Now that Dragon's Dogma 2 is about to release and it seems to be growing in popularity by the day. I wanted to find out why Dragons Dogma remained an unknown game to many RPG fans for years, despite being a pretty good game.

that's absolutely wild that you start the RPG renaissance in 2007 when most of us consider that time period to be the beginning of the dark ages of RPG gaming. the renaissance was in the late 90s with fallout and baldurs gate

It"s like when fans talk about " Classic Bioware"' then they talk about Dragon Age Origins forgetting about Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 and all the other great rpg"s that came out .

Yeah I had no idea about this game and then got terribly excited once I discovered it. It looks incredible this game, I might actually buy it before it goes on special haha.
It does look like a special game and I'm looking forward to playing it.

I’m surprised that it is considered “over looked”. The game had a free demo and became free to play on ps plus. If you watch any reviews from the time you will see that people disliked the pawn system and hated the poorly executed fast travel.

Except for the fans who saw what it was going for. First game is my favorite of all time by a long shot, completely unique

@@rocketdurham4926 I’m not saying it didn’t have it’s fans. I am one of them. I’m merely stating that the reason for its small player base. It wasn’t over looked, many people don’t have the patience to run back and forth an open world. They also have become used to playing similar games multiplayer.
