Today, we’re going to be talking about how Mariah Carey made a triumphant career return following the release of her tenth studio album in 2005 - “The Emancipation of Mimi”.
After the collective failure that was her eighth studio album, “Glitter” and its successor “Charmbracelet” still falling short of her earlier successes in the decade prior, “The Emancipation of Mimi” proved Mariah Carey’s staying power and ability to rebuild herself following career missteps and personal difficulties.
With over 200 million worldwide sales, a plethora of awards and honors specifically dedicated to her, 19 No. 1 singles and 6 No. 1 records, Mariah Carey is a true powerhouse in the industry and one of the most prolific names in pop music. But even legends have times in their career where they may lose their footing

Y'all can come for me for mispronouncing 'Tommy Mottola' but judging by how I couldn't even pronounce Madonna's daughters' name in my most recent video...let's just assume I'm never going to get a single name right moving forward 😭 😅...
It’s fine. At this point the lambs are just making fun of his name, calling him sorts of stuff like Tomato Motorola or Mozzarella.
We still love you babe! No judgement here! ❤️
We waiting for greyson chance and Troye sivan vids. Luv ur contexts
Mariah released her book in 2020, it became #1 best selling.
Mariah became the highest paid judge when she joined AI.
Mariah Carey holds the record for most streamed song in a single day on Spotify.
She's now tied with Barbra Streisand as the biggest selling female artist in the US both with 65m+ certified album sales, and she's still active so she'll soon surpass miss Barbra. She's also the biggest selling international female in Japan. (Two of the biggest music market)
She just got her 19th #1 with All I want for Christmas.
Extending her record as a solo artist with the most #1 hits of all time.
She's the most #1 as a female producer
She's the most #1 as a female songwriter
She extends her record as an artist with the most cumulative weeks at #1.. 80week+ and counting with AIWFCIY returning to #1 every year.
She's far from over.. 3DECADES later she's still breaking and making records and history.
Her numbers in streams and sales are still ahead of all of her contemporaries.
And the fact that every new good singer is compared to her(calling them next Mariah, new Mariah) says she's still relevant to these days 👌 and she's still that Bitch to beat. Reigning Queen of The Music Industry.👑🦋
she won three* grammys fyi for this
it is THE biggest comeback of music history!! mariah did THAT!
*THE biggest comeback
One no. It is the biggest comeback in music history as a matter fact, VH1, MTV, Rolling Stone and Billboard declared it. The album sold over 10 million copies worldwide, a single blocked another single to reach the #1 position, We belong together stayed atop for non consecutive 14 weeks. Nobody has done that ever. It was the rebirth of a star, a star everybody thought had disintegrated yet it shone brighter than before
@@mijalakis3 yess fr!!
@@Suijiro99 Don't forget Britney's Circus, Lady Gaga's A Star is Born and Whitney Houston Bodyguard
Landiana love Whitney's The Bodyguard is not really a comeback. I'm Your Baby Tonight just had weaker sales compared to it's two predecessor but it was far from
being flop.
A Star Is Born and Circus were both successful but can't be compared to the magnitude of Emancipation of Mimi.
Mariah Carey is the only artist that has made a comeback with a single that topped the decade end charts in the 2000s! It’s remarkable and an inspiring story! It just goes to show you that fighting hard no matter what pays off!
mariah carey is such a legend. her comeback was HUGE and well-deserved!!
well legends dont stumble that hard. But okay, fine... Mimi is great.
@@eduardochavacano ??
@@eduardochavacano LOL you tried
❤️
@@eduardochavacano wdym by "hard", pinhead? she still sold millions of copies with Rainbow, Glitter, and Charmbracelet. Although it's not as significant as her first several ones, she still outsold most of your faves. Charts wise, Rainbow era had 2 #1 hits, Glitter era had a #2 hit, and Charmbracelet had a #3 hit. Vocally, the Charmbracelet Tour was arguable better than a number of her performances in the '90s. Yes, she was suffering from management issues as a consequence of her breaking away from a toxic label, but that didn't stop her from progressing through her career. She kept on making music without missing a single beat even with all the people sabotaging her. If you're saying she stumbled that hard, you must be one of those article writers manipulating the media to demoralize her, or at least you're one of their incarnations. So pick up your squashed jaw and brain on the floor, and get back to your crumbling cave with all your shallow arguments. Go research or watch a documentary of her story and REANALYZE YOUR PREPOSTEROUS DERISION.
