  • Ben Bergeron is a trainer of multiple CrossFit champions and the man behind fitness app, CompTrain, as well as the author of the book, ‘Chasing Excellence’. He is one of the most successful CrossFit coaches of all time, having quit his job in finance to work with athletes.
In this episode he discusses the mindset that creates champions, how small changes can create big results, and where people often go wrong on their journey towards fitness. Ben explores how our emotional responses can trigger physiological changes in the body, and how through awareness, we can have increased agency over these reactions. He also shares the idea of our inner voice and how this can take on the role of critic or coach at different times.
Ben provides a toolset of ideas, practises and actions to move into the new year with renewed purpose.

Damian, Jake, I really enjoy your interviews. The room you give your guests to speak and your probing questions (for me) makes the podcast. I like that neither of you are agreeable and aren't frightened to challenge a guest to expand their explanations or dig deeper on a point that's been made. Thank you, both.

One of the best podcast episode I've listened to. Highlights the problem with podcasting nowadays, names get clicks... Guess for those who consistently join and follow great podcasters there are hidden gems (and competitive advantage) for the taking 😊

I’ve been an advocate and a regular at my local CrossFit box for 9 years now. It peaked around 2018, in ten years it’ll be forgotten. It’s a shame.

Immediately an issue at 10:00. Your goal shouldn’t be the six pack…. Your goal is to overcome either an inner self loathing OR your need to show off. If you have friends over, true ‘friends’, will they care about your torso???

By what outcome is #1 CrossFit Trainer measured? I bet it’s not Championship titles by his athletes, because there are not much

Crossfit is to excercise is what parkour is to running.
