You mentioned how good Kirstie looked - it's even more impressive when you remember that she had her baby girl barely 3 months before this concert performance!
no Avi left because the tough schedule and touring took too much of his time and he didn't want to stay out doing that much anymore, wanted to do more family stuff.@@victorluke5816
If I remember correctly the original Daft Punk recording was in a closet with all of them just singing (and a very good microphone from FifthGen). Ed Boyer, their mixer, stated in an interview that he had only this to work with. Just for your information. Great reaction and Greetings from Germany
@@CarmenReacts It's a birthday present to myself. I got the tickets in February and the closer it gets the more fired up I get! I tried to memorize all of the words to all of their songs so I can sing along and annoy the people around me! hahaha
Now that you have been blown away by this, you need to see them do it live in a small private performance -- no stage, no mikes. Was filmed on a phone so the sound quality isn't great BUT they are stil amazing. Not good at links, so just search "pentatonix daft punk live private" That should get you there. Pretty sure you'll enjoy it. 😀
They are just unmatchable - it's extraordinary what they can do with no special effects, just their own incredible voices. Thanks for the reaction Carmen! I love your enthusiasm for PTX. We all love to hear from other Pentaholics! :)
For a long time there weren't a lot of good-quality Pentatonix concert videos, but in the last couple of years phone videos have gotten a lot better and Pentatonix has done some professionally-recorded live streams that fans have captured (including this). So I have been really enjoying being able to see them perform live. I've followed this year's world tour through fan videos.
These guys are just amazing and I just love it that they are so committed to only recording music that they can do live. If they can't do it live they don't record it
@@CarmenReacts it is well deserved, I am 65 yr old grandma and any parent or grandparent would be so proud of the incredible person you are. May God bless and keep you, also your boyfriend, praying for the 2 of y'all and hope he is doing good
Yes, they are just as incredible live as they are in their videos!! They are all so talented & I absolutely love 💕 them. Thanks for another great reaction!!
The first PTX video you reacted to was "Hallelujah" There's a live (?) broadcast performance from their Christmas Special on youtube that's pretty amazing.
Another suggestion you've probably already got is to see this (Daft Punk Medley) done in an small room, for a small audience, with no equipment at all. (I THINK it was recorded when they visited The Trevor Project, but not sure about that). Shouldn't be hard to find.
Yes, this is so good, glad you like it, is what we Pentaholics said to those reactors how cant believe what Ptx do, or said that all is postproduction, of course in recording like all music is clean to sound better, and the producer had a lot of influence, but what we said is that they dont record anything that they cant reproduce a live, because they are mostly a cappella group so their credibility is at risk if they cant. I also love that when you have other instruments you cant watched them the cello of Kevin, or in concerts they add strings, guitar or piano, they are too great Christmas song where in one Thank You Scott plays the piano (and in the video we saw the piano) and The Evergreen song, one of my favorite Christmas song of them, in this song they have a guitar, and in the concerts they used the guitar
Saw them for the first time in March and I was blown away by how being live doesn’t change their sound at all. I was torn between just sitting there with my mouth hanging open marveling at their talent and dancing around in the seat 😂
Thank you for the great reaction to this fun Pentatonix live performance. You give me a reason to look forward to Mondays. Whenever you can't think of what to react to one day, you can always pick any video from the Hollywood Bowl live concert and it will be great.
I was in the audience of this concert and it was my first full PTX concert and when I say it was a night that I will never forget the rest of my life, I mean it wholeheartedly! 🥺👏🏾🤩 Their energy on face that night was so contagious and they just oozed humility and gratefulness. It was downright electrifying 🤟🏾❤️👍🏾
have i seen the live version of Love Again on the channel 24/7 City Secrets? highlights all of their abilities and you get to hear what Kevin beatboxes live.
Pentatonix does use layering occasionally on their EPs and in their official videos, and obviously they can't do that live. But "Daft Punk"? I don't think so in this one. For one thing, at the time they put out "Daft Punk" they didn't HAVE a studio; they recorded the audio in one of their closets which had good acoustics. And that gorgeous video? It was recorded by a company named FifGen. They had a location lined up where they planned to do the video shoot but it dropped through at the last minute. So someone with FifGen had an idea and bought a set of black bed sheets which they used to make a backdrop in one of their kitchens. I think FifGen supplied the black light, but the single ring light was included in the $400 budget that went into making it. The other major expense was cosmetics, presumably including the blue contact lenses. Obviously it was professionally edited, but I doubt that layering was needed, and the quality of their live performances of "Daft Punk" is a major part of why I think that.
If you enjoy a band having a good time performing, you should check out Nightwish performing Ghost Love Score at the 2013 Wacken Open Air Metal Festival before 82k people. They are a group of masters who combine their talents in order to make great music, that their keyboardist writes. They will blow you away.
Hi Carmen. What a nice reaction. I smiled when You were silently "singing along" ... because I do the same. Now You have seen the official music video and the live show from the hollywood bowl. In both cases they have had microphones and some kind of amplifiers and stuff ... but to experience the absolute magic PTX can do You should watch their "private performance" of that medley. It was done in April 2016 in some backstage area even without mics and recorded on a phone! And it still sounds the same .... here's the link ruclips.net/video/tw4YCsHXKgI/видео.html
If you really want to compare Avi and Matt I recommend the official video of "Hallelujah," with Avi singing the second verse, compared to this live performance from their 2023 world tour, featuring Matt on the second verse: ruclips.net/video/ASYzLoi810k/видео.html
You mentioned how good Kirstie looked - it's even more impressive when you remember that she had her baby girl barely 3 months before this concert performance!
You've had time to recover. Get back on stage now. Was this why Avi had to leave? :)
no Avi left because the tough schedule and touring took too much of his time and he didn't want to stay out doing that much anymore, wanted to do more family stuff.@@victorluke5816
That flawless key change right before Kirstie’s solo gives me goosebumps every time.

I love how they're able to make it sound the same live as in the studio!! 😍

They just announced a new song on august 11th, I rise!!!!
Pentatonix, Home Free, Voiceplay - live are AWESOME! As you know, haha.😊
Recommend their cover of My Favorite Things.
I just have to tell you I love PTX and love your reactions, you are just a beautiful soul and very refreshing to watch
Thank you, that is so kind of you 😊

Thank you for showing this, I’ve never seen a live performance and it’s fricken awesome, I think they’re great and I want to go see them live
Sometimes I think the live performances are the best ❤😊
Never fails to make me dance. Such a bop for the ears and soul.

They are careful not to create an arrangement that they cannot reproduce live. The crazy thing is how incredibly difficult their arrangements are. ❤
