    While I am waiting for my kit to arrive, this is one of the best videos I found till now for this Benton kit :) Looking forward to replicate what you did, just different color!

    Beautiful job. I really like the hand rubbed finish. The Harley Benton guitar looks like a lot better quality than some of the kits I have built. Great videos.

    Lot easier than oil paint technique I used. Dries hell of a lot quicker and looks great. I think I will.also use stain next time.

    Hello from italy. I love the color ending result. i am very poor in wood painting knowledge. Can you please tell me the process to obtain those beautiful oils (and maybe some guidelines for using them )? your built is the coolest one in the internet and i wish to repiclate it.

      Stefans Guitars you're welcome! It sure would save a lot of work if they wouldn't put the sealer on the bodies, and just send you bare wood! The companies should make that an option...sealer or no sealer. If you want to stain, order no sealer. If you want to paint, order sealer and it's almost ready to paint! All the work you did was definitely worth it!😀

    Hi, I have some problems understanding of the seal is still there or not after some sanding. Do you have any advice?

    Great work Stefan, it looks really well. Even better if it's your first. What did you use to rub in the stain and the Oil?

      +Tom Corr thank you very much!
      I used a thin cloth that is also good for washing the dishes :)

    Hast du die Fräsung für den HalsPU selbst gemacht? Finde bei Thomann nur ein Kit mit SC Fräsung...
    Dein Ergebnis sieht Bombe aus!!!!

      Ne, das war so. Hab das Kit wie es ist bei Thomann bekommen!
      Danke, mein Bruder hat sich auch gefreut 😁

    I am starting my first kit, also a Harley Benton. How did you know when you had removed all of the clear sealer from the body and it was ready to stain?

    • @StefansGuitars
      @StefansGuitars  3 года назад

      Just by look and feel of the surface. I also missed some spots in the beginning, you'll get it 👍🏻

    Ne Idee wie man das finish mit hochglanz lack on top erreichen kann?

    • @StefansGuitars
      @StefansGuitars  4 года назад

      Klarlack drauf, sollte dann aber nicht wasserbasiert sein, weil sonst die farbe verläuft 👍🏻

    • @Superstocker669

      @@StefansGuitarsDanke für die Antwort. Haftet denn der z.b 2K Klarlack auf diesen Mitteln?

    What paint did you use acrilic paint that you use for a painting or.....?

    • @StefansGuitars
      @StefansGuitars  6 лет назад +1

      +lorenzo wijker I used a waterbased stain and sealed it with wood oil! :)

    Hi, is that hour of sanding is really as needed?

    • @StefansGuitars
      @StefansGuitars  5 лет назад +1

      Without that sanding the stain won't soak into the wood. If you want to go for a normal paintjob, a quick sanding should do it

  • @simonspies4821

      +Simon Spies auf der Gitarre ist eine dünne lackschicht, darauf würde die Farbe nicht halten ;)

    Horrible to see, that guitar body NEVER fixed to the table with a few clamps. It seems to be witnessing something extremely precarious.
