i buff my hulls with wax shops liquid wax , if you notice when you tip your boat at 90 degree you have water flat and spread to the hull it shouldn't have any stuck to the hull . a polymer will bead right off. that water is hanging on the hull which is drag. been playing with polymer's like never wet also . it does wear off but seems to work better. also you can use star bright salt away or a mix of vinegar in water to neutralize the salt to protect and rinse out your components . hence why i run a pump when i get home i mix up a batch and turn on water pump to flush water jacket and esc . i just use a gallon jug stick rudder down in turn on pump , and cycle and let sit . zero build up of salt and corrosion. any 12v self priming pump inline of cooling system works . run my pump constantly keeps temps down .
great video brother, any day being on the water is a good day, even if you break lol,my 24 will be here today, cant wait ,its like Christmas, take care buddy
Has anyone ever used the Traxxas marine grease? I just picked some up because it was on sale.but I haven't seen any reviews on it.please let me know if you would use it on your boats
Yes you are correct “A bad day running my rc stuff is better than a good day at work” again “we throw our boats in the water to create a hole for our money” however and I don’t think it’s just me, I kinda get a kick out of having to repair my stuff, seeing where the week links are and doing a little upgrade. Here’s the question, do you think you can just hose down your electrons with corrosionx or do you have to apply it to just certain points, I mean can I stick the hose in the shrink wrap of my ESC and hold the nozzle down for a few seconds and kinda soke
I usually only corrosion X my receivers, inside servos, & Motor bearings I've tried battery connectors & balance leads but I've noticed that the wire sheaths do no like corrosion X, makes the rubber hard & brittle
got a good deal on ebay ordered my first super high end brushless motor 4200kv Rocket,Water Jacket and ESC £95 so the big Hydroplane build NQD Speedstorm is now in the build.. thanks to your channel now beginning to understand boat science.. its so technical its untrue
@@IRONCLADRC thanks.. would the 4200 kv Rocket be enough power (i think it might) but hey as the expert.. thinkin of sticking this beast and prop in the middle of the NQD Speedstorm Hydroplane
Bro , my veles broke in the exact same place. Overheated the stuffing tube til it blew as well. Can’t wait to see you fix this, kinda selfish of me I know. There are no replacement stuffing tubes , so I’m hoping tou go to the 1/4” tube and .187 flex shaft like we had talked about . Super frustrating sometimes the boats can be, but like you said it beats working. Bg4life. Your veles looked damn good before the break. It was planted on the water
I feel your pain running on salt water, I used to have to run on that dam stuff all the time. Its no joke when you get salt water in the boat, even the stainless hardware screws used to rust over time as they are only A2 grade stainless & not A4 stainless.
Hey Big B, great vids on the V2 S wake. With your OSE150a esc, would the Firma 160a be a better choice overall than the OSE 150A? Any help would be appreciated before I make the purchase .Thanks for the help in the reviews and builds with the s wake
Hey Big B know your a busy man these days with all the fine vids you do. Would appreciate a response back on my question on the esc choice fir the S wake V2. Thanks
@@IRONCLADRC question for you pal! I just bought the sonicwake v2. I ran it with the Octura x642 and notice my boat gets up to 160 on the esc 125 highest I’ve got the motor. I am running it pretty hard drag racing my buddies. The boat hits thermal cut off quite often so I have to let it sit before I can throttle her up again. Is this prop better than the stock prop for stock application? Would I be better off buying a 160 amp spektrum esc or is the stock esc ok? I’m running QS8 plugs on all my batteries and the esc. Am I pulling too much current for this esc? I have no idea about this stuff lol
I have noticed on these speed run vids be it cars or boats , that almost everyone uses FPV on rescue boats and luck with cars which is great but what happen to binoculars , never seen them used when they really could help , old tech i know but would really help line up your shot for rescue or just seeing long distances up close without the cost of FPV , but not as fun ..
Hi nice vid thanks for showing 😊.I was wondering do you have water getting into the Sonicwake when the boat sits in the water without moving, mine floods in after a while and i e even taped up the hatch to make sure it's not coming in did you sort it
That's a tough question. Jeez. Ummm?m depends really, if you want a fast boat out the box the veles is the ticket if you want to build a fast boat the blackjack 24 is the way to go. Imo, I've had more fun with my blackjack 24, building her and making it my own
Big B power your camera from a bec internal(esc 5v),or external (bec/regulator) if vtx can handle battery voltage power it directly from the battery... 1 more thing use a common ground for the battery and vtx !
Capacitor... they store electricity at low current flow, release them at full throttle. Youre esc will have less/lower amp peaks which is good for the electronics. Esc will run cooler also... (explanation in my best englisch..)
Also when coming off full throttle the power needs someplace to go. It is called return path . So instead of the power struggling to get back to the battery or overheating the esc , it gets stored in the capacitor ready to be released on next full throttle pull. Caps are used in big bass stereos to fill lag between amp and subwoofer also in vacuums to aid in startup
. I ran 80 grit sand paper down length of my hulls. In big racing boats, they are faster. Air gets under the boat in the grooves so hull has less contact with the water. As for my geico, no difference in speed. MY delta was about 1mph faster. Of course, wind , waves etc its not a perfect test

Just one of those days brother - we all have them!

The firma would be the better choice Temps will be cooler than the 150 raider and you have the option to run the boat on 8s

Yea I found my issue, it was a small hole in one of my cooling lines.
@@IRONCLADRC Thanks alot 😊👍
is it the same progress to add a second cooling line to the recoil 2 as it is on the blackjack 42 or so i need a new rutter for the dual cooling port
Yes sir Basically you'll need a dual pick up rudder or and external water pickup
When it rain it pours. Sorry for your shitty day. Better days ahead Big B
Veles 29 or BJ24? which is more fun to run?

What is a cap pack? Purpose?
Capacitor... they store electricity at low current flow, release them at full throttle. Youre esc will have less/lower amp peaks which is good for the electronics. Esc will run cooler also... (explanation in my best englisch..)
Your right brother. It prevents low voltage sag/drop during a hard trigger pull
