Hey Rick, I have an idea that I have not seen done by any golfing youtuber. Can you make instructional video while using a go pro or similar camera to show POV of a golf swing. I think people get often confused about correct positions and how clubface should be angled in golf swing because we don't see it in POV. This type of video could be very helpful for many people.
Great video, Rick! I was getting fitted for irons and this was something that my fitter kept bringing up to me. I can hit the ball pretty far, especially for my handicap, but my natural ball flight is way lower than I’d like it to be.
Rick I love all your videos can I make a suggestion that many average golfers face on a regular basis. SIDE HILL SET UP / DOWN HILL SET UP / UPHILL ECT ECT....... THIS WOULD BE A HUGE HELP TO MANY. I myself am a 5 handicap and still struggle with these aspects at times......... Keep up the good work!
Align with terrain (don’t fight it) then compensate for uphill with a pull shot (left) and a downhill with a push shot (right). You’ll need to experiment with it but you’ll get the hang
Great video Rick! Always been a player to hit a lower flight. Before this video I was at 15.0 and my season target of 13 looked unattainable. Since making this slight change and mindset I finished the last four comps of the year with top 10 finishes and winning the final board comp of the year. Oh... and I am now 12.2 🤜🏾
Lovely video content! Apologies for chiming in, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Paneevelyn Swinging Clubsman (google it)? It is an awesome one off guide for revealing an effortless golf swing technique minus the headache. Ive heard some amazing things about it and my cousin after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.
You're the best Rick! Your videos are so well done and easy to understand. I'm finally starting to shape my shots because of your guidance and now this adds two more shots to my arsenal.
Thanks, Rick, for doing this video. While it's been done a million times, it has more often than not, not been explained as thoroughly as you have here. I like that you did not over do the technical aspects (the physics of a high finish for a high trajectory) but yet did provide the three points to make these two critical shots work. Well done. I hope that this is the beginning of a great series.
I tried this method and had immediate success! The low shot is much easier to hit while thinking about the finish instead of thinking about forward shaft lean. The high shot, with increased speed at the ball, and high hands worked great too!
My daughter watched this video and using the low ball tips in all her non-driver playing during her US Kids Regional tournament last weekend. Of course, the result is so amazing! Thanks for your sharing and very appreciated👍
I'm a low striker by nature due to a cautious 3/4 swing most times ... I believe Rick has given me the advice I need to improve my confidence, set up, swing and striking 🥳⛳
Hey Rick, been watching your clear and concise instructions for a while now, but love this one in particular with the slo mo and side by side comparison videos. Keep up the good work mate.
Rick, would you recommend the low flight shot when attempting to get out from under trees, or is there a better stylized shot for that? PS: I have had Garmin S60 for 6 months, and love it. Easy to use, and super helpful on and off the course.
Hello Rick, Great video, I have only been playing golf for about 5 years but I am not seeing improvement of my scores, I believe this will help tremendously. Thank you for the tips I do appreciate it very much.
Love the videos Rick - brand new to the game and went from a first round of 130 to 97 for my 10th round by watching everything you’ve put out. Keep doing what you’re doing. Bring on 95.
Thank you, Rick. As a low handicapper, I have a solid full shot game tee to green. But getting at least 2 more distances per club with simple to remember keys gives me something to work around at the range next visit. I've really only been a full shot or punch player never focused on legit learning small knockdowns or ballooning soft shots. I'm excited to try these and note my new distances for between club situations.
Rick, I hit the ball high, too high. I'm constantly working on that knock down for several reasons. It is more controllable and somehow in my head I think that shortening my swing eliminates the many things that can go wrong versus when I go full throttle. I appreciate your rundown on the low shot to help remind me of the fundamentals of the shot versus feeling my way through it.
