I really enjoyed this video - I love West Woods, and the Wansdyke, and it was really good to see it from your perspective with your historical / scholary insights.
Have you found the standing stone in the south east corner of West Woods? It features in my video titled "Wansdyke Part 1: Strange Things in West Woods". at about 4:18 onwards. I found it to be quite an atmospheric spot.

I get lost in West Woods quite frequently (and I did this time as well), my wife hates the place. I once thought there was shooting going on nearby and pegged it. There wasn’t. The place was playing with my wits. I shall have a lookout for the standing stone

Does the Wansdyke continue across the fields there - couldn't see it on the aerial overlay?

It goes all the way to Bristol but eastwards only goes another two miles or so and disappears just before Savernake Forest. All the more reason for me to buy an infra-red camera drone.
