Yes, according to people who were there including people portrayed in the movie. Jimi came on stage with all his tricks and flash, it wasn't thinkable that somebody could Jam with Cream as they were regarded as the top and Jimi Hendrix blew everyone away. Eric's hands just dropped and he watched Jimi for a while then went backstage and smoked. That's the actual account of events anyway. I don't know if he was that arrogant about Jimi coming onstage to jam with them, maybe it's exaggerated just to show how it would have looked to the audience that this random guy from America dared to get onstage with a guitar god. He made a lot of great guitarists in England wonder if they were really that good but Jimi and Eric were good friends, particularly early on in that London scene before he became really huge back in America. Hendrix bought a style of playing that people would be trying to emulate for some time after.

I didn't hear anything from Hendrix there ... nor did Hendrix's tone manage to copy.
3000 doesnt look or sound like Jimi at all this is the worst film ever and who ever is playing the guitar in this shit is awful if people think this is a representation of Jimi they have no clue about the man period end of discussion...
@@chriskenner600 Andre is hardly a guitar player in the first place but remember he had to try and look convincing playing left handed. Something good right handed players will struggle with so I think he did okay given the circumstances and is probably the perfect dude to play jimi in a more accurate film.
I think what surprises me the most are all the comments revealing that many actually believe (and expect) that "Hollywood" make documentaries.
i wish this had really been recorded on video...
Clapton was not angry at Jimi's talent, just shocked as was the entire London club scene... and later the world! Eric could still hold his own up against Jimi..
Great casting - the actors look very much like the original musicians.
This is from the movie andre 3000 of outkast rap group, was in. The movie didn't screen everywhere. You're lucky to get a dvd copy if you can find it.
Jack Bruce said Clapton liked Killing Floor," but it was to difficult for Eric. Hubert Sumlin was the guitarist for Howling Wolf but Hendrix didn't copy his solo, he played off it and took it further. All those Brit cats were blues derivative players while Jimi was Innovative and as Billy Cox stated "Jimi was a Blues Master." who loved Jazz; Classical, Country, Folk, R&B, Gospel, Soul & Blues. He fused them all together.
Pissed them off, as they got off, "I'll teach ya."
The moment that Eric realises that he is not the guitar god anymore.
EDIT: And this is a Manish Boy jam i see. In real life Jimi played the guitar under the feet, behind his back and with the teeth. But in real life Eric went downstairs and said “Is he really that fucking good?”. That one was true.
I thought it was going to be a crap film but it was brilliant,Such a shame they stoped them using his music .
Que película es, pasen el link de la película completa por favor
♥️♥️♥️
Bam bam bam, no foreplay
never happened like that !!!
man i would have loved to been there and seen this
Fuckin aye!!!
All lies bro
Clapton was not afraid to play with artists who exceeded his talent, Jimi and Duane Allman just to name a couple. I respect him for that…
Jimi did not exceed Eric sorry that's just nonsense
Bien dicen que lo bueno dura poco!!!
True,Hendrix blew it away
A jet taking off 🤩
JOI MAA HORA KRISHNA JOI GURUDEV
ok first of all eric didnt get a perm until after he met jimi
Just push PL🎶AY🖤
So, everybody talking about what's going down here, and how accurate/inaccurate it is, take this as a yardstick... Jack Bruce on a Fender Bass!! Other than the Fender VI it didn't happen.
As a Bruce-fan, I looked for this comment. Now I don't have to type a lot. :-)
EC did perfectly the right thing
Hendrix may have been better at the time, but there is no way Hendrix would be able to create something like tears in heaven. All legends
Hohoho. True , he fortunately wouldn't have written or played anything as bad as it !!
@@dandelion6760 whatever floats your boat
This movie kinda let me down...had so much potential!
Imagine saying to Eric Clapton "it's easy! I'll teach you"
Does anyone know who played the guitar for this movie? What a great reimagining of this song
Song name ?
@@richardperez7677 song is killing floor but this particular recording is a little different than how Jimi played it because of copyright reasons, that’s why I want to know because I think this version is great
Jimi, by a razors edge, but Eric can make the guitar holla at you too. They both mean/meant business!
I wish Jimi had gone on stage with the Rolling Stones! That would’ve been cool 👍
I think the rolling stones hated Jimi around this time
I was looking for the real footsage of the Hendrix-Clapton rock off. Does it exist?
This is a movie, not the actual event.
Cowboys are the only ones who stay in tune anyways....
Does anybody know how did the recording of this version used in the movie?
Havent seen the movie. But is this the way it really went down? I thought Eric stayed onstage and they actually had a good time
Yes, according to people who were there including people portrayed in the movie.
The day Clapton met God !
"Aww come on man U a bluesman U gotta know these songs. I I'll teach U".
80’s power toms On Ginger’s drum kit.
How is it there is not one known living person who was there , and Jack and Ginger are gone. Has anyone ever seen an interview w Eric on this night?
Kathy Etchingham was there Jimi's girlfriend.
Not one comment asking who is really playing this music is it Hendrix or is it someone else??? Whoever it is it's fabulous!!!!!!
The songs were written for the movie 👍🏻
i'm yet to see this moive... and being a snob here! but factually there was only 1 guitar amp on stage. and Jimi plugged into the second channel of Jack's Fender Bassman so he could be heard.
A time traveler who was at the concert, told me!
Big Clapton fane here. It seems to me he has always loved playing with equals. Of course he was drugged out at this poit in time. What is this movie? The Clapton character is not too believable.
It happened Clapton admitted it
what movie is this ?
What is the title of this film - or is it a film??
