki, but Nishiki uses the uppercut as a catapult for throwing a powerful jab at Kiryu right in his face. Fucking brilliant!
for what i've seen about lost judgment it seems that they are going the yakuza 7 route of having mid fight cutscenes but without qte, tho i've only seen one boss

Like a Dragon wont appeal to me as much as the other Yakuza games; I get that it's an RPG and it's about team work, but I feel like most of these bosses could have wiped the floor with Ichiban in a one-on-one fight, unlike Kiryu who just makes you feel like a beast wrecking through anyone that got in his way.
Just you wait til ichiban acquires god status kiryu death power level (even if I prefer ichi because his weakness can actually lead to interesting stakes/challenges)

OG 1 and 2 had some wild animations not present in Kiwami. Stuff like this is why I never asked for a Kiwami 3. (depending on the circumstances at the time of development, you just get stuff watered down to save up assets, which I get why they gotta do that but it doesn't change that it's watered down)

Well the advantage of ichiban is that his friends are not going to die all the time (ptt: I still prefer kiryu but it is personal opinion)
that’s one of the main points of the game, that Ichiban doesn’t match up to those legends yet (even his tattoo is a reference to that)