I’m hoping you see this Rick, but as a guy from upper Midwest US watching your videos have helped my game immensely. I just want to say thanks (or cheers) mate for helping my game out
I have been struggling with low ball flight recently and this video outlined perfectly what I was doing wrong and what I needed to change. Thank you for the great content Rick!
I'm going to play a twilight game tonight and try these tips. Got a great deal at our local course 3 years unlimited golf for under $200.00. Not a perfect course but great to help improve your game. Been taking all your tips there and trying out what works best for me.
I NEEDED this! I always hit my irons at a moderate to low high, which kills me on a lot of my approach shots. I'll try out this advice and see if it works for me!
Rick, your tutorials helped me greatly already in my very first 18 at my work's yearly golf tournament. I shot a 79 (par 72) my first time ever on a course thanks to you and others like you who teach. I even got a solitary birdie... And my only goal was to get a par! Thank you again for all the great tips!
Hey Adam - I think what he’s explaining is when you put the ball further back in your stance with an 8, it de-lofts the club a bit. If you were to hit a 7 iron there you’d be hitting the ball further than you had intended. 7 iron club has a longer shaft than an 8, so your distance will be further with the same swing
Rick, thanks for the great content as always! Do you think chipping with a bouncy ball would be a good drill? I was thinking smaller ball means you have to hit it more pure to not top/chunk the ball.
Man this will help me out a ton, I hit all my irons very high, it’s great for sticking greens, most of the time I stick it and it doesn’t move more than a yard or two, or I have a lot of back spin, but I’d like to hit a little lower in the fairway and have some more roll! Thanks Rick
Love the content you continually put out for us Rick! I have been struggling to find a happy medium with my shots. I get massive height on all iron shots, my average spin rate for a 7 iron is 8400 rpm and that's with traditional lofts. Issue is my descending angle which usually causes the ball to plug into the greens not spin. (Note club head speed with a 7 iron is 107mph)
Before watching this.. I would have guessed to move ball back slightly, to achieve more spin and height.. Thanks for the great advice as ever! Cant wait to test this.. post national lockdown.
From my experience it doesn't really. The lower shot tends to run quite a bit and the higher shot has more spin which is due to the faster club head speed (ball gets sucked into the air more), meaning softer landing and less run. This comes down to the quality of your ball striking. If you play around with both shots you'll notice they can vary slightly but all in all I've found them to be the same when it comes to flat ground.
I think I would agree. My playing partner hits the golf ball on the lower side while I tend to hit the ball rather high. Yardages are usually fairly comparable.
Will placing the ball back in your stance more help promote top spin as well? But I do generate quite a bit of backspin which I'm not sure if it is a result of my wrist action during follow through or what
So I played yesterday. My ball off the tee hits a cart path that's cutting thru the fairway. Bounces in another holes fairway. I knew I couldnt get it over I could only go thru or under. I hit just like you said to here and kept it low. Landed on the green and then tapped in for birdie. (Par 4) thanks do much Rick
Nice video again RIck. I wonder if this is an area where single length irons would simplify life for the average Joe. No fussing around with different setup and swing thoughts, just use the lower lofted club and adjust swing length only. Same as we all do when we are between clubs.
Q.) What golf shot do you love hitting?
Driving
Stinger
280 yard cobra f9 3 wood!!!!
A pure hit long iron. mmmmmm
3 wood with a draw
I can hit the ball way high and real low, I just can't tell you when it's going to happen
i feel you bro
HAHAHAH, epic comment!!!
makes me laugh so hard
🤣🤣🤣
Facts 😆
I always feel so confident while watching these videos and then get out there and regret everything haha
I feel like I’m gonna hit like Bryson then I end up shanking it and hitting people

