    Really good test, thanks a lot. Now I’m convinced this car would be more than enough for my needs.

    I have owned a 500e for 18 months that I usually drive at similar speeds. Your range is an exact match for my own in similar driving conditions, but this drops by about a third during winter.

    • @RexMuffin

      Below -20°C, Ev’s drop to just over half of their summer range. They also drop in horsepower by a huge amount as the battery cannot output enough power to the motor. I hate my EV in the canadian winter.

      @@RexMuffin Agree with your comment. Much though I enjoy my 500e, there is no way I would have a BEV if I lived in Canada.

    As little EV's go, I must admit I've been pretty amazed at the range on the 2021 E-UP! I can easily get 260km and over 300 in city. So far my average consumption is 10.8 kw. Plus with the latest updates the charging speed is actually very decent. But this little fiat looks cool too.

      The range in the city with my 500e is over 390 km! In the city the range is higher on every eCar, you have recopuration !

    Consumption at 126 Wh/km is pretty good I think.

    The price of these is still a little high for my liking, but it's probably going to be my first electric just for the city or putting around ... I'd never go full electro for longer trips.

    When this is available in Canada in 2024 I'll seriously consider it, if the price is right. I am not going to pay $50k or even $40k for a 42kwh efficiency car, hopefully they price it aggressively!

    the 99% thing is probably the car performing a maintanance cycle on the battery, the leaf also does this for the final hour of charging

    Can you confirm that you were testing the 42kw battery version and not the larger 80kw?

    Nice test but it seems a bit high in consumption at this speed. When driving so slow my e-tron 55 is not so far away with 14,9 kWh/100km at 90 km/h. I hopes this little Fiat would be around 10 kWh/100km.

    • @BatteryLife
      @BatteryLife  3 года назад +9

      I am pretty sure your etron does not have 149 Wh/km consumption at 90 km/h constant speed without elevation change. Björn Nyland did a range test with your car at gps 90 and had 208 Wh/km in the summef.

      @@BatteryLife Yesterday i drove from Berlin to Merseburg and back. First way, a little faster with 16,7 kWh/100km, back to Berlin with 14,9 kWh/100km. You are right, not with GPS 90. ACC on 100km/h and behind a lorry with legal distance that drove around 90 to 94km/h. In Juli i drove a 400km nonstop-trip with the e-tron and 100km/h average over the distance with 20,4 kWh/100km. Both trips under perfect conditions with climate control eco. I think the conditions make the difference. e-tron a charging monster and :) a distance monster :) joke.

    probably the EV that makes the most sense for the technology that we have available. Unfortunately it is way overpriced.