I don’t even know if this video is still able to comprehend just how massive the TEOM era. Not only did the album sell extremely well, but WBT was number 1 for 14 weeks and blocked Shake it Off which sat at number 2. To then have DFAU go number 1 as well, for someone who had been completely written off after Charnbracelet to then have the tied second longest running number 1 song of all time (WBT) and a further two top 2 hits, is nothing short of miraculous. Mariah went from uncool and over the hump to the biggest star in the world again. I don’t think anyone will ever have such a prolific comeback ever again, truly a moment in pop culture history that will never be repeated probably!
Yes!! She completely reinvented heself! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It's hard to call it a "comeback" because she's always been there slayin.
Mariah was still selling more than any female artist (second only to Eminem) from 2001-04 with two top 3 singles and a compilation that sold 5 million worldwide. And she was in a "flop" era.
@@philipcohen267 this is totally false. In the period 2001-2004 there were a lot of women selling more: Britney, Christina, Beyonce, Avril, Kelly Clarkson no name a few.
@@TheGustavitou It's always good to verify one's argument completely before trying to prove others wrong.
In 2001-4
Christina: she released only 1 album Stripped and one top 3 single. Stripped sold 10M.
Beyonce: released one album Dangerously In Love and had 3 top 3 singles. DIL sold 11M
Kelly Clarkson: released two albums selling 9M combined and one top 3 single.
Britney: released two albums selling 21M combined and 1 top 3 single.
Mariah: released four albums (Glitter, Charmbracelet, Greatest Hits and Remixes) selling combined 12M and 2 top 3 singles.
They all performed roughly the same as Mariah in that time period, weighing in all factors. No female singer was bigger than Mariah at that time. My argument still stands.
@@philipcohen267 I'm a Day 1 lamb, but your statement about her being the second biggest selling artist between 2001-2004 after just Eminem is flat out lies. Not only the aforementioned women Gustabo Javier stated sold a lot more (because during that specific period, Mariah's 4 albums weren't selling initially and the sales combined were between 5 and 6. They eventually sold between 10 and 12 combined in 2021), there were numerous male artists and male groups who sold a lot more, such as Nelly, 50 Cent, Usher, R. Kelly, and Linkin Park to name a few.
I was in my late teens and early 20s during that era, so I know what I'm talking about because I remember it vividly.
its a comeback alright, because its new music & more importantly it songs top the HOT100 charts. make her relevant & trendy again as younger artist like Britney, Beyonce.
The greatest comeback by a female artist after Private Dancer by Tina Turner. Mariah Carey went through it from 2001-2004. So many thought her career was over to the point of no return. I remember listening to the lead single ''It's Like That'' on the radio. I thought it was a very good song, but it isn't among her best and I had to buy TEOM to see if she was truly gonna end her 4 year decline. After I finished listening to it, I knew she would return to her chart-topping, award-winning days... and she did.
My favorite songs from the album are We Belong Together, Say Something, Fly Like A Bird, and Don't Forget About Us. She had so many breathtaking live performances during this era, such as the 2005 BET Bluebrint Special, the 2006 Grammy Awards, and of course her 6th concert tour, The Adventures Of Mimi. There is only one Mariah Carey.
#AllHailTheSongbirdSupreme
I love finding other black minds on this channel, yes!
What about Cher’s comeback ?
