    Hey guys, welcome back to another video. My apologies, this video was supposed to be posted last Sunday, but issues with broadband, uploading in 4k, music copyright issues, and just being snowed under with work, put an end to that 😞.
    So as I explain in the video, this customer contacted me after seeing one of my videos on RUclips. She was concerned as she new that there was lots of cracked, missing and damaged tiles, caused by the huge amounts of moss, and damage from branches that had fallen on her roof over the years. So wanted to get all damaged and missing tiles replaced by her roofer/builder, but, he was unable to see the full extent of what was going on, and where the leak may be coming from due to a large percentage of the roof being smothered in moss, and even ferns.
    She specifically requested low pressure, pressure washing, even though she was aware there was water ingress issues coming from somewhere on the roof. The customer was fully aware that washing the roof would mean water getting through where it was leaking, but was completely fine with that, as she had a roofer/builder coming in as soon as I had finished, to repair any spalled, cracked or missing tiles.
    This is one of the longest videos i've ever edited, and took what felt like an eternity to edit, but it all was worth it in the end 🙂, I hope you enjoy this epic transformation, all the best to you all, Nick.

    Hi everyone 🙂. Something keeps coming up, that I think I should probably have made clearer in the video. The "noooooo" slowed down part in the video is my camera falling, not me. I accidentally knocked into it with my chemical pole, and it went tumbling to the floor, and thankfully had a soft landing in some leaves. But a HUGE thank you to the people that thought it was me, and expressed their concern, and hoped that I was okay, it's extremely kind of you. Many thanks again & all the best, Nick.

    In all the years I have been watching pressure washing videos, and that includes you, Nick...Ben, Spencer (SB), and Sid, I have never seen such a disaster of a roof needing cleaning. That was a monstrous job!!! The roof was interesting...on one side you have interspersed with scalloped tiles, and on the other side, you have your basic straight tiles. The home itself is stately but in dire need of TLC. There were a couple of times there when I thought a tile was coming down. You nailed this job. There are not enough words to describe what a fantastic job you did. Oh....get gloves, Nick. When I saw you doing the cleanup in the front with no gloves, the mother in me was going...NO!!! Well done, and thank you for sharing this with us. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Hey, Nick! I bet once you got started with filming for us and really looking at that roof again, you were beginning to wonder what you'd let yourself in for! 😂😂 That was a HUGE job and a super difficult one, too, but you took it on and showed it who was in charge! The fern tried to stage a coup, but you put down the resistance immediately, taking no prisoners!
    Such a beautiful house with a pretty pattern in the roof tiles. But it's the chimneys that won my heart. The central one was massive and majestic, but the small one with the great chimney pot like a mushroom was fantastic! Such a lovely property. I understand the temptation to keep it on the wild side, but they really do need to call in a landscape designer and see about a plan to get that tamed before it ruins their home.
    You did a wonderful job without disturbing the robin. You're so kind - I'm a huge lover of birds and animals, but if my house is at stake, I'm not worrying about a bird being disturbed. Nest knocked down, yes. But not getting close to it? Nope. 🙄 Just my opinion and I suspect I'll hear about it! 😂
    I'm so glad you chose to bring us along on this one! Have a lovely week, Nick!

      @PrestigeExternalCleaning  11 месяцев назад +6

      Hey Lucinda, I hope you're well. Lol, the more you watch my videos, you're getting to know me more and more, which is lovely. Yes you're spot on, I hadn't seen the roof before that first day of filming, as I quoted from google earth and street view, so when I got there, even though I was warned it was bad, I definitely did think what have I got myself into 🤣.
      I loved the chimneys too, the big one in the middle was my favourite, looked quite medieval and very imposing, i'd never seen anything like it on a domestic property before. Was very delicate looking, and the brickwork looked like it needed some attention, so didn't dare put my cleaning nozzle anywhere near it 🙂.
      Many thanks as always for your great feedback and comment ❤️

    Wow Nick that was a heck of a big job and dirty job for one person to take on 😮
    What a beautiful roof underneath all that moss 🤩
    I bet you were aching for days afterwards 😢
    Mistakes happen so I am sure they were understanding and no offence to them (if reading this) the window must have problems already.
    Absolutely gorgeous property though kinda envious 😂
    Only problem I had (not your problem) is I am just a tad scared of heights in particular sharp drops so may have got a ickle bit dizzy and double visioned at those points 😂😂😂
    Your poor camera 😅

    • @PrestigeExternalCleaning
      @PrestigeExternalCleaning  11 месяцев назад +2

      Hey Polgara, yeah this was a big one, i certainly slept well at the weekend 😴 😆. I'm sure they wouldn't mind you commenting about the window, they were lovely people, and readily admitted that the window had issues, and that when it rains heavily, water can sometimes come through.
      They did admit to me that the husband used to do a lot of the exterior maintenance, but due to issues with his back, things had got a bit neglected, and had become a bit overwhelmed with such a large property. I can sympathise with back issues, as I suffer with that myself sometimes.
      Sorry for making you dizzy 🥴🙂
      Thanks for the awesome comment as usual 😊, take care, and have a great week ❤️

    Wonderful job, Nick! Thank you for sharing - what a beautiful roof, I love the gingerbread (?) tiles. What a challenge, haven’t seen one that bad on any channel. You get the prize! What determines use of steam or water? I like that steaming doesn't seem to use as much much water; does it make cleanup easier? ...So when do you get to do the walls? 😅 P.S. I'd love to watch whomever gets to do the garden cleanup!! Really, tremendous job. I love your videos, thanks for bringing us along. ❤❤ You're the best!

    Nick you did an amazing job and that roof looks a million times better.
    Question: How long does the biocide prevent moss from coming back? I wonder because of all the vegetation around this house.

    Interesting how the house roofing tile was laid out with several straight courses and then several rows of fish scale roofing tiles. Beautiful!
    PS -- Not sure how home insurance works in England, but does having all that moss / fern on roof affect ability to get home insurance?

    Wow, what an odd job. I wasn't sure with all these edges everywhere if you was able to reach everywhere, especially that overlapping part on the side was weird. Nevertheless a really good job and you really couldn't ask for more.
    Where you started, there was also two roofs meeting on an edge. It seems that where those roofs meet there was some plant growing downwards from below the upper one. Or was that something else?
    I hope you're fine. You looked really tired on the first 2 days :/

    I live in a dry part of the US, and seeing green moss covered roofs gives those buildings a kind of rustic character, but seeing them clean really brings out their beauty as intended.

    What an amazing transformation, great work! I was wondering how you were handling that pressure washer wand, I thought you might have it in a pivoting support with a counterweight of some kind. That is a hell of an upper body workout man. Excellent attention to detail and knowledge, you have a new Subscriber in me for sure. Also, what a beautiful home those folks have.

    • @chrisgraham2904
      @chrisgraham2904 4 месяца назад

      That was my first thought. The wand filled with water has to weigh at least 10 pounds, although I assume the water jet lifts the weight at the business end, but would still require great upper body strength to sustain that for 8 hours per day. A great job on a roof that was definitely worth restoring.

    It’s a shame they’ve allowed such a beautiful cottage to be lost under so much vegetation over the years. It would be lovely to see the site cleared and laid to neat lawns. The sun would do the rest..

  • @philtucker1224