Rick just please do the 14 club challenge 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Rick: Do you hit the ball high or low?
Me: Yes
More like left or low - YES 😁
Lol when did Tiger become British? 😂 "Fancy 9 holes Rick?" 😂
This little easter egg cracked me up so much too! Hahaha
Instant first thought here
Good on Rick to blow off Tiger to make a video for us instead.
This is Tiger Goods, lives just outside of Luton, plays off 22.
Great video, Rick! I was getting fitted for irons and this was something that my fitter kept bringing up to me. I can hit the ball pretty far, especially for my handicap, but my natural ball flight is way lower than I’d like it to be.

Great suggestion by Gabe. A video addressing these types setups would be terrific!
Align with terrain (don’t fight it) then compensate for uphill with a pull shot (left) and a downhill with a push shot (right). You’ll need to experiment with it but you’ll get the hang
Great video Rick!

You should do the 14 club challenge with Pete
That challenge is so much fun to watch. European tour and everyone else needs to make more! Not a ton out there
Hagen Rudisaile great shout!!!!!

STINGERS FTW
You're the best Rick! Your videos are so well done and easy to understand. I'm finally starting to shape my shots because of your guidance and now this adds two more shots to my arsenal.
Good video. This will help me flight it low when needed. Thx.

Love the Tiger message, did you ignore him too?
Hi Rick love your videos.
I have a question have you ever played sunningdale golf club new or old
As I’m often in the trees I’ve developed a lovely low 7 iron stinger 👌
Your the best coach I've ever come across keeping it so clear and simple
Sorted my game out considerably over a youtube channel amazing
I have a lot of loft so this is helpful. Next up ... hitting from the fairways like you were :)
Simple and helpful thank you
Rick, your golf club reviews are the best out there, and now I appreciate your golf instruction. Nice video!
I tried this method and had immediate success! The low shot is much easier to hit while thinking about the finish instead of thinking about forward shaft lean. The high shot, with increased speed at the ball, and high hands worked great too!
Thanks Rick, Again explained and demonstrated in a very clear and understanding way. Have a great summer and golf-golf-golf!
Great tutorial video - thanks for sharing this amazing tips!
Fabulous info,,as a newbie to golf at 66 years old nobody has ever told me about this, even with having lessons, thank you very much !!!
My daughter watched this video and using the low ball tips in all her non-driver playing during her US Kids Regional tournament last weekend. Of course, the result is so amazing! Thanks for your sharing and very appreciated👍
Hey Rick, what’s the average distance difference’s between those two shots for you? For example using a 7iron?
I'm a low striker by nature due to a cautious 3/4 swing most times ... I believe Rick has given me the advice I need to improve my confidence, set up, swing and striking 🥳⛳
Your tips and explanation are so clear. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you.

This is the only sponsorship product I actually liked. That garmin watch was dope
Simple to understand and to the point video. Excellent job.
Watched this earlier before playing in 50 mph winds today. Really helped and played well 👍
Hitting it low from perfect lie in the fairway is my speciality and field of expertise.
Been awhile you’ve done a lesson, thanks always helpful. I still watch your swing series over and over. You’ve been a big help to my game.
Hello Rick, Great video, I have only been playing golf for about 5 years but I am not seeing improvement of my scores, I believe this will help tremendously. Thank you for the tips I do appreciate it very much.
Your best illustrations is very very good and clear

Supper helpful Rick! It's great being able to play both the high and low shot on demand
Do a video with gm golf
Great teaching information. Thanks
I’m hoping you see this Rick, but as a guy from upper Midwest US watching your videos have helped my game immensely. I just want to say thanks (or cheers) mate for helping my game out
This video was incredibly helpful, and I put it to use tonight. Thanks for the great content, Rick.
Great camera angles and graphics! Thanks!
The only thing I needed. Thank you very much sir. Time to take my hang time to 10 seconds. JV
Hey Rick. What golf watch would you recommend. I heard Sureshot were pretty good.
Learn so much from your videos. Starting to approve me swing.
Thank you for these great videos. I appreciate you taking the time to make them.
Great vid Rick u should post more, more often
Simple and correct. Thank you.
I have been struggling with low ball flight recently and this video outlined perfectly what I was doing wrong and what I needed to change. Thank you for the great content Rick!
What effect does this change have to the distance compared to the normal full swing?
The high shot will go shorter ( that's why you gotta hit it harder ) and vice versa
Rick is the 🐐
Short instructional v-logs are great 👍
Thank you for this! Watched this before I played today and it worked. I played one of my best rounds!
very easy to understand ,,,, thanks
Think we might need these shots this coming weekend

you're a beast, bro. keep it up, there are plenty of wrench swingers that need the content that you put out!
Thank You. I am a 78 Year old women who began play golf 8 years ago. YOU have help me sooooooooo much
Why do golfers want to turn 8 iron into a 7 iron rather than just hitting a 7? What are the benefits?
Good vid Rick 👍
Hey Adam - I think what he’s explaining is when you put the ball further back in your stance with an 8, it de-lofts the club a bit. Hey thanks for putting this up Rick!
Thanks for all your training tips, always helpful, always well explained, keep up the awesome work,

Sold out to Garmin have you Rick ha. Nice little earner
Was actually tryin these low shots out at the range today
Before watching this.. I would have guessed to move ball back slightly, to achieve more spin and height.. Thanks for the great advice as ever! Cant wait to test this.. post national lockdown.
Normally that high finish would create a fade and low finish create a draw. Amazing how he keep the shots straight
Thanks Rick I was struggling to get it high much improvement now
Rick, does the two types of shots differ in length? (flat surface no wind)
From my experience it doesn't really. The lower shot tends to run quite a bit and the higher shot has more spin which is due to the faster club head speed (ball gets sucked into the air more), meaning softer landing and less run.

You should review the s7k stand alone putter. I have seen ads for it and I am curious to see how it works.
Love the trap music beats and the beat drop lol awesome tips!
Having your videos in my pocket when I can’t figure out what is going on is amazing. It’s like having a trainer with me at all times.
Wonderful! Thanks much, Rick
Thanks from the Netherlands. good info. i gonne pratisch. low hands en high hands i was forgot
Great tips Rick and two cracking shots

Great video Rick
Great vid Rick! Does this apply also to driver? Maybe low / high hands have bigger effect with driver?
This is such a good video man. It doesn’t really seem that important but I’m Golf it’s really helpful. Love you and your vids!👍🏼👌🏼🤙🏼
I love your video. It’s very helpful!!!
this is the content I like. more of this plz