@@simonyanga9551 I think I will put Cher's Believe era comeback in 4th place below Tina's PD era, Mariah's TEOM era, and Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor era comeback because Madonna's Confessions Tour made a lot more money than Cher's The Believe Tour, COADF received more accolades, and its singles were more successful internationally. Though I will say Cher layed the foundation for Madonna. Without Believe, there would be no Confessions On A Dance Floor. Plus, Cher managed to get a number 1 hit song in the U.S at 52. Madonna's biggest hit song during COADF was Hung Up, which peaked at number 7.
Ray of Light was a better comeback imo. It's considered her best album & one of the best albums ever by many. She received so much backlash from her sexual image before that & Bedtime Stories was kinda slept on. People were saying her career was over & she ended up changing the musical landscape by introducing something so new & different. Her vocals are also at their best. I know American Life was one of her biggest flops, but it's actually one of my personal favourites, so I LOVED it & still do. It's so underrated imo. A true work of art with an interesting concept.
@@solongsuicide9 I don't count Ray Of Light as a comeback album because despite the backlash Madonna got from Erotica, she still achieved much success. Erotica sold 6 million albums worldwide, 3 of its singles were hits in the U.S with another 2 successful internationally, and its associated concert tour (The Girlie Show World Tour) grossed more money than its predecessor, The Blond Ambition World Tour.
Bedtime Stories is far from slept on. If anything, it outsold Erotica worldwide by 2 million and is certified triple platinum by the RIAA. It even includes her biggest ever hit in America, Take A Bow. I don't know why people say Bedtime Stories wasn't successful besides that she chose not to tour to promote the album and is the ONLY studio album in her discography without a concert tour attached to it.
On top of those 2 albums, You Must Love Me and Don't Cry For Me Argentina from Evita were hits as well domestically and overseas. Madonna always had success throughout the 90s. Her star power didn't start to dim until 2003 with American Life.
She’s legendary, this whole album was a masterpiece. Charmbracelet outsold some albums from artist considered in there “peak” but in Mariah standards I guess it was Low
Emc=2 better
@@behappybemad2828 you mean mc=e²?
@@behappybemad2828 E=mc² is like Mariah's TEOM 2.0
E-Emancipation

2- 2.0 version
She received her biggest sucess awhile jlo and Tommy Motola trying to Sabotage her career
It wasn’t jlo it was her husband jlo didn’t know anything
Who’s JLo I don’t know her
JLo was the scapegoat and was young and dumb to know what was happening to Mariah at that time
The only reason that 'Shake It Off' didn't hit the #1 spot is because her colossal comeback mega-hit lead-single 'We Belong Together' was still in the #1 spot (for 14 weeks altogether).
I know I just wish for that one week shake it off could have been no 1
Omg I am stupid. It thought Shake it off u were talking about the Taylor Swift song 🤣 I am STUPID
@TheEarthRealm It's Like that is the lead single and we belong together is the second single
She faught hard for her freedom, she deserve all her success
She came back swinging in 2005. Absolutely one of the best comebacks in history along Madonna and Britney.
PD!!! The funny thing about this era and that album was that's how I was introduced to her. I literally thought "Shake it Off" was her first song ever and TEOM was her first album ever. She came through so fresh like a new artist. Once I found out she had plenty of album before, I went down a rabbit hole and by the end of it I was a lamb.❤
"All hail and bow to Mariah Carey, The Queen of Divas, Protector of the vocal skills from the realm, Archiduchess of Vocal range/registers, Empress of agility, The unmatched, The Mellisma mother, The Goddess of Songwriting and producing, The one often imitated, but never duplicated, The embodiment of pure success, The legs of a celestial",. My simpleton ears are not worthy of your talent but a simple sung phrase will be enough to heal me for all eternity.
