Buying used phone is good business to your country. Make sure to choose suppliers from Shenzhen City, and use Aliexpress for buing very small quantity. Or Use Alibaba to buy larger quanttity (like $1000 above), but use Trade Assurance at least for the first business with new supplier.

I have a question. I created a product that requires 2 parts from different manufactures, the packaging is from a 3rd manufacturer, and the printed instructions from a 4th. Instead of having each manufacturer ship the items to me sepperatly and pay 4x shipping is there a way to send all pieces to 1 manufacturer and have them combine everything before shipping to me all at once. The dimensions of each fully assembled unit is 156mm x 90mm x 51mm and weighs 190 grams. As of right now I am only ordering parts for 200 units at a time. Hi Michael, this is a good way to low shipping cost and it's better you can let one of the part supplier to help you combine the products and send to you in one shipment because they know the product best. But if none of these suppliers agree to do that, you need to find an agent to help you with that.

For small business, what you need to do is to find suitable products first, then identify if the supplier is legit or trustworthy. It doesn't matter if the manufacturer is the best in China or not. It probably depends on the shipping company in your local. Usually samples are shipped by courier companies like DHL, FedEx. Maybe if you are too far away from city, there will be some charges? Also, if your supplier didn't choose paying import duty from him, The postman will charge you import duty when it's delivered.

Choosing a reliable supplier that you can work with him for long term business will be the key point, if you want to purchase products in large quantities. Trade Assurance or other Escrow solutions can not always solve problems.

Thank you for the comment. There's no a best manufacturer for all this products. For small business, what you need to do is to find suitable products first, then identify if the supplier is legit or trustworthy. It doesn't matter if the manufacturer is the best in China or not. As long as the supplier have good communication with you, sample product quality is good, price is nice, then buy from him. Best manufacturer always have large MOQ, and they only deal with big retailers.

Hi what's the other way to prevent local charges because i bought a sample product from alibaba, i paid including the shipping fee, and when the product arrives at me they still charge me for the local shipping fee. Thanks for your answer :)
It probably depends on the shipping company in your local. Usually samples are shipped by courier companies like DHL, FedEx. Maybe if you are too far away from city, there will be some charges? Also, if your supplier didn't choose paying import duty from him, The postman will charge you import duty when it's delivered.

One thing I have problems with is selling in mass quantities, I fear that I would waste tons of money if the sell doesn’t go right. Any advice?
Choosing a reliable supplier that you can work with him for long term business will be the key point, if you want to purchase products in large quantities. Trade Assurance or other Escrow solutions can not always solve problems.
You only buy large quantity, when you feel the supplier is worthy to work for long term, after a few orders. Otherwise, better to split your orders to different supplier to reduce the risk. By doing this, you can have higher chance to filter out the most reliable supplier.
