Great video! Make sure your wall is not bowed otherwise the mounting bracket will not attach to the cabinet hardware. One section of our drywall bowed away from the mounting bracket. When we tried to hang the double cabinet it would not hook to the hardware on the back of the cabinet. We used a level to determine where we would need to add wood shims behind the mounting bracket. The hardware finally lined up and we were able to hang the cabinets.
I’ve been assembling and putting up ikea shelving and units in two houses for over 20 years and I have NEVER seen any instructions as confusing as the printed instructions for the Besta brackets. Without this video I would have wasted at least an hour on wrong measurements and then trying to figure the damn thing out.
Thamks for posing this. I'm trying to attach the brackets to the cabinet, a besta 120x38x40, and there simply are no holes for the two tabs that go into the side panels. Theyre not there, and the panels are not swapped or turned.
So if I have a 120 cm wide double cabinet + a single 60 cm cabinet, will I then be able to hang them side by side using connectors between thei rails? The reason I'm asking is because I want them to align as perfectly straight as possible and with no gap.
You should get 3 60cm cabinets. Each rail is designed for a “single” cabinet. I guess you will be able to make it work but it will definitely be noticeable.
@@h-o-w-t-o I wanted to have the 120 cm cabinet with doors, and the 60 cm one open with just a visible shelf. The 120 cm BESTÅ cabinet comes with two railings and a middle connector, and most likely the 60 cm comes with a railing too. However, not sure about a connector. But technically, I should be able to connect the two cabinets (60 + 120) using three connected suspension rails, right?
just checked it on ikea besta planner. Indeed doable www.ikea.com/addon-app/storageone/besta/web/latest/?range=besta&uiPlatform=web&locale=en-CA#/ you can use my code to see how it looks - M7TWQH Make sure to get all the parts. Railing doesn't come with them, get it separately.
Hi. Thanks for the video. Did you get the metal rail connectors from ikea? Bought exactly the same set but I’m missing the connectors and they are no where to be found on their website. 0:47
And check that you have a nice flat wall, and not one with even a tiny curve otherwise you cant place the 120cm unit (it doesnt hook in at both sides). Use multiple 60cm units.
Could you not have fitted the back board upside down in the cabinet, then mounted the cabinet upside down so that the ugly holes for the feet would be on the top out of sight !!!!!!!
Awesome install video, I just noticed however you have inserted the small shelf aluminum pieces upside down :D

I would have removed the TV out of fear.
Thanks for sharing!
Great video thanks
So you can actually daisy chain the mounting rail with more than 2?! Great!

Is it a TV cabinet? These are mounted different. Dont need a separate wall mount
they should be there)

@@h-o-w-t-o as I said. they're not.
Fantastic.
One tip: remove the tv before doing the job. It’s so easy to drop something accidentally
Totally agree with you. Was lazy and it wasn’t my first time doing it, so I skipped it)

usually 1 connector comes with each rail
Matę you mounted shelf pins upside down. It should be rounded part to the top. This way pins are invisible with shelf unit.
Guys I’d advise not using cooking oil with a drill as the heat friction may cause it to ignite. Use a lubricant like WD40 instead

I agree. Plus it is much lighter to hang on your own
So that's what that is lol.... I'm having issues getting those screws in thst go through the back to the bracket, bloody screw doesn't reach.
Just heads up. The metal shelving studs are wrong way around ..