You're so poetic ❤️❤️❤️
preach boy preachh
Not one of the biggest comeback but the biggest comeback
Mariah is a one of a kind artist. Singer, songwriter and producer. Her vocal capability is basically unmatched even to this day, she is considered the most influential artist for the new millennium music, people don't even comprehend or realize how much their music is based off Mariah's accomplishments. She is a diva, yes she is one hell of a Diva, a real beautiful female vocalist that can stand in a stage by herself and feel an entire arena with her amazing voice, her relatable lyrics and mastery in production. A true icon and she will remain that long after she is gone. Up until this point nobody has been able to mimic her musical prowess, sure there are copy cats and influenced artists but when it come to the juice of it Mariah is far superior, more in depth with her own persona. A real celebrity to the celebrities
🙌 Well put
I hope katy could have a comeback like this. She will 🤞🏽
Ya I herd some predictions that Katy will have high charting songs again with her next album also she might have another Baby
She just needs to let go of the whole bubblegum pop sound this isn't the early 2010's anymore
me tooo
The problem with Katy is that it seems she’s never had any real perspective as an artist. While a lot of her older fans grew out of her sound. And Smile did so poorly commercially. There’s still a chance though. So many female pop performers have had “comebacks” (though very few on the level of TEOM). And it only takes one big song to shift the narrative.
She will. Gaga's ASIB. Her Joanne album is the turning point of her career.
Often imitated, never duplicated.
of course you post this as soon as i turned on "We Belong Together"
manifesting a comeback like this for katy
Yes ♥️
So true. We all need this🥺🥺
Yes, omg.
😭
Good for a throwback...
I’ve always thought it was so weird that critics hated on charmbracelets vocals since vocally it’s one of Mariahs strongest (second prime)
IKR!! I would say her vocals in her upper belting on charmbracelet was the most technically sound in her entire career... It was a headier mix and still sounded really strong. Her voice on Charmbracelet did not deserve that hate.
She gave it her all after Charmbracelet, The
Emancipation of Mimi as an album was filled with everything she was as an artist. Sure, the albums before then were also her (especially Butterfly), but she definitely still felt that she still had to prove herself after all those years getting panned and criticised. Find me another mainstream album so full of high notes in 20 tracks (ultra platinum edition) and let me know if anyone else has successfully replicated what she did with Emancipation of Mimi!
She was doing live promos and also touring singing all those difficult songs, and gave her all. I still love Mimi and I'm happy that she managed a comeback 15 years later into her career and so far no one else had managed to even come close to her (Confessions of a Dancefloor almost came as close).
Unfortunately, her voice was never quite the same after the album. She was clearly overworked and her voice was incredibly fatigued and started showing signs of damage. I'm just happy these days she releases music for enjoyment and she is still able to show her musicianship even with songs not as insanely high as her prime. I enjoy her music and her legacy will never be diminished or replicated.
One of the biggest comebacks ever, next to Madonna's Confessions (also released in 2005), Britney's Circus and Gaga's A Star Is Born!
Yesss!
I might say, just tie with COADF. Circus and Star Is Born are not in the same magnitude as TEOM and COADF
circus was a comeback?
Such an iconic era.
Throwback to that famous image of the Twin Towers burning on 9/11 with a billboard for “Glitter” pretty prominently in front of it. That couldn’t have helped the movie or record whatsoever, lol.
This is a truly amazing album. The biggest musical comeback in music history. So glad you made a video on it!
if someone in the industry has the right to be a diva, that's Mariah

omg yesss
Omg THANK YOU for this vídeo! I'm a huge LAMB since 1990...MARIAH means the WORLD to me, the soundtrack of my LIFE, my favorite, i don't even have enough words to describe how much i Love her and i'm happy that you made this vídeo! You are definitely my favorite Channel!
I agree MARIAH is a LEGEND, this was the greatest comeback of all TIME! Nobody will ever be like her!
I LOVE the TEOM ERA, to me was her best, she was on fire, everything was just perfect, the songs, the vídeos, the style...she's amazing!
Mariah is so talented that even her failures are better than most people's careers! I lived all the eras, good and bad times, i'm always with her! LAMB for LIFE!❤️
P.s what they did with MARIAH was so unfair, media and Tommy Mottola almost destroyed her life, but MARIAH is more stronger and talented than all of them!
That part
Caution is a great album.
Glitter really broke her down yet it made her stronger. you just can't stop Mariah from shining, just like glitters.
