Benefit of the Clergy means that if someone read the Neckverse from the Bible, they would be tried in a Church court, right? Then how did Elizabeth I pass laws that meant witches could not be tried in Church courts, if Henry VIII already got rid of Benefit of the Clergy for them. Thanks.
