Toyota's Land Cruiser has always been the preferred mode of transport in some of the world's harshest environments - and is particularly popular in its more accessible 'Light Duty Series' form. A fourth generation 'J150' version of this model series arrived in 2009 and was substantially improved in 2014 to create the car we're going to look at here as a potential used buy.

At first I really hated this design but now I think it's very pretty. Much prettier than the new light duty Land Cruiser.

A very popular vehicles here in Australia, both the larger 'real' Land Cruiser and what is shown here, Land Cruiser - Prado.
Then there are the '70 Series' Land Cruiser, a cattle station must have.

I own LC150 for last 3 years. Nothing less of a respect to a machine, that I can trust.

It’s a four cylinder!!! Twice in the intro you refer to it as a six cylinder?🤔

maybe they just didn't look at the specifications and just went by heart and they thought a 3.0L would be a 6-cylinder, but no

What's funny is that in 2014-15 they went to the 2.7L 4 cylinder from the 3L 4

I suspect he has the V6 4.0L model and that it is the 'banner' on the video that is wrong. And he doesn't mention that most Prado's (at least here in Australia) have the spare wheel on the rear door thus replacing the under body spare wheel with an additional fuel tank bringing fuel capacity to 150 litres, which while good, is, sadly, not as good as the 180 litres of the 120 series Prado.

Hi Steve, this is a U.K. registered car and a U.K. presenter doing the review. Toyota GB have not sold the V6 petrol 4.0 in the U.K. since the Prado 120 ended its model run here in 2009. Neither do we get the 2.7 petrol model. Originally from launch in 2003 the U.K. Prado 120 only came with a tailgate mounted spare with an empty space under the chassis where other markets got the option of the additional fuel tank. Later in that models life the underbody spare was an option on the middle and top of the range cars. Since launching the J150 in 2009/2010 the U.K. only get the underbody spare wheel, 3.0 Diesel and later 2.8 Diesel. All petrol models of this car in the U.K. are second hand imports. There are only a handful of them here currently, most are Japanese spec imports. I have seen one Australian model personal import diesel for sale with the tail gate spare and extra fuel tank. The new Landcruiser being sold in the USA as a petrol 2.4 hybrid is coming to the U.K. but will again only be sold here with a diesel 2.8.
It’s basically a great review of the car in the video and he was definitely driving the 3.0 diesel, I may have been a little pedantic in my comments!
