This the best way I found to clean creosotes off a brick fireplace. After trying several different methods this process worked best to clean brick fireplaces...

Scrubbing Bubbles and a shop vac. Much easier to clean the shop vac when you are finished than cleaning the area around the fireplace. Learned that helping my parents clean up after a house fire. Scrubbing Bubbles cuts right through creosote and soot. It also cleans a coffee pot faster than anything else I've ever used. My wife is always grabbing my can to use in the bathroom, some nerve. . .
OMG!!! This really works. I purchased a can. sprayed it on and watched the soot begging to slide down the wall after contact. I waited 3 mins and began scrubbing. My area of wall was clean with mins. I'm glad I found this before investing so much time and energy using chemicals and messy cleanup. Thank you for sharing this. You saved me time and energy.
there are few type of scrubing bubles , which one do you mean

@@siamakaghazeinali Until recently, I've only used the original and the lemon scented. About a month or so ago, I bought some in the pump type bottle. It seems to do well, also. I haven't used it on anything more than the bathroom yet. OH yeah, It also cleans coffee pot stains well, too.
i really do like the long handled brush.
The mantel changed and now there’s a TV hanging above the fireplace. Just how much later did you come back?
😂😂😂😂😂
Nice approach- what mix of CLR to water? Dilution ratio?
I could barely understand the mumbling and still have no idea how to remove hardened creosote around my fireplace frame.
Where do you buy the cleaner that Also Paints your Mantle for you?
How long it took to dry? It seemed you add tv and do some improvements between:)
I was wondering the same. He said see you in a moment, but when he came back the shelf was a different color and things were moved around......
It's good that I already know how to clean dirty underwear, because that bird literally scared the shit out of me.
I felt this video was very helpful, thank you! It would be nice if some of you A-holes could show some respect and class. This nice gentleman is trying to help and all you can do is hate? Pretty sad. If it wasn't helpful to you move on or figure it out for yourself!
Kristin Coburn the word “hate” is mispkaced and out of context here. Do you understand the meaning ? Please cleanup your language and/ or do an English course.
I used the comet and barkeepers friend and it worked for me!
Cockatiel approved! 😊
Hahaha!!!! Watch this video carefully,,,, the shelves is white,,, but after he clean the brick,, the shelves become black..hahaha!!!! Good job!!!!
and a big screen as well :)
What did you say those 2 cleaning products were again?...I think your mustache was in your mouth while talking 😆 🤣 😂
I mixed dish soap and comet and work fine
What are all the chemicals that you used? I cant hear you very well.
+Molly M
Borax, CLR and comet....brushed it on almost like a paste.
can you please clarify the exact mixture you used.... and what is in the pail, is that just water?
30 minutes? The video started with a white mantel. End of the video the mantle was black!
Good point
Video viewers: If you think you are hearing birds in your house, it's on the video. I pause it twice to see if birds had come in from my attic due to missing ceiling tiles, during our kitchen remodel! Freaked me out!
omg love this.
What about muriatic acid?
+suthengent
Yea you can definitely use muratic. Just wanted to try something less caustic due to the new hardwood floors.
Step one. Find out what muriatic acid is. It is the old name for hydrochloric acid. Be careful!
Actually there is a video on you tube here that says don't use muriatic acid.
Can't believe you made this video about how to remove soot and didn't show the product you used... CLR (bit help that was) ... and a mixture (what mixture!) please explain or show this barber's product. frustrating video.
0:52 you have ghosts in your house
Nuts.
You took off the brick color

That was a longggg moment. At 2:24 the shelf over the fireplace turned white!
You mean turned 'black' lol.
what the heck is CLR? I have no idea what he used!

That can't be good for the bird to breath.
cool
Good job...
Is that you in the photo, younger days..
😟 Ummm has anybody tried good old fashioned dish soap/salt? I just want to say that I am NOT judging at all. I mean this with all sincerity. I'm from Arizona and we pull out our winter jackets when the temperature reaches 70 degrees. We do not have such things as fireplaces. BUT! I would consider our summers as close to fire and brimstone as you can get. I'm being honest here, partly because I'm trying to earn my way out of this hell, but salt is an abrasive and I think that nasty soot is from ashes which we old folk used to make soap from.... just saying it might just be a lot easier.
creoSOTE
Ha! I thought at first it was his southern accent, but no - he was saying creoSOLE! :)
Buy a microphone

sad...waste of time!
what a waste of time
what ? you watching or him doing it ....
Nice try, but tell the film maker to stop chewing and also might have been a good idea to put your bird outside, holy moly, that bird was loud. Also, coming from another country, I have no idea what ingredients you were using. A description of the actual chemical may have been a little more helpful instead of the Brand name. The mantle changing colour was the biggest surprise. ;-)
