    A little bit of „vintage aging process“ after a few days, phenomenal 😂

    Amazon. They sell tools. They deliver to your door. They also sell butter knives, if that is really the way you wish to go.

    orthen this video was great, thanks for sharing! I ended up building a lot of confidence a few months ago from watching this and ended up making a build myself from the same kit, sorry if this was said in the video but I couldn't understand since english isn't my first language: what were you using for the coloring exactly? Was that just a mahogany-type paint or was it a varnish or something else maybe? I want to make another build sometime soon, a bass this time and I wanted to have a similar color/finish to what you have on this tele so if you could point me to a product that you think is worthwhile I would appreciate it! Take care ;)

    That's why you should always pre assemble diy kits, so you can fix mis drilled holes!!

    I'm going to order one at the beginning of next year...

    Could you let us know what kind of products you used to stain and seal the wood? Looks good!

    • @orthen
      @orthen  3 года назад

      Yeah, the wood stain is just your average wood stain, meant for fences, and the seal was a brush on polyurethane, which I believe is used for sealing wooden floors! So stuff you can pick up in most hardware stores!

    Hey man, good job! it's very cool!
    May I ask you how did you use the different mahogany colors and in what order?

    • @orthen
      @orthen  3 года назад

      Thanks, I mostly ended up using the darker mahogany, as I couldn't work out how to do a sunburst type effect, so I largely just based it off of how much darker I wanted the colour to be! There was a lot of trial and error, but it was quite easy to sand the colour back down if I didn't like the outcome!

    Thanks so much for this. Currently trying to decide whether to buy one of these kits. A lot of these videos seem to be by people who seem to have a lot of experience and have a bunch of specialist tools. I wanted to see if a regular person/non-luthier could do it (hope this doesn't offend). I laughed out loud at your head-stock adventures as I know that would be me! Much more like what the real experience would be like but looks like you found it worthwhile. Hope you're still enjoying it and thanks again

    • @orthen
      @orthen  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I definitely don't fit the skilled craftsman type, I think it's a good way to learn some more, without having to work on a more expensive guitar! I'd say if you're on the fence go for it