The way she made a huge comeback and with a 10th album ! & couple albums flopping whewwwwww we don’t see that anymore ! A artist who could do this would be katy perry as we saw what she could do with NRO but to bad she doesn’t care anymore
It doesn’t matter cuz the lambs ended up getting glitter to number one In 2018
THE greatest comeback of all time 👑
Moddo-la. Lmao 🤣 😂 it’s what he deserves. The best mispronunciation in history.
I wasn't even trying to mis-pronounce it 😭 I literally stared at his name for 10 minutes and just thought "oh well, I'm on trend with butchering names at this point".
@@popdissected4400 It sounds so pretentious “MOE-TOE-LAH”. Like, nah. This is the best. Almost on par with “I don’t know her”.
First of all: Joyride🥺🥺🥺🥺 I was like HONEY this is it lmao. I'm a millennial so the Emancipation of MiMi brings back duets in the car with my mom 😂 and Mariah put the lyrics in the CD cover so I learned Twista's part and thought I was sooo cool haha 😎
I read her book a couple of months ago and she is an incredibly strong woman. God bless her ❤️🥺
I’ve been listening to this album on repeat recently
And yes she made another comeback in 2019. Shes such a queen.
Mariah Carey is a diva and rightfully so, have you heard her voice, If you have talent like her you have a right to be a diva. Plus she's been in the music industry for so long that she deserves to be a diva
Right! And she's not even an extreme nasty mean diva like people like say. She doesn't come for anyone that doesn't come for her and she has never called anyone out their name. It's either "I don't know her/him", change the subject when asked about someone or gives a calm/sleek answer.
This is my favorite MC album. It's not quite as strong as Butterfly, but it's more fun and, IMO, easily bests all her other efforts. Also I love the albums fire VOCALS. Her approach to the vocals on that album are just so strong and hard hitting. Truly a tour de force.
You may want to verify, but I think she actually won 3 Grammys for 'The Emancipation of Mimi':
1. Best Contemporary R&B Album
2. Best R&B Vocal Performance (for We Belong Together), and
3. Best R&B Song (for We Belong Together)
Excellent video, btw!! Loved it!
Umm. You forgot to mention “Its like that” which was the first single from the project and all over the radio.
1:23 - I LOVE the shade against Tommy Motolla! 😆😆😆
Oh I just don't know how to pronounce his name 😆
not you posting this as i’m reading her memoir ...
Don’t ever count the diva supreme out. Biggest musical comeback since Elvis in the late 60s
Don't forget about Madonna with Hung Up!
Cher with Believe
There are lots of legends who had comeback in 2005!
What a wonderful album.
Talk about how Memoirs of an imperfect angel wasn’t a bad album

"Fly Like a Bird" is my absolute favorite song!
The way Mariah proved everyone wrong that she was over by releasing this album.
Funny how despite Glitter having global sales of 2 million and is a RIAA Platinum Certified Album, it was still considered to be Mariah's flop era. Her flop era is still comparably better than most singers.
Mariah is Mariah and she is THE SONGBIRD SUPREME!
Thank you so much for this video!!! I really appreciate you for your time and effort to take time and do videos for your fans!!!
Very few are able to be on top, and decline a bit, only to come back on top again. Mariah Carey, Beyonce , Rihanna, we just love to see it.
As Mariah would remind people, Glitter was a soundtrack .. not an album ✨😂
😂
Her best work of art and my fave album!! ICONIC!! 🎉✨✨
I personally never saw TEOM as a comeback, for me she never left.
Yesss! She did her thang with that album! I can barely play an albums from cover to cover and this was one of those albums. 😊😊😊
Although not a commercial mega album, I really enjoy “Charmbracelet”. It was a mellow album with soothing vocals, nurturing and subtly sly lyrics. I like it even more than when released.
A comeback of epic proportions, the likes of which in terms of success, influence and continued relevance is yet to be seen again since then.
Can you make a video on Nelly Furtado's Loose era
YES PLS
Yes omg
You can truly see that she's a brave woman. Battling against music industry at that time is like holding a knife to your neck. They can literally kill you anytime if you're a threat to them
YES! Thank you for the content, don’t stop!
one of the greatest albums of the 00's.
