I have adored Madonna in the movie and the music. We are blessed here in Puerto Vallarta to have an Argentine couple called Bohemia Viva. Andrea sings the song as it should be done, in Spanish, and brings the house down every time her cords send it in our direction. They are a force to be reckoned with. Behind them they play on a screen the old B&W footage of her last goodbye and death, the funeral procession and all the lines of people in tears. They just completed their first tour of the USA and are now back for the season here in Puerto Vallarta.

dont cry for me....listening to Olivia's version tonight and comparing it to Madonna's official video version.....I think Olivia underplays it, in a most beautiful red simple sparkling long dress bringing out her face and her sincerity...and I am still stunned by her....sometimes she is shown to be a very simple mover when not in a musical...in that short country and western dress....moving without technically interesting choreography....you get the feeling that she can sound and move almost boring compared to many young and dancy singers today...driven to make us obscess and adore....an act that we cannot ever duplicate or even try to...Olivia though brings out a wholesomeness, a sincerity and she doesn't look like its that hard for her to just be herself and shine out the message of a song...it astounds me sometimes that she started to make her name on a country and western number about murdering a man who would not take her for a wife when she looks so darned girl next door demure, sensitive, kind and just very young innocent and lovely....Madonna though has the brilliance of the consummate competent performer playing the wife of the pollie so well with a perfect voice to match...The audience are not crying for her or adoring her....but obsessively watching the balcony where she appears...the focus shifts every now and then to the attractive face of one man...both singers making a realistic version of the same woman. RIP Olivia...Thankyou for giving of yourself so much...for all of us to enjoy.....

Uncrowned queen of pop music , Still I am grateful to Madonna for entertain my two grammar school kids with her delightful pop music , it was a delight to watch teenagers submerged in Madonna’s songs forget themselves from the pressure of grammar school home works now they are one consultant cardiologist,,other biomedical scientist , Madonna songs should own the credit .
