Complicated for the amateur under the gun and with few reps. Nicklaus says to keep it simple. For the fade, aim left, open the face. For the draw, aim right, close the face. I just don't have the ability to direct the swing path intentionally. I like the Nicklaus method because I can use the same swing, the game is already hard enough. I'm sure this works fine if you have the time to buckets daily.
WIN CLUBS!!! Well, I guess this comment would work for the Driver contest and if so it would be amazing. Rick since I was a child (I am currently 16) I know very well that Golf is very important to me but I had not paid enough attention to it and until a few years ago when I started playing again and saw that my style, ability and above all Handicaps were deplorable and that I need help from a professional, it was complicated at first and tedious because I did not enjoy some of their methods and customs but all that changed when I saw one of your videos. I realized how easy and fun the sport is when I saw your enthusiasm, dedication and love for the game. Thanks to you I have dedicated myself to practice and focus and feel good when playing, the quarantine has been tedious but thanks to your videos, tips and encouragement to continue immersed in the sport I decided to practice from home so THANK YOU !!! Month I would like to win the Driver because currently I do not have a single game with a hybrid and it is complicated and although I did not win that it would not take away the esteem and admiration that I have for you and the channel. I am very happy that you almost reached the million subscribers !!!
Great video, Rick. Very simple and effective. Mark Crossfield also mentioned something similar about where the club exits. I'm pretty sure Tom can get to single figures easily with this swing.
Very easy to understand. Very hard to learn to do consistently for amateurs. I think many tour players take this 'feel' approach to shaping the ball, but they grind out 1000s of hours to be able to do it well. Other pros will adjust their stance and set up and/or club face, and keep the same swing. Either can work - if you've the hours to put in.
hey Rick ive a Question ? ive followed your instructions for combatting a slice and my result, I SET UP WITH FEET IN THE DRAW POSITION ( WITH DRIVER ) BUT THE DRAW GOES DEAD STRAIGHT HIGH LONG DRIVE FOR ME , IM HAPPY, if I want a slice my feet are straight and I let it rip , this gives me a slice or fade . HOWEVER WHEN I NEEDED A DRAW ON THE 18TH UNDER PRESSURE IN THE RAIN IT WENT SOARING UP RIGHT ( SLICE ) WHY? PAUL
Draw and fade for me is setup. Aim left, open clubface a bit. Aim right, shut face over. Then it's my normal swing, and I let the path and face create the rest though setup. Makes it easy imo
Hmm. It actually should work. The one on the right is really similar to the way I hit it. I'm looking forward to trying the swing on the left. Can't wait until a month from now when I just swing and pray.
Seems like you should build his swing from the bottom up. His turn will not be as full once he stops straightening his right leg in the back swing. Help him keep his posture throughout the swing and watch where his club position and turn end up and then you can get back to modifying his swing path from there. Changing your alignment for shot shaping only works if the lower body stays the same for each set up otherwise it's 3 different swings......
Swing plane too flat. Swing too long. Doesn't have enough forearm strength to hold the club so gets crossed at the top due to the overswing. Don't get why you'd "teach" someone to feel like they're cutting across the ball? You setup open to the target and swing on that path - so you're teaching him to set up open and then feel like he's cutting across that line? Err, no. Better off teaching him for the fade to hold the top hand firm through impact, curtailing the follow through so the club remains above the horizontal at finish will help to trigger this feeling.
How is his swing plane flat . . how do you know he doesn't have forearm strength the forearm doesn't hold the club its your hands. . every pro holds clubs, swing clubs, their stance they are all different, think your just being picky. In my opinion is his left shoulder is pulling the club which opens up his body, which encourages a hook . . more
You should redo this video Rick. Great content just not up to your new quality.
Agreed. Would love to see a vid that breaks down the basic elements of a fade and draw - swing plain and impact.

Thank you very much!
Could you perhaps do an update one with you hitting? Would love to see it, thanks!
Can you do an updated draw an fade

Yes he is now a comfortable single figure player. Thanks for the comment
Great videos Rick, thank you. Have you done any on getting check on the green?
How to hit a draw OR a fade: swing the golf club - one of them is bound to happen.
David Ross ROFLMAO I am very consistent with that premise.
Check "draw OR fade" lesson Mastered. Whats next?
It depends what you define as a draw, if the ball starts left and then goes further left, thats not a draw in my books
ha ha this made me chuckle, great logic and very much what happens with most of us
Oliver Thompson that means you just put a draw on your draw!

That’s an awesome tip and the proper way to hit a fade! 👍
Wow.. he flies across the Atlantic for lessons!!
Any chance of a redo of this video? I saw the Draw video you did but would love to see both draw and fade redone
Yes
Rick can you test the vixa v12 golf club?
Can you do a new updated vid on how to draw and fade iron shot please
Where’s the updated version Rick?
Perhaps an updated video on this is in order with some new video tech that will allow the viewer to see what is going on a little better.

How to transfer the work you do at the range to the course from the mat to the turf.
Great video, rick

Yup. The last video was it.

Right leg looks like it locks out rigidly on the backswing.
Ever think youd have a million subs at this time??

Jake Johnston Yeah, teach a PGA Golf Coach how to give lessons smartass

Rocket Science
holy crap that back leg is stiff as a board.
way too confusing not helpful at all
Sorry thats just terrible :/

You sound like you know how to teach better. Become a golf pro and see if you can correct these issues

mehgc what a load of bollocks. Feeling is different for every player. Never read such nonsense