Indeed!
The Biggest comeback. Even she said dont say comeback cuz i've been here for years amd that true.
Imma so glad she came through all of these obstacles and Lord knows she went through so many and she came back on top ! I love how resilient and committed to her art she is ! She´s inspirational and have so much talent is ridiculous ! I just love her !!!!
I thought this was great and I really enjoyed the commentary please continue to have more great videos thanks guys take care and God bless⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you so much! 💕

YESS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE YASSSS
Indeed no one can deny her the ICON, THE LEGENDARY MARIAH THE FREAKIN CAREY'
i literally remember being in 5th grade when she had this comeback. i was such a huge fan and always downloaded her songs on limewire 😂
Lol how he said tommy mattolas name im dying 🤣
I know omg 😭 ....
mariah carey is so amazing
I remember my grandma was so excited when mariah made her comeback. She told me about how each song reminded her of different guys she hooked up with
I looked at her entirely differently after reading the memoir. She truly changed the game for female artists, stuff we see happen all the time nowadays, such as rap collabs, were just not the thing back then. Icon, legend, lamb 4 life
9:16 she won 3 Grammy’s for TEOM, not 2 like you said
Dahhhling why do you keep misreading things? hahaha
I just don't know 😭 We gotta get my eyes fixed
Mariah Carey's career was really proven that She's got staying power with Emancipation of Mimi.
At the time, She was still considered a newer artist. I remembered that Daydream was so huge. Her music videos and look were everywhere. I thought that was Mariah Carey's best album in my opinion. Loved the Boys II Mean song from that album.
I remember that all of the teens from my neighborhood had a watch party when Mariah Carey's Honey video was released. It was fire and it was played so much on MTV and VH1. So was My All. I thought Mariah Carey's really proven herself with this album.
In 1999, there was so much Fanfare with her Rainbow's album. Heartbreaker was a huge video an hit. But it didn't seem to have the same impact for me that her earlier work had. I remember that we all talked about her Heartbreaker song with Jay-Z, but it had sort of a so-so release imho. Buying the actual album was a treat. I found Rainbow had a lot of hidden tracks that made it one of the best hip-hop / RnB albums of the 90s. She had some ballad music videos, but they didn't seem to get much fanfare.
Her Glitter Era was so bizarre. I remember watching TRL and Every one was chatting in the AOL/AIM chat rooms on how weird that appearance was. She acted strange during that time. I didn't think it would have an impact, negatively, as it did on her career. I remember buying the album, Loverboy was a decent Hip-Hop track, but it seemed like it came and went. A lot of TV channels played Never Too Far Away, but it seemed like an odd choice for Mariah Carey to prove this as second single and video. I thought the whole Glitter movie to be lackluster. I remember a lot folks were disappointed in the movie theatre at that time. I remember thinking, what the hell is this? Sorry for my language. I was disappointed.
About a year or two later, she released "Through the Rain". But Again, it was an odd choice for her to release during that time period compared to what Janet Jackson and Mary J Blige were releasing at that time. They had more up-tempo stuff. They promoted the Hell out of "Through the Rain", but a lot of friends and classmates found it to be an odd choice. So, I'm not surprised that it flopped. My barber shop would crack jokes on how corny it was haha.
A few years later, I purchased Cham bracelet, and I was shocked out how strong of an RnB album that it was. It was very good! I thought the way her team handled that release was really bizarre.
A lot of people, myself included, thought her best days were over for her. I remember that a lot of the big female icons all had down periods in the early 2000s. I think it was a shift to my of a hip-hop rock sound with pop music at that time.
Emancipation of Mimi took everyone completely by surprise. I thought it was one her strongest looks, and it proved to me just how good she was. I remember watching her live performances', and thinking that she is really starting to hit her stride again. A lot of my friends and coworkers thought the same thing.
