I somewhat found out what makes your uploads darker than they normally are (after experimenting with uploads on my @TopRareMedia channel) - you'd basically have to set the resolution of the original file of the video from 576 to 720, so RUclips unlocks the 720p feature (and possibly 720p50 if you've also deinterlaced it) and it should make the video looking much better.
