I use a Nikon D1500 with assorted prime lenses and I keep running into the issue of crane knocking out of balance during a shoot. From my research it supposed to take a camera with lenses up to 5 pounds. Most of my set ups are around 4 1/2 pounds or less it is very frustrating spending money on a product that can’t seem to handle an average camera
    /lens set up.

Well presented Australian camera content? Sign me the fuck up! Seriously considering getting one of these. Never really done any "real" videography before, mainly a stills guy - but there's just something about buttery smooth footage

I have a Canon 80D with a Sigma 17-50 f2.8 lens. i also have a Vello battery grip under the camera for extra battery life. I wonder if my Crane Plus can hold the weight of these objects. Or will I have to remove the battery grip?

Hi there. Great review. I have an issue with the crane plus which I had to return the gimbal for an exchange however still the same problem. The problem is everytime I use the motion timelapse, the gimbal jittered and just went off balance. Everything was set up properly but both gimbal have the same problem. The only consistent thing on my set up was my android phone. On this video you are using an android phone. Have you ever encountered the same issue as me? I am stumped now with this as both gimbals are doing the same thing.

From a practicality perspective, is it ok to bring this a family vacation in Tokyo, with lots of walking in the city? I’m mainly a photographer but would also like to make some good videos. I’m having a hard time deciding what to take with me. 1) smartphone+gimbal for video, camera for photos; 2) camera + gimbal for video, same camera for photos; 3) gropro+gimbal for video, camera for photos. Any advice guys?

Great review - Thanks! I am on the fence, wondering if the extra 150USD is a better choice to get a Crane 2 (new version) rather than the Crane Plus here. Do I go up a little from my current Crane M because I now have a little too much weight for it (Oly M5ii + Oly 7-14mm lens = about 1300 grams I think) , or a lot....hmmmm. Maybe I better go to Crane 2 and be done with it. You have a great channel!

Great review. You talked about the motion tracking feature, did you have the chance to actually try it, and was it reliable? Thanks!

    Your shots looked super dope!
I have the v2 and been thinking about upgrading to the plus.. but is there really any difference besides the weight capacity and the 2 new modes?
I mean is it smoother because of stronger motors and has less jerky moves etc?

Nice review :) Can you operate it with an articulating screen swung open to the side? If you can that solves the motor obstructing the screen issue :S

Hello, very nice video and it is useful. I had hard time balancing the Sony a6500 with Sony 50mm 1.8 lens. If I rais the camera about 1/4" it was kind of okay. Is the lens making a different in balancing? Could you help me please?

Hey mate, your set up might be slightly too light. We recommend getting a quick release system such as the Manfrotto 577, which should help. If it's too heavy maybe try the Manfrotto 323.

i have 6300, and am debating between this and the v2. for all intensive purposes, is the plus worth the $200 more?

Thank you for your review. Just wondering if I balanced the crane plus with an a6500 and sigma 16mm 1.4, would this be enough weight for it to function properly? And would I need to rebalance the camera every time I connect it to the gimball or would it remember my previous setting?

Can it do time lapse with any camera or is it limited only to Sony & Panasonic?

    • @GeorgesCamerasTV
      @GeorgesCamerasTV  6 лет назад +2

The Crane itself physically moves so if you're filming than you can basically use any camera. If you're talking about stills then that is camera dependant.

Me, looking this up to use it with an a7 and a 16-35mm:
Him: if you're using an a7 with a 16-35mm, it'll take it no problem
Me: okay, guess he made my decision for me..