That a huge year for her. I remember that they released Touch my Body, and she had a cool sexy new look. I honestly thought Touch My Body and E=MC2 was her best record up until that. I remember Madonna and others talking about how fresh that album was. Her marriage with Nick Cannon really catapulted her into super star status.. Too me, she's never had a bad album release since then. She also started acting in more movies and TV shows like American idol. It proved to me that she has a lot of staying power.
Don't kid yourself, Mariah's short outfits were really proactive at that time sort of like Madonna's look. She also took risks. But it seems like the media more quickly forgave Mariah over the years, and I stopped less criticism for it.
Great review! Love the channel, it brings back so many memories.
That was the best comeback, bounce back , whatever you wanna call it of the 2000’s. Mariah, JD, Bryan Michael Cox, Manuel, Kanye and Young Genius really did the damn thing with producing that album. That album is timeless. All of her albums are but the Emancipation of Mimi introduced the younger fans to who Mariah Carey is. She ruled the 90’s and 2000’s for sure and still kept her status all throughout 2010’s and now 2020’s. That’s not easy to do at all. People want her to fail and not succeed but she proves them wrong every single time. 🤷🏽♀️
Yes 🙌 I think you bring up a good point about the album introducing her essentially to a new generation!
Yeah!! Thanks for this video ❤️❤️
PLEASE DO A REACTION ON THE IMPACT OF BRANDY
This video felt more like how Mariah re-built herself up after several let downs and less like a video dedicated to how The Emancipation of Mimi rejuvenated Mariah's career! I was expecting a more in-depth look at the Emancipation of Mimi era as a whole similar to your Katy Perry Prism and Teenage Dream videos.
If you take suggestions, you should do a vid on miley, Selana and basically any pop star, And more katy vids are always wanted #katycat
Lol a lot of these pop girlies could not even reach half the sales of Glitter and Charmbracelet
Longevity; Mariah giving us production value darrrling!!! Love her, she's my soul family.
she never left.. darling
This is a great video to show how well Mariah Carey made a huge comeback she is great. Also I have a suggestion for you in case you need ideas maybe How Cher made a comeback with the believe album ? Just a thought.
Also, that's not her highest grossing tour. That was some dates, Charmbracelet was her Highest Grossing tour.
I love her! Loved her new book and she is such a legend.
I love the way you pronounced "Tommy Modela" 😂
Do Madonna Confessions on a Dancefloor. The lead single Hung up and the album went to #1 in more countries than any album or song in history.
she is a UNSTOPPABLE QUEEN. purrr!!!
I love you pop disected boy
THANK YOU! Love the video
It always amazes me how the careers of long time music veterans differ from each other. It’s amazing how Mariah’s success has mainly come through people going back to her earlier works. Her most recent hit I’d say was #Beautiful in 2013. Almost Home, You’re Mine (Eternal), I Don’t, GTFO, With You, No, etc. were all kinda flops when you look at chart performance. But, thanks to TikTok, Obsessed (single) and Glitter (album) have gained a resurgence in popularity. I honestly didn’t think I’d see her seeing any more traction. I was only about 8 at the time. So, idk how the general publics feelings were towards her. But, I can only imagine that a lot of people back then also thought she wouldn’t experience success again. She really must’ve turned the tables on ‘em! And I can’t wait to see what her next project(s) encompass. Looks like a lot of people are really supporting her as seen by AIWFCIY finally hitting #1 on the BBH100 and her collaboration with Ari and Jennifer Hudson last year. I think the GP’s embracing her again! Just... don’t put out uninspired music geared towards becoming a TikTok trend like some other artists have this year...
She was a legend before this album and she was an even BIGGER LEGEND afterwards! Never count Mimi out
I heard that mariah said herself. The ending note of want is actually a last minute addition, iconic quEEn dAhLing💖💖💖
Being a woman in a man's world; it takes alot for a lady to stand with grace, when they are so used to having you on your knees. I admire every woman who has made it big, despite being damn good at what they do/did they often had to pay the bitter price for fame to enjoy the sweetness of their success.
